I played from the time I got home from EB until I had to leave for work and I was pretty into it. I only did a month in season and a month in GM (GM first, actually) because I ended up spending a lot of time messing around in exhibition matches. That is so awesome that one of Hogan's moves is preparing to no-sell something, then Hulk up. I noticed some pretty nice animations as well (delayed selling, but I forget which move, and Flair doing the flop after I beat him up... though that might have been a well timed AI taunt, assuming that is still a taunt of his). I was susprised that CWs like Hurricane, Chavo, and Daivari were usable in season mode. When the announcement that some of the lower card guys weren't in, I assumed they were out for sure. I thought I heard someone say Regal wasn't in Season but I could have selected him if I wanted to so.. I don't know. Seems like the biggest non-fired guy left out of Season's playable characters was Eugene, probably because he would not have fit the storylines since your character talks now... ... which brings me to how much better the voice acting is this year. Like I said, I only played a month of the story (I actually didn't even do the PPV match yet) and it was good. It is great that your character talks.

I am beginning to think the person I spoke with at EB was a moron... I wish I had realized this before I left the store but in general I hate complaining and making a scene, and I had someone outside the mall waiting to drive me back home. When I called EB at 5:30 tonight and asked if my game was in and mentioned that I was told in the morning I had to wait to call back tonight, the employee on the phone sounded confused and asked my name. I told him, and he said "yes your copy is here". It was at that point I realized that the pre-orders are labeled with people's name and number... when I was called YESTERDAY, that should have meant that MY copy of the game I paid for already was in. I just took the idiot that worked this morning at face value when he said they were waiting for a second shipment, thinking at the time they must just hand out the pre-orders on a first come first serve basis, totally forgetting that they do label each one with a recipet with your name on it. I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt that maybe he didn't hear me say I was picking up a PRE-ORDER copy of SmackDown vs Raw... or maybe he just didn't know where they kept them. I know the manager that was there this morning is new (his first day was Monday, when I was there to do the pre-order) and I had never seen the employee who told me and another woman that we had to wait until later today (and at that, not even guaranteed). Still, I'm more than a little pissed that I got told my game wasn't in when it really was, robbing me of a day of play since I'm now at work and won't be able to go back to the store until tomorrow morning.

What is the file size? The memory card discussion in the CTDWAT made me realize I'm not playing with much space left (though some stuff could be deleted). I remember JBI's god-awful 4MB+ save size... that was a pain, both in terms of taking up card space and the time it took to save / load games.

The worst save file ever (from what I've seen) was the first PS2 SD! game (Just Bring It, I believe). It took up 4MB of space and took FOREVER to save over / load up. Thankfully they have drastically reduced that.

Well considering last year's official "all things Mortal Kombat" thread was called "First screen shot of Deception" (I THINK it eventually got changed) and I believe the first SvR thread was also not a OAO, but something that started as news... it's just how we roll at TSM, I guess.

Well this is super... EB calls me yesterday to say the game is in. Unfortunatley they called at 11:10 am and I had to work a 12 hour shift (noon - midnight) so I had to wait until this morning to go. When I arrived, I (along with some other lady) was told they don't have any in stock at the moment but should by 5pm tonight... but no guarantee. *shakes fist at EB*

Anyone care to list off who can't be used in Season? Also I heard a minor complaint on GameFaqs that the WWE Title never changes to it's proper belt form in Season (apparently you can pick which version to use in Exhibition).

I was waiting for Joe's rival to come back as I recall that Seth said on the commentary for the Special Olympics episode that they intended to make hi ma regualr character. He seemed to be much less confident in his abilities this time around. Novel and knee injury references were awesome. Loved the way they worked them in.

Well sometimes you never know... I ASSUME he wouldn't, but there might be some backlash about pointing out that a WWE superstar is short. I don't think in this case it would matter though for the reasons you mentioned.

King had a quick line that no one else seems to have caught that, unless I misheard, was pretty funny - he said he had to make sure to put Maria on his "to do" list. Not a bad idea if I say so myself.

I hope Styles doesn't get in trouble for pointing out how Michaels is usually the small man in his matches, but was the big man against Rey. That really made it clear to me just how small Rey must be (not that it matters to me or anything - he's one of my favs in WWE). It was a good match and I enjoyed seeing Shawn be the subtle heel by doing his not so subtle selling, if that makes any sense.

Pre-ordered today, was told they hoped to have it in tomorrow, Wednesday at the latest. They then warned me they (EB) would be busier than ever with Xbox 360 stuff arriving tomorrow so they may not have time to call me. It doesn't matter because I have to work noon to midnight tomorrow, so hopefully it does arrive tomorrow and I'll pick it up Wednesday morning.

I just read through this thread... what is the story with those two jokers doing haikus or what have you and blaming Downhome for Eddie's death? Stupid stuff... Anyway, as I've mentioned before, I cancelled plans made on Saturday to watch Raw at a friend's house in the event this show became too emotional for me, and it did right off the bat. Angle/Benjamin was a great TV match and took me out of the moment and made me feel good again, and I was ok until Benoit's promo broke me again. Cena/Orton was pointless as a match but Cena's post match tribute was great stuff. I applaud WWE for putting this tribute together and am interested in seeing SmackDown's version of it this week. Also, you could tell early on Styles was quite drained, even admitting that he needed to get into a match and call it to temporarliy get over Eddie. He still did a good job though and I really enjoy the little things that he points out (ex. Eddie and Cena's 2003 feud with the street fight).

I was supposed to hang out with a friend tomorrow and watch Raw at night but I really don't think I can... I know I am not going be able to resist tearing up during Raw (in fact I almost did at work today... the later it got, the quieter it became, the more time I had to reflect) and he probably won't be able to either, and that's not the sort of moment I want to be a part of when I'm out of the house.

I don't recall the specifics but on a 2002 episode of SmackDown, it was a 6 man tag where the heel team was Eddie, Benoit, and Angle. Angle and Benoit started brawling. The face team (I believe it was Edge, Rey, and Rikishi) just kinda looked out confused... then Eddie joins them, puts his arm on one of their shoulders and acts like he was their pal. Not the greatest moment ever mind you, but quite hilarious.

I read Meltzer's update to mean that Orton would be scheduled to win it NOW if they were to not think about it, but if people thought, they would realize it's not a good idea.

I think it would be nice if tonight they had a one night tournmanet that had Benoit/Rey as the finals. Just drop kayfabe all together tonight... have people talk about Eddie and how much he meant, admit Batista is injured.. I think that would be very nice. I am very interested in seeing what they do for SD! tonight.

I'm just in a state of shock and numbness right now. Trying to carry on with what I need to do today but this is hanging over my head and clouding my thoughts. All I wanted to read on the net today was that Eddie Guerrero won the world title. This is about as opposite as it gets. Very, very sad.

What does Toronto vs Kurt Angle mean? Angle vs. Edge? That's been done. Christian and Test are gone. Kurt Angle vs The Leafs? Interesting, but none are wrestlers so who cares. I'll buy a PPV for a wrestler wrestling a wrestler, thanks.

Unless WWE's back-up plan is to make Undertaker world champion by having him win the rumoured buried alive match at Survivor Series, Orton won't be winning it... However, now that I typed that, I could really see WWE giving Taker the belt over Orton at Survivor Series in Detroit to play up the history of that event and venue (Undertaker winning his first title at Survivor Series 91 at Joe Louis in Detroit).
