The promo print ad is out already. Rather lame, actually. http://www.angelfire.com/wrestling/cawthon777/05a.htm Scroll down.

I was about to ask the same thing. ... Wish I had enough money to just go around buying things, not knowing if they're crap or not.

IMO, the match is set for Cena vs. Batista. Cena - killed Jesus at Armageddon and has beaten everyone since on TV - Kenzo, Dupree, etc - in pretty easy fashion. It's obvious he's done with the midcard and is in line for a push. The match with Jesus was comparable to Rock / Austin at IYH: DX and we all remember what happened with Austin the next month. Batista - Dominated the Elimination Chamber, pinned Benoit clean on Raw, pinned Viscera, beat Grenier & Conway in a handicap match, has an angle brewing with Triple H So based on that, I guess it's up to the WWE as to who needs the win more. Batista has his WM match with HHH, or at least a triple threat, pretty much in stone. I'd like to see Cena take the Rumble.
-
Well, who needs a Rumble win more? Someone who dominated the Elimination Chamber and all the main event players involved or someone who's been squashing SD! mid card guys for a few weeks straight. My vote goes to Cena.
-
That was only reported in a Puerto Rico newspaper. Meltzer even said this week in the Observer that it wasn't likely. I guess this cements that it's not happening.

I wouldn't complain so much about Baltimore. DC is an hour away and they're getting Summer Slam.
-
Without downloading, I bet that's the MSG match from right before WrestleMania V. Perfect / Shawn was from Road to WrestleMania VII.
-
The placement of SummerSlam in D.C. has to be a Batista thing considering that's his home area. ... Or that it's just a good market with a 20,000 seat arena.

The Great American Bash switch to July kinda fits, that's the month that they used to always have it in . . . what I wouldn't give to see them do a "War Games" match there for the main event. It'll NEVER happen, but I guess I can dream, right? According to Meltzer, Triple H has been begging for Wargames for a while but Vince won't budge.
-
Okay, I am seriously torn. The same weekend, there is a NWA fanfest in Charlotte (Aug 19-21). No idea about who they plan to book but those are always a lot of fun. ... Or I could go to Summer Slam. I don't like decision making.

Vader vs. Jake the Snake on Boy Meets World

From watching it, it seemed like it was dubbed over for the show. -
In terms of Benoit winning last year and being the Ironman, I remember back to 1993 when Bob Backlund went the distance and set the then-record. What happened the next year? Backlund didn't last 2 minutes and was punked out of the ring by Diesel. *crosses fingers that we don't see something like that this year*

La Parka. You're assuming La Parka can get past Battle Kat. I don't think so.

Thanks for all these, keep it up. The more obscure, the better

Larger than Life was the 1999 tape released by WWF Home Video. This is the 1985 Coliseum Home Video compilation.

I can't find a report of the show online to support that.

Vader vs. Jake the Snake on Boy Meets World

Yeah, it is. -
I think the Andre tape has potential, basically because I haven't seen some of those older bouts. Best of the IC is a definate pass.
-
So if the WWE wants Cena to be at that top level, what do they do? Send him to Raw after WrestleMania? ... Better yet send him to Raw with the US title, thus taking it away from SD. There's a great way to create brand tension.

Why ? One possible scenario: Batista wins the belt, beats the piss out of everyone for a year which the people go nuts for. Meanwhile, a face/heel gets built up and built up for a year, all the while staying away from Batista. Then, come the Rumble, this wrestler wins the Rumble, faces Batista at WM XXII, and beats him for the belt. Batista gets over with a year long reign that the people, presumably, would go nuts for, and the unnamed wrestler gets over for being the guy to finally end the reign of the beast that is Batista. Hunter might not like that idea, because it means him not being the top guy for an extend period, but Batista would go for it, because he'd be in the Billy Graham role. Another possible scenario is that Batista wins the belt and within 2 months is exposed as a Diesel clone where the people like him but he can't carry the company on his shoulders. I enjoy Batista, I just don't see him being the top guy.

It was reported inaccurately that London's win was a qualifier. It wasn't.
-
He didn't so much win it as he stole it from Cornette and McMahon announced him as champion to test the crowd reaction. This kind of stuff really isn't a big deal. It has happened pretty freqently. IIRC, even Nash "won" the title from Trips in 03 just for the same outcome to occur.

where to find pictures of past WWF/E PPV posters

Check the first link in the sig. -
Batista is a definate. Same with Benoit. Taker & Heidenreich, IMO, won't be in it. Matt Hardy won't be in it. I don't think he's scheduling a WWE comeback until much closer to Mania. RVD won't be in it due to his knee injury / surgery. I wouldn't mind seeing some new / old faces that we haven't seen in a while. Not the Honkytonk Man but someone like that. This might see the return of the Dudley Boyz, coming in one after the other, and hitting a 3D to pop the crowd. From 2000 to 04, they've yet to be in the Rumble match, despite being on the card.
-
Yeah, I noticed that myself. The only problem there is that 3 of those 4 guys are already in (Eddie / Rey over Reigns / Jindrak) ... which makes it incredibly dumb to have the match. Either 1) it wasn't a qualifier and all the newsboards are saying it was because they are sheep that follow PWInsider and 1wrestling or 2) it was a qualifier and someone in the WWE is a moron (well, probably more than someone).
