They had a match on Nitro, it was supposed to be the Road Warriors vs The Nasty Boys but out came the Steiners on Motorcycles. It was a great match, but the Road Warriors cheated to win by using one of their armband spikes. One of my favorite tag matches. They also wrestled at Starrcade 89: Future Shock, with the Steiners winning.

I don't think I've seen a BAD Shawn Michaels IC title match from 92-93, and I'm including Skinner, Kamala, and Virgil in that group.

Pretty sure the dates are wrong for both. The Harts were still tag champs on 3/12. LOD / Demolition aired 2/10.

I don't think it's too far away from Greensboro.

I picked Terry Funk's book up this past Saturday when he did a show in Lenoir, NC. Even got him to personalize it by calling me an egg sucking dog Looking forward to reading it when I have the time. Funk was on WOL a few weeks back and Meltzer put it over as perhaps the best wrestling book ever.

I was for certain it was Jannetty until HBK came out and started ranting about America. Which had me scared to death that he was going to ask Sgt. Slaughter to be his partner

One thing I forgot to mention was that there was plenty of merchandise at the show. Figures, magazines, tapes, books, etc. I spent $25 to get Funk to autograph his book (the book was $25, the autograph was free) so the only thing I could afford afterwards was a copy of Meltzer's Tributes which only ran $5 (cover price is $20). ... Oh, and I had Terry write, "To Graham - You egg suckin dog"

Carolina Championship Wrestling Lenoir, NC Mulberry Recreation Center April 9, 2005 The show began with the singing of the National Anthem by a young female local. I think she was nervous because more than a few words were left out. The Fabulous Mr. Franklin came out and put a $10,000 bounty on Dusty Rhodes for the attack he sustained the previous month at the hands of Rhodes and Mick Foley. Tommy Gunn pinned Jason Jones at 4:13 with a powerbomb. Gunn came out to AC/DC while Jones had Velvet Revolver as his theme music. Chief Jay Eagle & Brad Tomahawk defeated Jason King & Mike Lee at 9:45 when Tomahawk pinned King with a sunset flip after Eagle prevented Lee from blocking the move Brad Anderson pinned Bobby Fulton at 12:18 with a boot to the mid section and a roll up. Prior to the bout, Fulton – who came out to ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man” and formerly one half of the Fantastics – cut a heel promo on the crowd. Anderson brought out a pair of his dad’s boots (Gene Anderson), which hung from one of the ring posts for the duration of the match. George South Jr. (sub. for George South) defeated the Masked Superstar via disqualification at 8:01 when Superstar pulled the referee in front of South; the match was surprisingly rough for South as he was thrown out of the ring, into the scaffold, and had both a garbage can and steel chair used on him Kid Kash pinned CW Anderson with a tornado DDT at around the 14-minute mark; definitely the match of the night; at one point, Anderson slammed Kash’s arm against the post on the floor, then threw a steel chair into the arm; both men impressed, Anderson with a delayed superplex and Kash with a hurricanrana over the top to the floor Terry Funk then came out with a copy of Dusty Rhodes’ book and ran down the fact that Dusty rated Hogan, Foley, Flair, Lawler, and Dusty himself as the top five wrestlers of all time. Funk ran down each man – calling Hogan an egomaniac, Foley a word I had never heard before (and am not sure it’s a real word), Flair a banana nose, Lawler a baby banger, and Dusty an egg sucking dog. He then called Dusty out, with the crowd very pro-Funk. Funk eventually sends the ring announcer to the back to find Dusty but he eventually returns, claiming he couldn’t find him. Before intermission, it was announced that Jim Cornette would be with the Midnight Express for the return to Lenoir on May 21st. Brad Attitude & Krissy Vaine defeated Kevin Matthews & Amber O’Neil at 10:20 when Attitude pinned Matthews with a corkscrew crossbody off the top after O’Neil hit a low blow on her partner, followed by a double flatliner by Vaine & O’Neil NWA World Champion Jeff 'Unover' Jarrett pinned Dusty Rhodes at 9:42 after Terry Funk interfered and hit the challenger with a copy of his own book, moments after Jarrett raked the eyes of guest referee Jimmy Valiant; after the bout, Funk grabbed the microphone and insulted Rhodes as he continued to beat on him; the crowd was, again, pro-Funk; Funk eventually started beating up referees, threw a chair, and even punched promoter Tony Hunter It was then announced that Flair vs. Funk would headline the next CCW event in Gaffney, SC on May 7th. The Midnight Express (Condrey & Eaton) defeated the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express in a scaffold match at 4:18 when Condrey knocked Morton off after stomping his hands while Morton hung from the scaffold; both teams came out to their original theme music; Morton became busted open early on the floor and later sustained a face full of powder after he climbed the scaffold; after the bout, Morton sustained a chair to the knee by Condrey before Kid Kash made the save - The crowd was hot for every match and segment. Before the show and during intermission guys like the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, Jimmy Valiant, Masked Superstar, Team Blondage, Dusty Rhodes, Terry Funk, and Jeff 'Unover' Jarrett were available for autographs and pictures. Overall, a lot of fun and well worth the $15 ticket.

Razor / HBK was good. The fans immediately took to Razor. Tatanka / Bigelow was also solid. Perfect / Luger was a lot better than WrestleMania.

Well the only problem with that is that none of the matches took place at TV tapings. And by that time, the MSG / Spectrum / Boston Garden monthly tapings had ended. I know there's a fan cam of their cage match in Worcester, MA in 2/92 but I don't know if the WWF itself has any footage.

Just got a fan cam of this show and thought I would post the full results. This took place the night before King of the Ring 93. Interesting card. A heel vs. heel match (Razor / HBK) and face vs. face (Bret / Backlund). Razor played the default face in his match with Shawn. Both Backlund and Bret had their fans but Bret was easily more over with the crowd. As far as Bret / Backlund, the crowd largely crapped all over it for the first 10-15 minutes. It was mostly Bob keeping Bret in a headlock. Later on, the fans got into it more as the two men traded pinfall attempts. It became pretty good toward the end but took a long time to get started. WWF @ New York City, NY - Madison Square Garden - June 12, 1993 (9,100) Tito Santana pinned Papa Shango with a roll up at 10:14 (Santana's last MSG match) Razor Ramon defeated WWF IC Champion Shawn Michaels via count-out at 8:51 when Diesel pulled the champion out of the ring and helped him backstage immediately after the challenger hit the Razor’s Edge; after the bout, Razor grabbed the microphone and challenged Michaels to bring Diesel and the belt back out, with Michaels and Diesel returning briefly before leaving ringside (Diesel's MSG debut) Bret Hart pinned Bob Backlund with a roll over at 32:21; prior to the bout, the two shook hands; during the bout, Hart sustained an injured ankle; after the bout, the two shook hands and Backlund raised Hart’s arm in a showing of respect (Backlund’s first pinfall loss at MSG) The Undertaker defeated the Giant Gonzalez via disqualification at 4:34 when Gonzalez hit Taker in the back with a steel chair as Taker grabbed Harvey Wippleman on the ring apron; after the match, Taker sat up in the ring as Gonzalez & Wippleman attempted to use Chloroform on him, with Taker then using the rag on Gonzalez instead (Gonzalez' only MSG match) Tatanka defeated Bam Bam Bigelow via count-out at 11:21 after hitting the Samoan Drop on the floor; after the bout, Bigelow attacked Tatanka in the ring and hit the diving headbutt The Headshrinkers & Afa defeated the Smoking Gunns & Kamala at around the 9-minute mark when Kamala was pinned with a roll up as he was distracted by Afa in the ring (Afa's in-ring return to MSG after a nearly 9-year absence, the Gunns' MSG debut, Kamala's last MSG match) Lex Luger pinned Mr. Perfect at 14:02 after taking his forearm pad off behind the referee's back and knocking Perfect out while the referee was distracted by Shawn Michaels and Diesel at ringside; prior to the bout, Luger was forced to wear the pad or he would be fined $25,000 and be suspended for 6 months

I blame "Makin Some Noise" for making me a Tom Petty fan. I think I watched that video a total of 30 times leading up to Survivor Series 92.

It was from one of the Piper / Flair cage matches held between Rumble 92 and WrestleMania. No clue about the location (they had more than a dozen of those matches) but it was most likely one of the IC champion vs. world champion non-title matches.

The stuffed animal pig with a brick hidden inside. The Outlaws used that to beat the Godwinns on Raw once. Juventud Guerrera's bottle of tequilla he used to beat Liger on Nitro. And I always mark out for a good fireball.

I don't know who was boking per say but Bischoff came into power just months before and that show had his finger prints all over it, the Horsemen being jobbed out for example.

Stuff did an interview like this back in 2000 with the WCW girls at the time - Torrie, Stacy, the Asian Nitro girl, Kimberly, and maybe one or two others. Stacy sounded very inexperienced at the time. Kimberly mentioned her and DDP trying to get it on in an airplane bathroom until one of the flight attendants knocked on the door and asked them to take their seats. I might still have that magazine somewhere.
