  1. Well, given Gaffney's departure (I was hoping the Texans would get him back) I think that drafting Bush would actually fill a need now. I see Bush as a flex-type player who can either lineup at receiver, split out from the backfield, or play running back. Considering that the top 3 WRs are now Andre Johnson (who needs someone to take some of the pressure off him), Derrick Armstrong (glue for hands, but separation is questionable) and Jerome Mathis (all kinds of speed, but mediocre route running) I can see the Texans justify taking Bush as a "need" pick. They might even take another receiver later on in the draft, like a Derek Hagan or Mike Haas. Plus, the Bengals still haven't matched their offer on Kevin Walter who might provide some decent depth. Combine that with a pass catching TE (paging Jeb Putzier or 2nd round pick) and I'd feel a little better about the Texans offense.
  2. C'mon Nevada give it up. You don't have Tracy McGrady on your team, and you're not playing the Spurs. It's over.
  3. This is funny because there are no credible main eventers lined up, post-WM on the Raw side. And if there were, HHH would just emasculate them and they'd be forced to recognize how great he is. I mean, how is HHH going to satisfy his ego by having more title reigns than Flair when there's no one he should lose the belt to?
  4. Looks like Tennessee will somehow win this one. Possum Hollar goin' to partee down tonite!
  5. They're hooking everyone this year so they'll all pay for it next year when they can't imagine following the tournament without it. OK, I'm a tad cynical. But realistic.
  6. I'm rooting for Nevada because the basketball gods are probably willing to allow only one 12 seed winning and I'm still pulling for A&M.
  7. This Wingate guy for Tenn. is really irritating me. You're not up by 30, stop screaming like a banshee when you're left open off the double team and dunk.
  8. Starting to look like a bunch of brackets are safe.
  9. Horrible call. Could work out for Pacific though if he blows it.
  10. Making pull-up 3s on consecutive fast breaks. I get a sudden urge to quote the great Lou Brown: "Nice catch Hayes. Don't ever fuckin' do it again!"
  11. Awkward last couple of possessions there.
  12. That was a cold blooded 3 right there. Good job keeping the dribble alive too.
  13. Ok NOW OU is going bye-bye.
  14. Hold the phones people. The players might still bail Sampson out. They're finally able to hit a jumper.
  15. We may need to start taking away all of Dam's shoelaces and sharp objects in the next minute or two.
  16. For some reason the thought of an A&M/Iona second round game made me laugh a little bit. Actually, more than a little. It might happen and all, but I can imagine the broadcasters trying to sell it to the public.
  17. As well it should. It's a fantastic game, and is exactly what "Next-Gen" gaming is about. Damn near flawless. Yeah it's pretty damn awesome. Once some people I know (such as fellow board members) get online with it, I'm going to try online. I'm not great at it, so I'll probably get reamed. And "hyper-realism" mode is brutal. COD2 on "Veteran" status, with all the Germans suddenly turned into sharpshooters who specialize in one hit kills. I couldn't even make it out of the first mission.
  18. 'Zags looked PISSED, with like 1 or 2 guys clapping after they realized the cameras were on them. Penn was cheering except for one or two guys who didn't look happy at being stuck with Texas in the first round.
  19. I'd like to give a hearty "Fuck off" to Seth Davis for shitting on A&M's selection. 'Cuse/TAMU might very well be a dogfight of a 1st round game (assuming someone like Law or Kirk can stick with McNamara), and he's bitching that they got in at ALL, much less as a 12 seed? Jackoff. There's no way the Aggies get far enough, but UT/A&M part 4 would be fun to watch. All three meetings have been fairly close, especially the last two meetings.
  20. Texans start off the FA period with a, well, "Bang" might be an overstatement. They sign DE Anthony Weaver, QB Sage Rosenfels, and FB Jameel Cook. Also bringing in David Givens and Mike Flanagan on Sunday and hosted WR Kevin Walker and C Bob Hallen. Weaver's OK as a 4-3 DE, but from what I've heard it sounds like they overpaid (again). Rosenfels is a backup, as is Cook. Givens won't fit in the budget, but either Flanagan or Hallen will be an upgrade at center so McKinney can move his ass over to guard where he belongs.
  21. Benoit with the "Bloody Banana" style tights tonight. OK folks I'm out for now.
  22. Larry the Cable Guy has a movie.... Repent your sins, for the end of the world is nigh.
  23. Including worm advocates?
  24. Well, I think there's two reasons why Birchill didn't hit that as good as he usually does: 1)New ring boots than he's had before as well as ring attire. 2)William Regal was the one taking it, and may not have giving Birchill much to work with. Yeah, both valid reasons. Still, given the E's penchant for overreacting to "dangerous" moves, I'd just like him to hit it better.
  25. I was actually thinking that. Shit, if Cena can come out of a spaceship or whatever, they can pull the Tampa Bay Bucs ship outta their stadium for one night. Man, Paul nearly pulled a Lesnar on that C4. Better hit it better than that or they won't let him do it anymore.
