Teddy Hart will most likely be a main-eventer in the promotion, and Chris Hero could easily be one as well. Add those two to Homicide and Low Ki and any combination would make a worthwhile main event match.
-
I would think Black Friday would be the Homicide and Low Ki team Gary Hart managed in MLW.

X-Pac received a standing ovation after a match in California a month or two ago and independent wrestling fans are usually very vocal against superstars that just can't cut it, so that's a pretty good sign. I wouldn't mind seeing him back in WWE, he was a decent mid-card worker in '98 and he would still be a decent mid-card worker today. Diamond Dallas Page DID carry Bill Goldberg to a decent match at Halloween Havoc, which WCW showed in full the next night on Nitro, but his voice is a little too annoying to put behind the announcer's table.

I'm pretty sure Kane is stepping it up since this is his first REAL feud since his one-sided loss to Triple H a few years ago. I am not looking forward to Tyson Tomko getting more matches though, has he even hit one good kick the past few weeks he's been on RAW?

1999 & 2000 WCW PPVs watched by newbies...
JustJoe2k5 replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
Have your friends check out Spring Stampede '99, that is still one of my most favorite all-around PPVs from any promotion. -
IWA Mid-South Wrestling presented "A Prelude to Death" on Saturday night, May 22nd, at the Community Center Gym in Oolitic, Indiana. Here's what went down... 1. "Spyder" NATE WEBB def. "Fabulous" JOHN McCHESNEY via submission with the Web of Death to advance to the 2nd round of the NWA Indiana State Title Tournament. 2. J-ROCC def. EDDIE VENOM (w/ Nate Webb) & CHRIS KOLE in a three-way dance with a rollup while holding Venom's tights. 3. CHAD COLLYER def. "CK3" CONRAD KENNEDY III via submission with the Texas Cloverleaf. 4. IAN ROTTEN def. CASH FLO (w/ Jim Fannin) to advance to the 2nd round of the NWA Indiana State Title Tournament. 5. PETEY WILLIAMS def. "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES to advance to the 2nd round of the NWA Indiana State Title Tournament. 6. MAD MAN PONDO def. CORPORAL ROBINSON in a non-sanctioned No-Rope Barbed Wire Match main event. The event was filmed by IWA for home video release, with commentary by Dave Prazak, Jim Fannin, Mickie Knuckles, Nate Webb, and Conrad Kennedy III. IWA's next event at the Oolitic Community Center Gym will be 6/25 & 6/26 "King of the Death Matches 2004." Ian Rotten announced the first four entrants into the tournament to the crowd in Oolitic: Defending KOTDM Mad Man Pondo, JC Bailey, Wifebeater, and Ryan Boz. Tickets in non-ringside seating areas will go on sale during the coming weeks (stay tuned to the IWA web site for details). The last two rows of the bleachers in the Oolitic Gym will be sold for just $20 for a weekend pass ($10 per night). IWA returns to action next Saturday, 5/29 with the IWA World Tag Team Title Tournament in Highland, IN at the Lincoln Center, and next Sunday, 5/30 with the IWA Mid-South/NWA Midwest Women's Title Tournament in Hammond, IN at the National Guard Armory. For the latest IWA information, call the hotlines at 502-569-1701 in Louisville and 630-585-3958 in Chicago. Don't forget, next weekend, 5/29 & 5/30, IWA Mid-South, in association with the midwest office of the NWA, presents two big title tournaments in northern Indiana. Saturday, May 29th is the IWA World Tag Team Title Tournament at the Lincoln Center (2450 Lincoln Street) in Highland, Indiana. Bell time is 7:30pm. Tickets are $25, $20, and $15, and will be available at the door. They are also available in advance at the Lincoln Center box office. On the card: Chris Hero vs. Samoa Joe, Sabu vs. Jerry Lynn, plus a single elimination tournament consisting of B-Boy & Homicide, Black Jack Marciano & Eddie Kingston, CM Punk & Colt Cabana, M-Dogg 20 & Josh Prohibition, Tracy Smothers & Chris Hamrick, Nigel McGuinness & Chad Collyer, Brad Bradley & Ryan Boz, and Ricky Reyes & Puma. (The team of Ian Rotten & Steve Stone have pulled themselves out of the tournament due to internal friction between the two, and no longer wanting to team with one another.) Sunday, May 30th is the IWA Mid-South/NWA Midwest Women's Title Tournament at the National Guard Armory (located at 2530 173rd Street) in Hammond, Indiana, just under three miles away from the Lincoln Center! Tickets are $20, $15, and $10, and will be available at the door. On the card: A six-man tag team elimination match of Chris Hero & B-Boy & Homicide vs. CM Punk & BJ Whitmer & Samoa Joe, plus a one night single elimination tournament including Daizee Haze, Rain, Allison Danger, MsChif, Lacey, ODB, Angel Williams, Mickie Knuckles, Ariel, Tracy Brooks, and Mercedes Martinez. Also, take note that the originally scheduled date of June 4th for IWA's return to the National Guard Armory in Lafayette, IN has been moved to June 11th. Mark your calendars! If you'd like to help spread the word locally about our events by helping the IWA Street Team flyer, particularly during the latter half of this coming week for the Hammond & Highland shows, send an E-mail to [email protected] with your contact information. Stay tuned to iwamidsouthwrestling.com for all of the latest updates, and call the IWA hotlines at 502-569-1701 in Louisville or 630-585-3958 in Chicago. I'm guessing A.J. Styles vs. Petey Williams rocked the house, but Nate Webb is my pick to take the title. May 29th is looking like another can't-miss show from IWA Mid-South, with Chris Hero vs. Samoa Joe, Jerry Lynn vs. Sabu, and the loaded tag team tournament. I'm hoping for a B-Boy and Homicide vs. C.M. Punk and Colt Cabana semi-final or final.

I understand what Ring of Honor is trying to do by establishing new superstars and new angles, but without A.J. Styles and Christopher Daniels headlining these shows seem kind of weak. Independent wrestling as a whole has seemed to be losing popularity over the past couple of months, with IWA Mid-South being the only promotion putting on shows that I would pay to see. And about the World title situation, extended title reigns do build prestige but at this point anyone Samoa Joe would lose to would probably hurt his credibility. He has beaten guys like A.J. Styles, Briscoe Brothers, Bryan Danielson, Christopher Daniels, and Homicide, C.M. Punk is busy with Ricky Steamboat, so there is really no challenger who could live up to the standards of Samoa Joe's other opponents.

I think the Conn Smythe would either go to Iginla, Primeau, and Khabibulin. Calgary, Philadelphia, and Tampa Bay would not be in their spots right now if it wasn't for those three guys, if Philadelphia can win tonight and make it to the Stanley Cup Finals, then Primeau is pretty much a lock no matter the result.

What is Rich Eisen doing? Bring him back!! The only sports I really pay any attention to are hockey and college basketball during the NCAA tournament. I usually turn on ESPNews when I'm going to sleep, so I don't really care what ESPN does. I also don't like the fact that ESPN promoted itself as the man's channel, and now they are showing women's college basketball and have women anchors on Sportscenter.
-
I think Justice winning is pretty much a given, and I'm glad because I really want to see more of him.
-
And in-ring confrontation between C.M. Punk and Ricky Steamboat has been signed for 5/22, so if that guy was marking out over an armdrag he'll probably pass out during this. As for someone who could take the World title off of Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels WAS an easy choice, but now the only possible one would be Homicide. Samoa Joe has had over a year with the belt, I think it is time to see what someone else can do with it and Homicide can work pretty much any style just like Samoa Joe.

If I were you I would go for a free DVD of the show and free tickets to their next event. The DVD for ruining the rest of the show for you, and the free tickets for wrongfully accusing you of something you didn't do.

Unless she really has herpes, I don't know why she would go off on you for something like that. People used to chant that at Tammy Lynn Sytch all of the time and she never reacted like that, and I wouldn't be surprised if Jasmin herself has had that chanted at her. Whatever, I think it is bullshit that she owns 3PW. You got any results for last night's 3PW show?

Big Match Announced for 5/30 IWA Show
JustJoe2k5 replied to Phoenix Fury Legdrop's topic in General Wrestling
I wouldn't be surprised if they gave that match close to a hour, and I also wouldn't be surprised if the fans are chanting "Match of the Year!" at the end of it. -
I would think Chris Benoit's win against Great Sasuke from the Super J-Cup '94 would be the centerpiece Japanese match on the set.

3PW This Saturday (Matthews, Lynn, Styles)
JustJoe2k5 replied to 1234-5678's topic in General Wrestling
Pretty good card, although A.J. Styles vs. Christopher Daniels is getting a little overplayed around the independent circuit. Jerry Lynn vs. Joey Matthews should be a really good old school match, and I wouldn't be too surprised to see Jerry Lynn walk out with the title although I'm almost certain Joey Matthews will retain. -
That music they play in the opening of every game, is that a real song or something special made for the NHL Playoffs?
-
Bret Hart and Owen Hart also had a one-on-one match on the Action Zone, it may have been the first episode, it was pretty submission based. They also had a Lumberjack match on Wham, Bam, Bodyslam and a No Holds Barred match on Brawl in the Family.
-
WrestleRave '03 is pretty good, but it really is a one match show with Homicide vs. Trent Acid, but that one match is very good. It also has A.J. Styles vs. Chris Sabin, which is good but is WAY too short. Death Before Dishonor is considered one of the best RoH shows by alot of people, I've never seen it so I can't really give you any opinion.
-
I live in North Carolina, so the only thing I can do is follow all of these great promotions over the internet and envy everyone who goes to the shows. Were you at one of the shows that had A.J. Styles vs. Colt Cabana? I've heard great things about both of the matches.
-
Another great show from one of the most underrated independent promotions in te United States. Hopefully, we'll get another A.J. Styles vs. Chris Sabin match for the Super Indy title, or maybe even a Chris Sabin vs. Christopher Daniels match. Either way, Chris Sabin was a great choice to win the tournament.
-
I've heard really good things about 1/10, not sure of the name but it has A.J. Styles vs. Homicide as one of the feature matches. At Our Best and the Second Anniversary Show are both great as well. TopNotchTapes.com is a very good place to buy cheap videos that are very good quality.
-
They should just include the Sabu thing as a hidden feature, as they only go through about two or three moves before the injury occurs. It's on one of ECW's DVDs. I think they should include the Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit match, I believe, from a Smackdown between Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania where Benoit bleeds buckets.
-
I wonder if this means no more booking Corporal Robinson, Mad Man Pondo, Necro Butcher, and Wifebeater. If they don't have any deathmatches, then those guys are pretty much worthless.

Wouldn't surprise me if the mystery man is Low Ki, isn't he supposed to be at the World-1 show earlier in the day?
