  2. The plot thickens.
  3. Actually, it was. Was very popular too. Video is silly too. http://www.maidenfans.com/imc/?url=single1...ng&link=singles
  4. I really thought if Megadeth released "Promises" from The World Needs A Hero they could have had a real mainstream crossover hit (morseso then anything on Risk which was the specific purpose of that album) but after Risk bombed so badly Dave stayed away from releasing any soft songs, and in fact promoted the latest album on it being a heavy throwback. That's fine with me, but I think "Promises" was the type of ballad that could have gotten serious mainstream rock air play.
  5. Oh, well, it's because I opened my big mouth I guess. Let's take the series...
  6. May 2 2005, 8:46 PM- In a shocking statement released from commishner "Evil" Al Keiper's Philadelphia based office this evening, it was announced that all of the players of the St. Louis Browns have tested positive under All Time Baseball's new steroid policy, and have been suspended for the season. Furthermore, half of the Browns have been revealed to have gambled on All Time Games in the past, banning them from ever enterting the All Time Hall Of Fame, while the other half of the Browns have been named as terror suspects thanks to an "anonymous tip" to the FBI and as a result have been detained in a holding camp, per the Patriot Act. As a result of these completely coincidental and unfortunate circumstances, the St. Louis Browns have no choice but to forfeit their season. Replacement players are not allowed in the All Time League, as per the collective barganing agreement between Commisioner Evil and the legends. The AP contrinuted to this report.
  7. Don't know why Canada has this before ESPN...but....
  8. I've heard a rumor from someone on an O's board that knows someone in the Cubs FO that the Cubs are trying to pawn him off to Baltimore. Don't know how legit it is. What, are we the official dumping ground now for washed up, disgruntled Cubs? Will Dusty Baker be coaching from our bench soon too?
  9. Glad everyone cleared it up for EricMM "The Poster".
  10. So....when's the season start? Don't tell me we forgot about this after spending all that time assembling teams.
  11. Thank god baseball's stringent and fair testing is catching such notorious perpetrators as Juan Rincon and Alex Sanchez, forcing them to clean up their act and preserve baseball's cherished records. Orioles are playing 6 against the Blue Jays and Royals. I fully expect their win streak to be at 14 in a row by the end of the week.
  12. I think you might be thinking of another game. I was at the game 6 we lost to Cleveland at OPACY and I distinctly remember it being Tony Fernandez in the bottom of the 9th (which made it all the more painful to have this little infielder cost us our season). And yep, I'm right: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/sport...s/alcs/alcs.htm Oh god. Just looking at those pictures is bringing back some awful memories. There were people in the stand around me, men and women openly crying. That was supposed to be our year, and it would be the last winning season we'd have...well to date. EDIT: You were sort of right in that it was in the 11th inning. God that was agonizing to sit through. I don't blame Benitez at all, if you can't score ANY runs in 11 innings behind a Mike Mussina shutout, you don't deserve to win. Didn't make it any less horrible though...
  13. Sorry, I just get touchy because like I said, I fully expect Jeter to be voted in even if he's hitting .200 (hell he basically was last year) when I know Tejada is so far superior...
  14. Honestly, besides Nakamura (and they wouldn't pair up the 2 Japanese) I don't think he can beat anyone else. I think Saku can take Arona...
  15. I'd imagine the 2 big matchups they have left would be Sakuraba vs. Silva (even though we've seen it before and probably don't want to see it again, the Japanese just love it) and Silva vs. Vovchanchyn. So, Pride wants to have those 2 matches go down. There's 2 ways they can go about this. The first option is throw one of those matches out there as the main draw for the quarter finals, most likely Silva/Sakuraba. They can then give Vovchanchyn the easiest opponent (likely Nakamura) to set up Silva/Vovchanchyn for the finals. That's the way I would go. Or they could be risky and hope to get all 3 guys into the semis, by spreading them out for the quarters (something like Silva vs. Overheem, Sakuraba vs. Arona and Vovchanchyn vs. Nakamura with Noguiera vs. Shogun where either one could make a good 4th guy and just hope the favorite all go over in the first 3 matches, which would set up Silva/Sakuraba for the semis and Vovchanchyn vs. a Brazilian and then hopefully against Silva in the finals). The second method is much more risky and as we've seen time and time again you can never be sure in MMA so if I were Pride I'd go with option one: Silva vs. Sakuraba Vovchanchyn vs. Nakamura Overheem vs. Noguiera Shogun vs. Arona
  16. Here, this serves a dual purpose. Announces the classification of this thread, and you can use it to hang yourself:

  18. And by the way I've been an O's fan for the past 15 years, since I was 5 years old. I've always followed the team, watched their games and supported them. I've suffered through some bad years, been part of a couple excellent years that ended in heart break, and then went through some disappointing ones but I never stopped watching or stop caring. Any true fan follows his team through thick and thin and sticks with them. That's why this year is so damn sweet for me and many other O's fans. I sat through those years where Jay Gibbons was our most powerful hitter, saw Mike Mussina walk away, Vlad Guerrero turn us down, saw us robbed in '96, was there live when we let '97 slip away, and looked forward to next year every year. Last year's offseason made me feel like that would be the year, it wasn't and this offseason was much more dismal. I didn't stop watching or caring (heck I had a new team close by as incentive if I wanted to!) and now I feel like my patience and loyalty as a fan is being paid off. I've been to so many Orioles games in the past where the fans sit on their hands and have nothing to cheer about as the opposing team's fans flood the Yard and cheer on another route. Not this year, the games I've been to the crowd has been electric, they know this year is different. I was there when we swept the Yankees and it was such a release because these fans like me sat there for the past 10 years as the Yankees and their fans invaded Baltimore and embarassed us time and time again. This time we could cheer proudly. Anyway, I feel like I'm ranting but I don't want to hear any of this "I'm boycotting my team if they don't start winning" crap. You're not a true fan if you don't stick with your team through the tough times as well as the good times. Especially I don't want to hear it from you Yankees fans. For years you think your team is the center of the fucking universe when they're winning and now you want nothing to do with them. Enjoy your bloated contracts and aging egomaniacs. You reap what you sow.
  19. You really want to play this game? Runs Tejada: 19 Jeter: 20 Edge: Jeter +1 Hits Tejada: 37 Jeter: 32 Edge: Tejada +5 Doubles Tejada: 7 Jeter: 5 Edge: Tejada +2 Home Runs Tejada: 9 Jeter: 2 Edge: Tejada +7 RBIs Tejada: 32 Jeter: 11 Edge: Tejada +21 Batting Average Tejada: .372 Jeter: .340 Edge: Tejada +34 On Base Percentage Tejada: .417 Jeter: .462 Edge: Jeter +45 Slugging Percentage Tejada: .737 Jeter: .457 Edge: Tejada +280 (!!!) So, by my total, that a +304 advantage to Tejada, plus his team is in 1st place with the 2nd best record in baseball, Jeter's is in 4th and 7 games back. Seriously get over Jeter. Tejada is the best short stop in baseball, and might be the best player in baseball. Regardless Jeter will be voted in as the starter because of the New York market vote and the rest of casual baseball fans have heard of him...
  20. Al, no arguments on Brian's MVP nomination but Tejada has had a better May so far.
  21. Was at the O's game today. God I love this team. I don't have the time/patience/memory to always jump in here and brag but yeah, a special hello to our friends in New York.
