  1. Aside from the forgettable return in 03, I'm trying to think of any he had AFTER 87. I know he did one with Shawn that aired as part of the Rumble 95 Encore. He did a few taped rant segments during his comeback in 94 but you can't really call them Piper's Pit without having a guest, and these did not. He never did one in WCW.
  2. Do you happen to recall how they won them?
  3. It's true, they weren't televised. But that doesn't make it a house show
  4. WCW - Vader beating Simmons for the title in Baltimore Sting beating Vader in London Vader beating Sting in Dublin Flair beating Sting at the Meadowlands Steiners over Anderson & Eaton in Chicago (not 100% sure on this)
  5. Bret's win was at a TV taping. That doesn't count. The Disasters' win was also at a taping. It was the same taping that had the Savage / Bret vs. Flair / HBK match. The Steiners' first title win was at a taping but it never aired for whatever reason. Christian's win over Bradshaw was at a Smackdown taping. I heard it didn't make the show due to time restrains. Dumb reason to not air a title change. The Mountie's win over Bret was at a house show in Springfield, MA. Tito's win over Valentine in the cage was at a house show in Baltimore. Yes, the match was taped but to have cameras in Baltimore at that time was a rarity and of all the matches held that night, I think that's the only one that was shown. There have been a few times where the titles "changed" hands at a house show only for the decision never to be aknowledged. The Rougeaus beating the Harts for the belts in Montreal in 87 would be an example of that. HBK & Diesel winning the straps from the Headshrinkers.
  6. ALL the shows or just a few? There were around 20+ GAB 87 cards.
  7. The JCP history site had most of them up but the site apparently has been down for a few weeks.
  8. That depends on who you ask. Tully did a Q&A at the NWA Fanfest back in August and complained about having to job to the Bushwhackers for 4 months straight before finally winning the tag straps. He also tends to think that Flair is in the position he's in now because Vince wants to bury him. I'm not saying he's right in what he thinks, I'm just saying it depends on who you ask.
  9. WWE (Raw) @ Sioux Falls, SD - September 6, 2002 WWE World Champion Brock Lesnar pinned Raw World Champion Triple H by avoiding the Pedigree and hitting the F5; only Lesnar's title was on the line Had Triple H jobbed in February 03, it would have been for the Raw title.
  10. They had the same match this past Monday after the cameras stopped.
  11. Aside from the major shows and the PPVs, is there a site online that lists attendance figures for a large collection of events? House shows, tapings, etc. I found on Wrestling Information Archive that 99-02 are represented in that manner but I was wondering if there's more out there I just haven't found.
  12. The old timers like who, Tony Garea? Uh oh, don't want to piss him off.
  13. Ah? ... Seems like every place I live, the WWE screws me over and doesn't come. Then when I move, they do a taping there.
  14. A few weeks before forming the Hart Foundation, Bret and Neidhart worked against each other on the house show circuit. Bret was still babyface. Neidhart was heel, and I believe Fuji was with him at the time. Neidhart won most of the matches.
  15. A Life Aquatic 7/10 Quirky and entertaining.
  16. When I think of X-Pac, I remember the hi-larious Goldust skit where he dressed up as the Crocodile Hunter, snuck into the nWo lockerroom, and called X-Pac ... well, I believe it was a rare sewer rat. The name always stuck for me.
  17. Rey Mysterio - Ugly Midget ... why else would he wear the mask? Booker T - The fiddle player in Dave Matthews Band I was kinda hoping Dave would show up at Survivor Series and give JBL an acoustic guitar shot to the head to help Booker win.
  18. I have to say, kudos to the Raw brand for not being obvious as to which way they're going. This is kind of like Smackdown last year where no one knew who would challenge for the title at Mania. Angle? Cena? Benoit?
  19. Yes, Batista is over. Does that qualify him to get the title shot at the biggest show of the year? Not yet. The WWE has spent the past year-plus building Orton to this level. They're not going to pull the plug.
  20. My best guess is that they keep Orton vs. Triple H but Batista becomes involved with the finish, which finally leads to him breaking from Evolution.
  21. And for that, I thank you.
  22. For the record, the Joe Schmo segment only ran about 5 minutes. The live crowd got to see Tajiri vs. Albert during that time.
  23. Good lists so far. One thing I would mention, to go with everything else already said: Dayton, OH - June 14 Raw WWE Raw World Champion Chris Benoit, Edge, & Chris Jericho defeated WWE IC Champion Randy Orton, Ric Flair, & Batista (w/ Triple H) in an elimination match at 34:35; Jericho pinned Batista with the Lionsault at 15:33 after Batista sustained the spear from Edge and diving headbutt from Benoit; Flair pinned Jericho at 22:07 after Orton hit the RKO as Flair was caught in the Walls of Jericho; Orton pinned Edge with a low blow and the RKO at 31:19; Benoit forced Flair to submit to the Crippler Crossface at 32:03; Benoit forced Orton to submit to the Sharpshooter; after the bout, Benoit and Triple H had a staredown, with Benoit in the ring and Triple H on the floor I loved that match and, IIRC, the crowd ate it up as well.
  24. Even if that is the sole reason, which I'm not sure it is, it would have only made the world title look more like crap if we did get that title change. I'm glad we didn't have it. 1999 was a horrible year in terms of strong champions. Even after Hunter won, lost, won, lost it in 99, he really didn't get over as champion until the feud with Cactus.
  25. Booker vs. Jarrett Storm vs. Awesome with Jacques Rougeau as the referee. Bret shows up after the match. ... Some other matches I can't remember. I actually liked WCW from April - August 00.
