  1. I thought this might be something of interest. Of course Edge was at WrestleMania VI, Foley was at the October 83 MSG card (with, I believe, Bubba Ray and Tommy Dreamer), a young RVD kissed Ted Dibiase's feet in 87 but I haven't been able to track down a specific city / date. Can you name any others? Trish used to go to MSG and MLG shows, IIRC. Nunzio used to go to MSG. But I don't know what specific cards. Jericho saw WrestleMania II via CC at the Winnipeg Arena but I don't know about other shows. Once we get a good list going, I'll probably add the info in with my ring results.
  2. Jan 95 Clash of the Champions. Gene Okerlund tries to interview Bossman after he turned heel on Sting. Bossman has trouble tearing his shirt and says "Shit", Okerlund admonishes him. A year later, same event. Pillman roughes up Heenan. Heenan busts out "Get the fuck off me!"
  3. Hogan pretty much killed that theory. And no, I don't see John Cena as the next Hulk Hogan, just making a point.
  4. Wow ... That's the funniest thing I've heard all day.
  5. March 91 from the Tokyo Dome, I believe. The same show had the controversial Flair / Fujinami match.
  6. Yeah, I believe that could be the case. I was actually a fan of his, especially after the match with HBK on Raw, so I didn't understand why he just disappeared.
  7. I don't have the numbers to back this up but apparently attendance was dwindling so they figured if they pulled it from TV, more people would go to the show.
  8. 1) Talent exchange with All Japan. The WWF had a number of big shows in Japan directly after Mania. 2) LOD were by no means phased out. Vince just didn't want them facing the Harts at Mania because he didn't want babyface vs. babyface. So instead LOD killed Power & Glory to pretty much cement the fact they were the top contenders. What was the point? Valentine / Quake - Valentine had been managed by Jimmy Hart for over 3 years and had recently dropped him. So Jimmy throws Quake at him for revenge. Tito / Mountie - Establishes the Mountie. Same reason as Taker / Snuka. Bravo / Von Erich - At the time, I could see this being an intriguing match on paper. Both guys were pretty much at the same level. Bulldog / Warlord - Already explained.
  9. This is true. On top of that, what move was Warlord using as a finisher before Davey showed up? The running powerslam. I seem to remember they had a series of arm wrestling bouts a few months before the show. In terms of actual buildup ... WWF @ Savannah, GA - January 29, 1991 Wrestling Challenge taping: 2/17/91: Davey Boy Smith defeated the Warlord (w/ Slick) via disqualification in a Full Nelson challenge when Warlord attacked Smith from behind after Smith became distracted by Slick; after the contest, Smith cleared the ring and hit the running powerslam on Slick
  10. The ref in the main event pictures looks like Danny Davis.
  11. Well, he just showed up at the Rumble a few days before so no one really knew enough to laugh at him being in the main event. Good pics. I'm always on the lookout for stuff like that.
  12. They should have had that match on a PPV. It seemed anti-climactic to have Flair drop the title to Bret that way. Flair was hurt and they already had the big tag match signed for Survivor Series so it couldn't have been any earlier than the Rumble.
  13. That makes a lot more sense. PLUS ... they give us 5 names to start off with ... wait a bit, then give us Piper ... wait a bit, then give us Duggan? No. The last name on the list, ahead of Piper, is not going to be Hacksaw. If anything it will be Hogan himself. Check out this recent Duggan interview. It leads me to believe he's not getting in this year. This was conducted Feb 10. Credit: The Official Website of Hacksaw Jim Duggan It's been rumored online that you could possibly be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2005 at Wrestlemania. Is there any truth behind this? No, I don't think so. I think Sheik is, all those guys are ten years older than me and had great careers. I'm not holding my breath to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame, especially Vince's, not that I have a bad relationship with Vince but it's just something if it happens then that's great, if not that's ok too. Is it something you would like to be a part of? I think anytime you're honored, of course Vince is a different deal, I mean if you were inducted by your peers, that would be one thing.
  14. Then who was Max Moon on the pre-WrestleMania XI European tour? Sure wasn't Konnan.
  15. He did. And he still holds a grudge against Tommy Rich because of it.
  16. They also spliced these matches into the show. WWF @ Muncie, IN - Worthen Arena - April 7, 1997 (3,353) 4/14/97: Henry & Phinneas Godwinn defeated the Legion of Doom at 9:00 after Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith interfered and Bulldog hit Road Warrior Animal with his title belt Vader & Mankind defeated the Headbangers via disqualification at 5:45 when Mosh sprayed a substance into Mankind's eyes, blinding him to the point where he mistakingly applied the Mandible Claw on his tag team partner
  17. Farooq debuted the Nation gimmick at the Survivor Series with very little set up, aside from Mason being his new manager after Sunny. That was also PG-13's unscheduled return to the WWF. She never had anything to do with them aside from putting them over when she was working the heel color commentator bit. Best I can tell, Crush joined a few weeks after Survivor Series. He was already being managed by Mason so it was a natural progression. Savio joined 1/25/97. It's true that he did turn on Ahmed during a tag match at MSG but later that evening (MSG was a matinee) he played down the incident during the live Shotgun and apologized for his actions. He fought Rocky Miavia that night and won via count-out. Mid-way through the match, Crush and Farooq came out to watch and from that point on Savio was a lot more aggressive in the match. He officially joined at the conclusion of the bout.
  18. Not sure as to what led to that but I can safely say that Cornette hates Russo as much as Heyman hates Bischoff. What was so bad about that Raw? Sure, it wasn't anything special but I don't remember it being THAT bad.
  19. Am I dreaming that that was some sort of #1 contender match? Perhaps for Uncensored. For whatever reason I remember it as being such. But then Hall was injured and the title was held up. Booker ended up beating Steiner at Uncensored for the TV belt instead.
  20. Yesterday's house show was in fact a matinee. It started at 4.
  21. I'll have to double check but most of the time when they run a house show and PPV the same day, the house show is a matinee.
  22. I believe there was also a clothesline, immediately following the atomic drop. But it's nearly 5am so my memory might be fuzzy.
  23. Didn't Hogan hulk up from the tombstone at Series 91?
  24. I wouldn't go as far as to say I can't stand him now, but over the past few years I've learned not to expect much from an RVD match.
  25. Exactly.
