...... ...... ...... ......so then please explain to me what his "Hall of Fame Retirement" tour was all about. ....... ....... .......I'm still trying to let that statement sink in. .......

You know what, that pissed me off more than anything else, more than not getting Vlad. This guy hit like .180 last year, he was godawful, his at bats are torture to watch. But what do they do, resign Tony Clark who had several clutch homers last year, nope, bring back Shinjo who's a good defensive outfielder....nope....we resign the biggest waste of space on last years roster.....he can sit next to the 44 year old middle reliever. But....but.....he has a history of hitting off Randy Johnson. SURELY that makes him an asset to the team. What can I say? Wilpon has a hard-on for John Franco and Joe McEwing. While we're talking about stupid Mets ideas, shall we mention now or later the whole hiring of permanent GM Jim Duquette. Considering he had a LOUD voice behind Steve Phillips's moves, what sense does it make to now put this guy in charge of the team? He basically has the same philosophy and, as we have seen, he'd rather settle for signing subpar players cheaply than signing all-stars for a price a little higher. And when are we going to see all this prospects Duquette traded for....? We traded our failed players to get money back and to get prospects for the future? Besides Royce Ring, I hear absolutely nothing about these prospects. And Wilpon looks like he'd rather buy a ninth golden limo for the family than spend any actual money on the team. What a bust all those trades looked like. "Hey! I got an idea! Let's trade Burnitz when he's finally getting hot at the plate!" But then again, not many other GMs even wanted to INTERVIEW for the position, since the prodigal son Jeff Wilpon sparks such hatred between others involved in baseball. .....but wait, where was I? Ah, yes. Mets going all the way this year.

You forgot the Mets, I'm sure the Mets don't enjoy Clemens. Yeah, but who really cares about them? *raises hand* So we have a Japanese player that is completely untested with American baseball......and an outfielder that we signed for millions yet only hits .250......and a new closer that has a worse reputation than Benitez, the former scrub of New York.....and two starting pitchers nearing 40.....and a relief pitcher that will be applying for social security soon, but is still going despite coming off Tommy John surgery and absolutely no fan wanting him back......and a rotation of Roger Cedeno, Timo Perez and Jeff Duncan in right field, which is enough to make any team fall into hysterics..... Mets are going all the way this year. Just wait until they sign the ZEILE! You forgot the catcher who seems too selfish to move to first, yet continues to deteriorate in front of our eyes. How about the first basemen who missed almost all of last year, will miss all of this year, and yet STILL won't retire. Then there's the 3rd baseman, who I like, who hits 11 homers. Oh oh. Don't forget our utility man. We got rid of John Valentin last season. Got rid of Tony Clark this season. But by gawd, we kept Joe McEwing. GO SUPER JOE! Hop in and out of that batter's box like a jumping bean! Not like you want a .200+ average or anything!!

Wrestlers Upset Over Coach/Vince/Ross Fiasco
NYU replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in TSM Classic Threads
Fiasco? The announcing was the only GOOD part of Raw last week!! In fact, I haven't enjoyed commentating like that since JR/Heyman were paired up. The only redeeming part of Raw, and they want to say that it was a complete mess. I can safely say the JR/Lawler/Coach team is WAY WAY above the illogical, boring, unentertaining commentary we have come to expect every Monday night. -
.....again, I don't see why. If the game after GTA III took place in Liberty City with the same guy and the same characters, with the story starting immediately following the ending of GTA III, then yes, I would agree that it would be an expansion. But how can you call an entirely NEW game - new characters, new location, new story.....just with the same gameplay - an expansion? I still look at it as its own game.
-
Why would Vice City be just an expansion? Entirely new characters in a new location with a new story set in a new location. Just because the gameplay is relatively the same doesn't make it an expansion. It was still a different game from the past one and should be looked at as one. Unofficially, GTA: Vice City is GTA IV. I don't see any problem with that at all, especially since Vice City built upon the previous game and, in various ways, was an improvement over GTA III

Also, I've been known to borrow this quote from Goodfellas from time to time. "But, I'm funny how? Funny like a clown? I amuse you? I make you laugh? I'm here to fuckin' amuse you? What is so funny about me? What the FUCK is so funny about me? Tell me. Tell me what's funny."

Whoa. No one's mentioned the "You talkin to me?" line from Taxi Driver. May be the line most copied from a movie ever.
-
Could you change my name to NY Untouchable ? Thanks.

What makes you think he was talking about you?
-
Perhaps this means he'll sign with the Mets then?! *crosses fingers* ...... *uncrosses fingers* *has strong desire to kick Fred Wilpon in his nuts*

I thought Anglesault would be interested in this.

Just looked it up. Keen Eddie premieres on Bravo on Tuesday, January 20th at 9/8pm. Good. That show didn't get enough backing from Fox. It was definitely better than some of the crap they play now, so I'm happy to see that at least the repeats are being shown on Bravo. If it does good enough, we might get newer episodes later on. Plus Sienna Miller....

Mets May Swipe Slugger From Orioles Grasp ESPN.com news services The Mets reportedly have made an offer to Vladimir Guerrero, and now may have more than just a puncher's chance to snag the coveted free agent. The Mets offered Guerrero a three-year deal, according to several published reports. The deal is worth $30 million, and could be worth up to $40 million if Guerrero meets all the incentive clauses, according to Newsday. The Orioles have a standing offer of five years and $65 million, which is below what Guerrero expected to get on the open market. Since Baltimore has not upped its offer recently, the door may be more than slightly ajar for the Mets, even though they cannot match the Orioles in terms of money or years. According to The New York Times, Mets officials are "not very hopeful, but who knows?" Mets general manager Jim Duquette refused comment on Guerrero's status during a conference call on Thursday. The Mets did not intend to go after any "big ticket" free agents this winter, but their success in adding Kazuo Matsui and Mike Cameron may have changed their thinking on Guerrero. A source familiar with Guerrero told Newsday on Thursday that he has grown reluctant to sign with Baltimore. The Mets believe the lure of playing in New York -- and staying in the National League -- would appeal to Guerrero, but they are not willing to move beyond a three-year offer after getting burned by the Mo Vaughn trade before the 2002 season. Vaughn's career is currently in jeopardy, after announcing Thursday that he will miss the entire 2004 season due to severe knee problems. Both the Mets and Orioles have expressed some concern about the back problems Guerrero suffered last season. Guerrero missed close to two months last season because of a herniated disk but was terrific after returning, finishing the season with a .330 average, 25 home runs and 79 RBI for the Expos. ----------------------------------------------- Eh, as huge a Mets fan as I am, I doubt Guerrero will be signing with them. The offer's GOOD - but I don't think it's really what he's looking for. My prediction is he'll still sign with Baltimore. But if he WERE to sign with the Mets.....shit, this could actually be a pretty decent season afterall.

Last month, I posted some spoilers regarding NWO 2004, Chris Benoit, Summerslam 2004 and credited Raymond Rougeau. One week later, Meltzer told the same story. That's why some people tend to believe me.... So when is Scott Keith planning to release his first book on the internet so all can read it? If I remember correctly, you said that would be happening too....

Exchanged it for a silver dollar?

Why, I'm shocked. I thought for sure Mo would make a stirring comeback, like he vowed he would. End sarcasm.

If Suckbag is still heatless come Mania, they'll do a lot more than Hart. Well, I'm sure Andre the Giant isn't buried that deep underground. He was cremated. Really?! Well, that's why they made glue.... Randy Orton overness, here we come.

........ ........ ......so let me get this straight. The fact that this guy abused your girlfriend didn't bother Yelena AT ALL. The fact that this guy possibly abused Yelena didn't bother her AT ALL. But she hears that this guy got a broken nose because your girlfriend stuck her fingernails into his eyes, and you got a cheap shot, and now it's "OH GOD! HE'S SO WRONG FOR ME! WE'RE BROKEN UP!"? ....... ....... .......either this girl is the dumbest bitch ever, or this whole storyline is one of the stupidest ever. One or the other....hmmm....

They just go around and ask a wrestler 5 basic questions. What are you expecting, a shoot interview? Explosions. Lots and lots of explosions. And maybe a flying monkey here or there. Overall, a pretty good True or False, though I do find it odd that they would ask their PSYCHO MONSTER to answer these questions so honestly. Considering they seem to be promoting kayfabe a little more again, they could have chose somebody else out of the dozens and dozens of wrestlers they have. But I'm not really complaining since we didn't have to deal with more Bradshaw comments. So it's all good to me.

Eh, she's not fat. Ugly......YES! Bitchy.....YES! Fat.....not really. And did anyone else think Paris Hilton looked a LOT less unattractive without makeup? I mean, I know that's pretty normal and all, but I got some serious Torrie Wilson vibes from that.

Shit, I know this doesn't console a lot but don't worry about it too much. You're not going to find out about the results for 3 weeks, and there's absolutely no point in making these next 3 weeks a living, nervous hell. Just try to relax a little. If you happen to have cancer, you can get treatment for it and hopefully you got it while it's still young. If you don't have it, then, of course, that's amazing news. I know it's extremely hard to try not to think about it, but at least attempt it. No point completely stressing over it at this point if there's nothing you can do. Just relax. I wish you the best of luck in this and very sincerely hope you don't have it. If you do, I sincerely hope you get it 100% cured. I know how difficult dealing with cancer could be. Good luck.

Well, the answer to all 3 questions is: Love is Magical. Munky: But what about the.... Love is magical!
