  1. RAW: ORTON A mention of him started off the show (Bischoff saying Orton was screwed in the Rumble, and Jericho and Van Dam are embarrassments compared to him) He had the first match of the card. He was in the last part of the show For the past few weeks, we have had to see the commercials calling him "The New Hardcore Legend" complete with clips of one Randy Orton. He lasted roughly 30 minutes in the Royal Rumble, coming in at #2. Is pretty much the only heel, besides HHH, to defeat his opponents cleanly. RVD(twice), Hurricane(after Hurricane gave one of those "Believe in me" speeches), Val Venis ......I don't know, seems to me that he's being shoved down our throats.
  2. Well, what would YOU like to read in the Raw thread? Should everybody who reads it provide play-by-play? If you're looking for that, read Dames's review or go to 411 or something. You have a wide choice. Should the Raw thread be filled with people screaming "JERICHO!!!" "ORTON!!!!" "IT'S FOLEY!!!" "WHOA!! IT'S BENOIT!!" ? Personally, I know I get unbelievably bored having to scroll down and read 10 people screaming the name of a person or a move in a match. So I don't know....the Raw thread seems pointless if it turns into that. Face it. The Raw thread is a place for one-liners. Jokes to be made about the show, jokes to be made about other posters, remarks about a match or interview that takes place. Consider it as if you're in an arena with a whole bunch of other smarks. Not everyone will get along, people around you will be telling jokes - some hilarious, some painfully unfunny -, and some will be providing play-by-play to those that can't see the show. That's how the Raw thread is, and I really don't see a problem with it.
  3. I'm an RVD fan. I don't like Chris Benoit. Shockingly enough, I'm NOT too excited after last night.
  4. Not at all. I mean, Christ, there wasn't a mention of Sheriff Austin in this preview ANYWHERE!
  5. His religion is irrelevant. He won't win because he has NO core principles whatsoever. His religion is definitely not irrelevant. Many people strictly will not vote for him based on: a) He's jewish b) One day out of seven, he won't be able to work. It's sad that much of the country is like this, but it is. Look past California and the East Coast.....you now have southern and central America, where race, religion, and even sex means a LOT.
  6. The entire reason for his failing health. Of course if you eat food that should sparingly be ingested three times in one day for a whole month, that is going to happen. I would actually care if he got the same results from eating at McDonald's 3 dinners a week while otherwise retaining his normal eating habits and fell under the same condition. Actually, THAT'S not even really his problem. If you desired to, you can eat relatively healthy at McDonalds. Egg McMuffin, hotcakes, or parfait for breakfast - salad with chicken and vinegarette dressing for lunch - hamburger/cheeseburger/grilled chicken sandwich/etc. for dinner. Throw in a small - occassionally medium fries - and you're not hurting yourself too bad. But in the article, it says that when the cashier asked, he ALWAYS super-sized. Having all those salty, fried potatoes and sugary drinks is just asking for trouble. The experiment was done with bias intended. He WANTED to prove that McDonalds could make you sick which is why he constantly supersized. The only ones that supersize all the time are the same fatties that are blaming the restaurant for making them fat in the first place. And clearly, we can see just how healthy they are. If the guy wanted to, he could have actually made an interesting documentary that would actually prove something. With moderation, COULD you theoretically eat at McDonalds for 30 days? Instead, he set an experiment that was doomed to fail.
  7. Just apply for a job with Disney. Those cartoonists do it all the time.
  8. Are you implying that the movie wasn't that good?
  9. Before this article, I thought Bush would just feast on souls when hungry. Now I know he eats ribs. Personally, I found this article to be INCREDIBLY informative.
  10. Huge difference between speaking up and trying to improve the show ("Hey guys, let's go out there and work HARDER tonight. Really make the fans happy!") and making incredibly stupid threats (Use the Internet, and I'll kill you!") The first one is made in an attempt to inspire you. The second one is made in a dumb attempt to scare you, and will only continue to hurt the status of the locker room.
  11. Hell, doesn't mean anything to me. Just pointing out that this kind of incident is not an isolated one and that the guy seriously has a reputation of being an asshole. I NEVER said he had to be a nice guy to be a professional wrestler. I said it would be better if he weren't such a douchebag but....what can you do? Guys can work together and do skits for the crowd together even if they don't like each other. See "Triple H/Rock" and "Triple H/Austin". Not saying it's for sure that they dislike each other, but how can you say for sure that they DO like each other? Just because it's pre-determined? They still work and train EXTREMELY hard so, although the results are known beforehand, I would consider it a sport. How many years ago? A few? Maybe 5? It's not like he said it when he was a reckless kid. It was only a few years ago! Yes, he now knows more about it and probably appreciates it more but truth be told, the same guy that did call wrestling "a joke" only a little while ago is now giving speeches to guys that have been in it much longer than he has and haven't disrespected it like he has. Or they realize that this is management's speech to them and they should keep their mouths shut. Unfortunately, Brock doesn't look like he took it that way. How long have these men been in the business? Keep in mind Brock has been in WWE less than 2 YEARS, and literally has had this stuff handed to him. His career has been WAY too short for him to have such a huge ego. And we're not talking about his storylines directly here. Word got out about his match at Mania and he threatens to "kill anyone he sees on the Internet."? You could SURELY express your words in another way, without being such a prick about it. Who's everyone? I wouldn't. An asshole is an asshole. We're not talking about "Hey guys, let's go out there and put out a better product for the fans." We're talking about "Use the Internet, and I'll fucking kill you." There's a HUGE difference. I doubt veterans are that stupid to make such a useless threat, but it seems Brock did it both to impress Vince and fill his own ego as a "locker room leader." Leadership is one thing. This certainly does not smack of leadership.
  12. I hope that was sarcasm. I'm actually shocked there hasn't been more hate towards Brock now. Sorry.....I don't see where my sarcasm would be here. Brock has had a history so far of being an asshole. I know it's only rumors and everything but we've heard of him refusing to sign any autographs, being a dick at publicity appearances, not listening to Angle before one of their matches....the guy has a reputation of being an asshole. And this just further cements that opinion. Brock can be angry. But it sounds like what he did was much too excessive. First off, to get up in front of people that are older than him, have way more professional wrestling experience than him, and have never been quoted as calling the sport "a joke", and make such a speech is terribly hypocritical. For someone that's been handed all his wrestling success so far on a silver platter, he should learn to keep his mouth closed in certain instances like this. Then, to threaten any wrestler that GOES on the Internet....what the fuck? From the sounds of this, Brock's ego is TREMENDOUSLY huge. What he did goes against just being angry and steps right into the field of being conceited, egocentric, and just all-around douchebaggery. And I'm a little shocked that not many people see a problem with his comments - possibly because he puts on decent matches. If HHH was the one to say this, once again, we would see a Smark outcry of hatred and passion. But not so here, just because it was Brock. Nobody should be excused for being an asshole, even if he is okay at his job.
  13. Then General Manager Urkel can develop a formula where he can take those hair ashes from the fire and turn them into a new kind of hair that grows back on Goldberg and gives him even stronger powers and then.... .....ah shit, wrong thread.
  14. I smell an angle. While he's sleeping in his locker room, Randy Orton sneaks in with an eletric razor. He shaves off Goldberg's beard and leaves him clean-shaven but Goldberg doesn't know it yet. Then, later that night, during his match with Batista, Goldberg tries to lift him up. But he CAN'T! That dastardly Randy Orton shaved Goldberg's beard and without it, Goldberg has lost all his strength! He is then easy pickings for Evolution. This sets up a top-notch Goldberg/Orton feud and continues to cement Randy's reputation as the LEGEND KILLER~! The thing writes itself.
  15. Personally, I think it's Trish and all her damn Smart-Mark interviews.
  16. Kick-wham-spear? that doesnt sound right.. Which is exactly why it will be done Well, the eyerake has become a popular setup move for finishers lately. It'd fit in perfectly with Goldberg's tough-guy character. *Kane waves his hand around waiting to chokeslam Goldberg. Goldberg gets up slowly.....and POKES KANE IN THE EYE!* Kane: Holy shit, my eye! *Goldberg SPEARS Kane* And the match is over. That should flow into the match better than kick-wham-spear. Now kick-wham-trip-growl SURELY could work.
  17. Why? He's leaving anyway. Well, most times I'd agree but Vince McMahon, in his infinite wisdom, has decided to revolve the biggest show of all-time WRESTLEMANIA XX around a guy that has 3 moves and will be leaving the federation immediately following the PPV. He already looks bad in the ring. Why make him look worse if you're hoping that his match with Brock will pop a huge buyrate? Hmmm....now that I think about it, this whole mess shall work out well.
  18. I don't think this quote got enough love.
  19. C'mon now, they blew spots in RVD/Orton, as well, with the blown ref bump in the corner being the most obvious one. Agreed. But the match was CERTAINLY better than Jericho/Henry in absolutely any way. I don't see in what context Jericho/Henry can even be considered equal to the RVD/Orton match.
  20. ......that match was TERRIBLE. Imagine.....a MARK HENRY match is being used to teach other guys how to work. Forget the fact that we have a perfectly decent RVD/Orton match that told a perfectly decent story.....we're using Mark Fucking Henry as an example. And the match was not only terribly boring but like this article said, there were several blown spots. I just can't understand why they have used this match to teach the other wrestlers.... .....shit, the Henry stank has gotten to Vince's head. Just goes to show you how too much success can go straight to one's head. This isn't the first time we've heard of Brock being a prick and I'm sure it won't be the last. I'm just speechless..... Between this and the other thread about getting rid of Goldberg's jackhammer, it just further proves that Vince is on the downward spiral into senility. This ought to be a fun ride.
  21. If you're signed onto your AOL and AIM name at the same time, you'll get that message. This may not be the case right here, but this is what usually happens. Even if you sign off AOL, it will still say you're signed in 2 - sometimes 3 - different places. Doesn't necessarily mean someone hacked into your account.
  22. -Held down by Nickelodeon.
