  1. My money is on Mace putting Anakin over, but probably not clean.
  2. What's with all the Yub Nub hate?
  3. I have to believe that the droids somehow get their memories erased at the end of III, maybe as a preventive measure to protect Luke and Leia. Otherwise, when Leia gives R2 the secret plans in IV, they both should know exactly who Kenobi is.
  4. Just a little more info - I checked out imdb.com and the full list of characters / actors is posted. Interesting to note is the return of at least 2 notable characters from the original trilogy.
  5. You're right. I just checked the profile under Yahoo Movies and he's listed as a member of the cast. He's listed last ... so maybe that's an indication of the size of the role.
  6. That sounds about right. IIRC, the Episode 1 teaser showed up in November 98.
  7. starvenger, if I'm not mistaken, Cheesala was referring to Luke facing Vader in ESB rather than the battle in ROTJ.
  8. I know Vince is trying to get JBL more over than the wheel but I'd much prefer to see Shawn Michaels debating Foley than Bradshaw.
  9. Well I currently have damn near every show posted ... it's just a matter of neatly organizing all the Boston results on one, easy-to-read page. But if you want to go year by year and find the results, you can do that right now. Same holds true for any other city. Just type in the city name in your browser's "find" option and it will scroll down the page.
  10. That doesn't mean she gave birth after he went to the darkside. Maybe she had a reason to hide the pregnancy, birth and children from Anakin before he turned. Maybe Anakin was away on Jedi business while all of it was going on. Anakin knew she was pregnant. In ANH, Obi-Wan gives him a lightsaber when Luke is at his home. "Your father wanted me to give this to you when you were old enough." But Anakin obviously didn't know about Leia. After watching the originals this weekend, I'm left with the impression that Kenobi perhaps knew about the Death Star to some degree before it was constructed. In ANH, he almost immediately refers to it as a space station despite Han's opinion. Maybe I'm just reading too much into that but it would make sense if it turns out to be the case. In regards to the time between ESB and ROTJ, I believe I read somewhere that it was 6 months.
  11. I realize the request was half-joking, but in case anyone did want to know and could then complain ... 10/5/99; Nassau Coliseum in Long Island
  12. You're right on both accounts. I'll add that to the descriptions.
  13. I enjoyed both of those. Very stiff but fun to watch. I'd say they were easily Meng's best matches in WCW.
  14. Nevermind my post of news that everyone already knows. Minus one for not being up to date that Hayden was added to ROTJ lol
  15. It was the norm, actually. Hogan and the heel would usually trade wins via technicality which would set up the third month's cage, lumberjack, etc match. The same held true for Sammartino and Backlund's title runs. It was standard booking for the WWF.
  16. That much I know but I just have the regular North American release. No Taker / Hart, etc. The segment is still included.
  17. It's on the video release I have. Is it not on all of them?
  18. Ole came up with it but he wasn't being serious, just fooling around. Herd thought it was a great idea. Ole was dumbfounded but went with it.
  19. I haven't read Ole's book but I'm sure he elaborates more on the subject. This is what I know from hearing him speak at recent fan conventions. If you talk to Ole, wrestling died in the early 80s. People come up to him and talk about the Horsemen, but the Horsemen are as important to Ole Anderson as logic is to a WWE writer. Those were the dying days of his career and he didn't really agree with everything he had to do (Dusty was booker) but he did them anyway to make a buck on his way out. The same holds true for being the voice of the Black Scorpion; he thought it was over-the-top retarded but did it anyway since it payed the bills. His problem with Flair actually goes back a very long way. When Flair hit it big in Mid-Atlantic, back in the mid 70s, he was billed as a cousin of the Andersons and routinely worked six-man tags with Ole and Gene. Ole's reasoning for that was that Flair wasn't at the level he needed to be at that time and by working six-man tags he could learn from he and Gene. Later on Ole voted to have Flair win the title largely because, according to Ole, he didn't want Flair killing his territory by working the same match every week in the same arena. By making Flair world champion, Flair would only be in Georgia / Mid-Atlantic part of the time and thus even if he worked the same match in Atlanta that he worked in Japan or St. Louis days earlier, no one would know. Once Flair's title reigns started to catch fire, Ole had a problem with Flair doing the same "hits corner, flips over, runs to the other corner, comes off, gets hit" routine, the face-first flop, and selling for the referee (Flair would push ref, ref would push back, Flair would back off, etc). Ole saw it as stupid since Flair was world champion. The world champion shouldn't have to sell for the referee. I think all the original Horsemen, save Flair and Arn, have some sort of heat with one another. JJ seems to be on very good terms with Tully but I don't know how good his relationship is with the other guys.
  20. Just wanted to let everyone know that 75-81 have been posted. I've also created a page for Saturday Night's Main Event results. Every show is up along with several ads from TV Guide promoting the episode.
  21. I put together another page focusing on MSG results. I'm working backwards so all I have up at the moment is 1982-2004. More will be posted soon. More promo ads will be posted on the page once I get into the 70s. I have a ton of newspaper clippings from the decade promoting upcoming MSG cards. Here's a direct link: http://www.angelfire.com/wrestling/cawthon777/msg.htm
  22. For those who are familiar with my Capital Centre and Maple Leaf Gardens result pages, I've put together something similar focusing on the history of WWF Superstars. Each episode will be included. So far I've posted 86-mid 91. More is added every day. Here's a direct link for those who are interested: http://www.angelfire.com/wrestling/cawthon777/superstars.htm
  23. 92 Rumble Bret vs. Davey Boy from Wembley Honorable mention: Hart Foundation vs. Brain Busters from Summer Slam
  24. Yoko made his TV debut less than 3 months before the Rumble. How many people do you know made their TV debut then a few weeks later - without really beating anyone along the way - won the Rumble? That was somewhat of a shocker. A lot of people at the time were actually betting on Savage vs. Hart at Mania with Bret going over. It's easy to look back now and say "So and so was the obvious winner" but it wasn't so obvious at the time.
  25. Eh, I don't know about that. The Rumbles, unlike World War 3, aren't known for their reliance on undercard talent. And I think the talent involved in the 95 edition by far was the worst collection. For several, it was one of their earliest WWF matches (Godwinn, Montoya, Blu Twins, Mantuar, etc) and when you add that to the tag team guys who of course had no chance (Gunns, New Shrinkers, Bodies, Bushwhackers, etc), that doesn't leave too many names left to be possible winners. When you compare that to 89 when just about everyone in the match was built up ... Hogan, Bossman, WWF Champion Savage, Dibiase, Andre, Jake, Bad News, etc - with Big John Studd of all people winning ... or compare that to 90 when you had Perfect, Warrior, Hogan, Rude, etc ... I think you get where I'm coming from. In the days before winning equalled a title shot, any number of wrestlers could have logically walked out the winner. Since that time, *I* think several in particular had a selection of wrestlers where almost any number of them could have won. In 93, there was Savage, Flair, and the Undertaker, and none of those names won. In 94, Luger, Bret, Savage. 96, Diesel, Shawn, Vader. Etc. Even in the more recent years ... 2002 had a great selection ... 2003 could have gone to anyone competing for Triple H's title. I remember just a few months back where 2004's winner was predicted to be Orton, Goldberg, Angle, etc.
