Is "Sweeps" an antiquated concept now? A friend of mine was all excited that, with it being February, shows would be new all month. Well, a glance at the 2 weeks of my scheduled DVR recordings reveal no new Big Bang Theory, HIMYM, Office, and I think there's one episode of 30 Rock. Family Guy makes it's return tonight after what I believe was a 7 month drought (sure seemed that way), but Fox's Sunday night line up appears to be right back to not existing after tonight (I get that the 22nd is the Oscars though). So, what the hell happened to "Sweeps Month"?

Donkey punch was also one of several slang names for trades conducted by Enron.

I assume there's a 6th match. Even with two ECs, didn't last year's show have 6 matches? I'm going go out on a limb and predict they'll add a 6 tag 'bonus match' - Punk and The Colons vs. Benjamin/Miz/Morrison, or maybe even an 8 man tag with MVP and Regal balancing it out.

The JBL/HBK angle is actually what sold me on the PPV. I think both EC matches will be good, but this is the angle I care about.

British people have no right to bash North American figures of speech. Just sayin'.

I'll watch it when it airs (that's why I have a television), but thanks all the same. -
I don't understand what a skin cream has to do with these people, but none of these new NHB threads make any sense to me now anyway.

$500 on an e-rose seems obscenely expensive. I just wanted to mention that.

I love it when Jesse calls Vince on things. Prime example, Vince said something about no one entering a battle royal to receive punishment. I thought that was a stupid thing to say (what, they just enter and hope they can be effortlessly thrown over the top rope?) and was glad to hear Jesse's reaction to it.

SD being taped back to back will be done by the Draft, btw. It's Raw/ECW and SmackDown/Superstars, or some combination of that.

You know, with the long, long history of people adding seemingly random numbers to logon handles, and the amount of time he's been here, I never took 213 to mean February 13th. I actually thought I was calling him out on C&Ping comments he made on like, a horror forum where his name is VorheesFTW or some such. Good catch.

Nothing says "Friday the 13th" fan like Petey Williams Finisher 213.

WWE General Discussion - February 2009

Lawler had an interview somewhere where he pointed out that him and Coach would agree on cheering people like Chris Masters, but not more villainous heels. Then he feuded with Masters and I believe Lawler just supported faces 100% of the time. -
TNA PPV's getting only 14,000 buys
DrVenkman PhD replied to Thanks for the Fish's topic in TNA Wrestling
It was a really diehard fan who gets a lot of grief on their board for going to great lengths to defend TNA. The best part was when the fan said that he had purchased every TNA PPV since they went monthly in November of 2004 but that he didn't get Against All Odds as things were just too bad even for him. It's quite a feat to turn off a fan who defends you at every turn and has paid money to you on a monthly basis for over four years. I also assumed Crumbley was the diehard fan Chico referred to in the newsletter as calling the card too shitty to justify ordering AAO. -
The Starrcade DVD did have a 44 minute doc portion, people!

I can't imagine a Chamber match is all that fun to watch live with all the chains and such. Edit: But you said 2000 and I somehow read 2008. Carry on. -

No, but my cousin did. He also went to SummerSlam 93. The only shows I went to at the Palace were house shows that we had to sit in a luxury box for (because they were comped tickets my friend's dad got for being a buyer at Ford or something). Because attendance was really low at the two Fed shows (Hart Attack Tour in 94, In High Gear in February 95) we moved from the box to the lower bowl, but it was upstairs all the way for WCW's packed house in 98. -

When I'm a little less crazy I'd like to respond to this in depth, but I had an awesome time at a WCW house show in March 98 at The Palace of Auburn Hills and ROH Steelcage Warfare in NYC in December 2005. I liked to pretend the roof on Basketball City at the pier made it like a mini Trump Plaza. Mania 23 and Rumble 09 were fun times too. -
