Wrestlemania X-7 never happened, apparently.
-
It defintely looks like the weak sister of the Western Conference. It wouldn't surprise me if someone like Denver rampages though the season just to prove me wrong.
-
I like the one with the Mannings just because it's always funny to see the Mannings acting like morons. But yeah, those ESPN spots are starting to get too cute.
-
Well it's not Bischoff's secretary giving you your release over the phone, but it's pretty close.

I've got that one and it's very good, but I just didn't like the movie. It may be sacrilege and it may just be because it's been a while since I've seen it, but parts of that movie (including the ending) just make no damn sense to me at all. Everything production-wise is very good about it, but it's almost like the plot tries to be too smart for it's own good, and loses cohesion as a result. This should have gone into the anime thread, but I saw this and wanted to get that off my chest.

I want to see that photoshopped with a black top hat and cape. Get the whole Snidely Whiplash effect going.

Well considering that seemingly every New England journalist was doing everything short of sacrificing virgins and small animals to pagan gods in order to get Clemens onto the Sox roster before the trading deadline I'd say MiB has a point.

None of those online gamecasts work well on my brokedick desktop comuter, so I'm simply following the commentary on Orangewhoopass.com. You oughta check it out. Entertaining to follow along with, and the occassional user editorial comments are usually humorously profane. Plus, most of the users are fairly knowledgeable so there's very little in the way of "Yur STOOPID!" comments.

Cannibal, The Musical simply for having the greatest commentary track of all time. Seriously though, it depends on what you want. Commentaries, alternate/deleted scenes, behind the scenes features, etc. I've got a soft spot for the Fight Club 2 disc edition (the one in the brown paper wrapper). The multiple angles of scenes, the deleted and alternate scenes, and the commentaries are all well done and entertaining if not informative. The only quibble I have is that they spliced together Helena Bonham Carter's commentary and the Norton/Pitt commentary. Not a major problem though, and you could tell that everyone (especially Pitt) enjoyed the process of making the movie. Plus the [ackaging itself is very good (the cheery Pitt with the thumbs-up) and the liner notes detailing how the book became a movie (complete with negative critic reviews) are a fairly good read for being simple filler material. Clerks X and Band of Brothers are very well done as well.

I watch too much wrestling. I saw this and all I could think of was JR saying, "Lita jerks Edge off....the ladder!"

That's why I said the bench INCLUDES so and so. It was almost 4:30 in the morning, I was kinda out of it. I actually did remember both after I submitted, but I didn't feel like editing it. As for Battier playing the 4, who can cover guys like Brand, Garnett, and Dirk? If JVG wants, he can slide McGrady over to the 4 and have Battier playing against the 3. Perimter quickness would suffer, but since the defensive scheme funnels everything towards the lane, that's not a big deal. I'd prefer to think that Van Gundy would try to get others to matchup with his team, not the other way around.

Paid $2.19 here in Houston last time I filled up (4 days ago), but I've seen it as low as $2.08 if I recall correctly. I'm in a fairly middle/upper-middle class neighborhood though so I'm sure you can find it under $2 if you look around a bit.

Even though this isn't in the spirit of the rest of the thread so far, I thought I'd throw in that according to ESPN.com, Bonzi Wells signs a a year deal with the Rockets. Contract has a player option for a 2nd year, but there's not a chance in hell Bonzi exercises it since that'll make the deal only $5 million over 2 years. Still though, for at least this year it gives the Rockets a starting 5 of: C - Yao Ming PF - Shane Battier SF - Tracy McGrady SG - Bonzi Wells PG - Rafer Alston With a bench that includes Dikembe Mutombo, Kirk Snyder, Casey Jacobsen, Steve Novak, Chuck Hayes, John Lucas III, and Vassillis Spanoulis, this gives Van Grumpy all sorts of matchups he can go to as the situation calls for it (small, big, outside shooting, defense). Assuming Bonzi doesn't go bonkers in an attempt to proves that he's worth what he thinks he's worth and instead plays like he did in the playoffs, this could be one of the better starting 5s in the league IMO.

At least he resisted the temptation to bring Oswalt back on short rest tonight and then again on Sunday as he was apparently thinking about doing. Yeah but I'm afraid Garner's going to throw Wandy out there to give his starters an extra day off somewhere down the stretch. The offense can't score 7 runs EVERY night.
-
At this point I think Garner's going to ride his horses into the ground if it gives him a better chance of winning. Of course given the Punch and Judy lineup the Astros have out there right now I have no idea how they're going to score.
-
Congrats. Now make it a habit and keep the Evil Empire South out of the postseason. Atlanta's already been knocked out.

Well, no reviews you lucky folks. Just felt like bumping. Only thing I've actually finished is Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure which is actually a pretty interesting take on your usual mecha anime. Nice artwork, good characters, and a fun little storyline. Only problem I had is that it fell apart a bit at the end in that the resolution didn't make sense in spots. I'm willing to blame it on something lost in translation on the dub though. Other than that, I enjoyed it. Working my way through Kimagure Orange Road and having trouble really getting into it. Something about it is turning me off of it. Can't put my finger on why.

Would this qualify as Microsoft putting a full-court press on Sony? Seems like they're trying to stomp out the competition before it's even out. Not that I blame them. -

GH 2 on the 360? AWESOME. The guitar looks kinda flimsy though. Still, the possiblity of downloading songs whenever you want is tempting. I would love it if there was a way you could request a track be translated into gameplay, but I imagine the copyright issues would make that impossible. Still, it makes my 360 all the more valuable to me. Now if I could just get the damn thing fixed. -
They jobbed out Yang? To SYLVAN? Christ Almighty. It sucks that it looks like he's going to end up as a Jobber to the Not Even Stars. I still have the Velocity series he did with London. The best 5 minute matches you'll ever see. I was worried with those first spoilers. I couldn't think of a single reason why they'd job out Turkay to Mysterio. The second set of spoilers make more sense.

So when an 8-8 or 9-7 NFL team or a 43-39 NBA team makes the playoffs the whole league looks like crap? MLB still has the lowest % of teams making the playoffs. To me, giving a 4th team the chance to make the postseason is a good thing.
-
Or even worse for MLB, the Astros and Reds tie a half game behind St. Louis. The Cards play their makeup game against SF and lose. You end up with a 3 way tie between the Cards, Reds, and Astros meaning an even longer delay.
-
I disagree. The WC offers teams another ray of hope. Imagine some team (like the Braves teams of the past) win 105 games in a year, while the 2nd place team wins 95 games, a record that would have won either of the other two divisions. Why should that 2nd place team be shut out of the playoffs? Sure, sometimes it leads to a mediocre team getting into the payoffs, but I think the positives outweigh the negatives. Edited to correct a stupid mistake.

If that's true, Sony can lick my balls. They're going to get their pound of flesh regardless of what someone does with the system, who gives a shit if they sell it on eBay? It's not like it's going to hurt their sales. Their "sudden" shortage of systems at launch took care of that.

I think Barney actually WAS teaching Marshall it's a dog-eat-dog world out there for dating. Barney was always setting up Ted ("Haaaave you met Ted?") because Ted had been single and knew the difficulties of meeting someone. Marshall had been in a relationship for 9 years. He had no idea what it was like. Barney's version of tough love.
