  1. Heh, "barts". I'm keeping it real at work, thankfully the amount of idiot drunks coming in has been low (some kid is hopping around though and needed a wheelchair) but the night is young.
  2. Happy birthday to Agent, and a big birthday greeting to all the people who are over 100 years old and still going.
  3. I've never been clear on whether spoiled in that context meant "gave away" or "ruined" (well, ok, both mean "ruin" but you know what I mean). I'm 99% sure it means "ruined", but I like to think of it in the "spoiler" sense.
  4. Yeah, the Christmas 97 Raw had a lot of live (or at least recently redone) shots of the announcers keyed into the taping. It was kind of like watching an old Superstars / Challenge!
  5. I'm not sure if "all the spelling errors" is really an accurate phrase to point out that "remotely" had a typo (which is now fixed). "Troubleshot" is a valid past tense of "Troubleshoot".
  6. Hooray for working midnights on New Year's Day! When we last left 2008, there was some talk about a Universal HD channel and Cena having strong merchandise sales. What will 2009 bring to the table?
  7. I did enjoy Aztec Tights Jeff Jarrett's look and his wacky music that came with it, so I look forward to reliving that extremely brief era (plus the nWa angle that came out of it). I have no recollection to why he suddenly became Double J, Country Music Star (with Tennessee Lee!) again, but I laughed. I suspect the answer is nothing more than "Russo said so, so that's what he came out as on TV one day".
  8. You never knew what you were going to get with Lord Alfred. Sometimes he chastises the heels for being dirty, but then in another match he'll root for them because he has an unspecified reason for disliking the face.
  9. I like how WWE actually has a "WWEFanNation" youtube channel to officially post stuff like a Goldust Christmas and what not. I remember last year there was a small net rumour that WWE had a youtube account as there was one particular account that posted a lot of stuff and was never "copyright violation" blocked like the others.
  10. I'm going to assume Stan Lane before I even watch the video. That was Monsoon's usual Coliseum Video partner in 1994. Edit: Yep, good ol Sweet Stan.
  11. Card as of March 21, 2009: WWE Title Match: Triple H © vs. Randy Orton World Heavyweight Championship Match: Edge © vs. The Big Show vs. John Cena Unified Tag Titles Match: World Tag Team Champions The Miz and John Morrison vs. WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito and Primo Colon WWE Intercontinetnal Championship Match: John 'Bradshaw' Leyfield © vs. Rey Mysterio Undertaker WrestleMania Streak Challenge Match: The Undertaker (16-0) vs. "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels Money in the Bank V: United States Champion MVP vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. CM Punk vs. Kane vs. Mark Henry vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Christian vs. Finlay Extreme Rules: Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy Miss WrestleMania Battle Royal: 25 women from the past and present. ---- From today's Observer: Worth noting - he hasn't actually signed a deal yet, but it's assumed he will (otherwise they wouldn't have penned this scenario).
  12. Shouldn't my name be reverted back to DrVenkman PhD in that quote? Weird.
  13. I "cheated" and did a quick search - it looks like Marty doesn't wrestle until January 12 / 98, going up against "Black Cat". His match on the 19th was with Benoit, so that's out. Then he's not on again until March against Chris Jericho.
  14. I'm not going to hold my breath on that due to the holidays. I'll set Friday as the earliest and Monday as the latest for a target - if it shows up earlier, great. I was browsing http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=66 to see if anyone else was complaining about 24/7 problems with Cogeco, but the only time it's mentioned is by me and in a 2006 thread where people are talking about the channel debuting. There's some bitching about content in a 2005 thread in the Rogers Cable section too.
  15. I believe around August or so I did make that threat via e-mail and was actually called 45 minutes later by someone in customer service. From my limited understanding of the On Demand system, I too would guess that without someone working (off on holiday) to manually upload programming, the programs not being automatically uploaded at 12am (all of them) like the technology intends are in limbo.
  16. This is the kind of booking I don't care for. They build up a challenger, give him his title shot on free TV, he loses clean, and the next week he's losing a sqaush match.
  17. Bah, I was lured into a false sense of security by Cogeco being awesome with on-time updates the past 2-3 weeks. The PYBO showing up on time instead of a Wednesday / not at all, daily Goldberg updates... but on Sunday, when the HHH/Goldberg match never arrived, I suspected there might be problems today. No updates at all yet.
  18. So that was the debt of Kizarny, eh? I wish the report indicated if he had wacky circus music or what kind of finisher he used. I'm not surprised it was boring, though.
  19. I have no interest in starting a thread for a show I don't watch until Saturday morning on a Tuesday. The last time I did, it got SIX replies, so I figured whoever watches ECW can just start one. It had a 2 page thread the following week. Weird. So yeah, it's pretty hit or miss - if Chris or Downhome start one, it has one, but if they don't, oh well.
  20. theone is really bringing a lot to this thread. Terrific he is not.
  21. Just curious, at what point is it considered in good (or at least not incredibly terrible) taste to make a GTG thread "Guys, I think Marley is dead" and post a picture of the Marley and Me poster? I had zero interaction with Marney but it's never cool when a community member dies young.
  22. I thought "2008" would sound outdated.
  23. Notes from the latest Retro Observer: I would have liked to seen that. Any clue who this is? That's a shame.
  24. No, that's the top of the board.
