If you're going to be the Heavyweight Champion, and get paid 1.5 million dollars, then you should be giving the federation their money's worth. Guys have to learn to adapt. We've all seen that Goldberg could do the 30-second squash well. But if he's going to be a money guy, and a guy that's supposed to carry a PPV based on his name and the match he's in, then he has to realize things are going to change. He MUST take some punishment and then come back later on. He HAS to be able to put on a 15-20 minute match, which requires much more than a spear and jackhammer. He has no depth, as we've seen from his fairly weak PPV singles matches with Triple H and the Rock. Yet, he refuses to attempt to change that - and that's the problem.

Word backstage in WWE is that Goldberg is once again very unhappy with how he is being used by the company. Most feel that he is mainly unhappy because he had to drop the World Title to Triple H at Armageddon. While that might have something to do with his frustration, sources indicate that he is really unhappy over WWE not booking his character properly. In WCW, Goldberg was pushed as more dominant than all his opponents, while in WWE he is often beaten down for much of a match before making a comeback. Goldberg met with Vince McMahon at Armageddon and told him he is not happy with how he is being used. This led WWE to make many changes to RAW on Monday. The entire Goldberg/La Resistance angle was added to the show as a last minute attempt to please Goldberg. Goldberg is also apparently unhappy that he is "only" being paid his $1.5 million dollar downside deal and not getting any bonuses. Of course, WWE is not really giving many bonuses to any wrestler since business is down. Right....right.....that's even fucking worse!
-
I don't think the outrage would have been near as great if they just put it in the middle of the fucking show. Then, you could have the faces looking worried and wondering what happened, while Bischoff and the heels gloated but also wondering a little. Instead, they just alienated a whole lot of people - especially the crowd - who may not want to turn back next week, thinking they would be fed bullshit and screwed over once again.
-
Stupid fucks. If they were going to do that, put it in the middle of the show and then show the aftermath in the last hour. Now, they just alienated the fans in the arena and the fans watching at home by bringing a pretty good Raw, then doing one of the worst Bait and Switches I've ever seen. I wouldn't be surprised if ratings go down a considerable amount next week. Fans don't like to be fucked around with, and this proved to be a huge waste of time.

the only push Jericho is getting any time soon BA-DA-BUM-CHHHHHHHH!
-
I think the last time they fought was when Kane won the Intercontinental Title from Jericho sometime last year before No Mercy. I just remember it was a pretty long match for a Raw....
-
How the hell was Booker T/Christian great? I don't even remember those 2 matches you're talking about. All of their meetings have been pretty average and, well, underwhelming. Absolutely nothing out of their matches is standing out to me, especially their ones on Raw.
-
If you are talking about 2003, I'd like to see you list these "tons of great matches" that took place on Raw this year. RVD/Christian was a forgettable, but crazy ladder match. Flair/HHH in Greenville was great...other than that I can't think of anything on Raw that was good this year. Well, no. I wasn't sure if you meant that's one of the best Free TV Raw Matches in Raw History, or just this year. It was one of the greatest Raw matches this year, but not near one of the best in Raw's history. Anyway, I still remember some of the huge spots in that Van Dam/Christian Ladder Match, including the crowd going crazy. But HHH/Flair would be somewhere on the list of top Free-TV Raw matches this year.
-
I'm assuming you mean with this current roster, because there has been tons of great matches on Raw ahead of that one. And while that match was great, in my opinion, there's another Raw match that beats it this year: RVD vs. Christian in a Ladder Match for the IC Title. One of my favorite matches all year.
-
Hope not. a) They're both heels b) They've had shitty matches together before
-
Finally.....something worthwhile. Later, Fuck Goldberg

Taker/Kane vs. Kronik at Unforgiven 2001. So bad that Taker supposedly threw a tantrum after the match, and one of the Kronik members (forget which one) wound up being fired almost immediately.

Matches Scheduled for Raw: - Mark Henry & Matt Hardy vs. Booker T & Maven - Chris Jericho & Christian vs. Lita & Trish - Jon Heidenreich vs. Rico .....er, did they forget that one match happened on the PPV last night, one match happened on Heat last night, and the other match is just a mix-and-match rehash of two matches that happened last night? But, wait....gotta be optimistic.... BATTLE OF THE SEXES!!! PART 2!!!!

I know it's like people don't want to be entertained. Well, you can't TELL people what to be entertained by, You might find Evolution holding all the titles entertaining, while other fans are bored by the entire thing. Rob Van Dam or Booker T competing for the World Heavyweight title might entertain some fans, but it could alienate other fans as well. I don't think anyone watches Raw and says "I better not be friggin entertained tonight, god dammit!!" I'm sure people want to enjoy the show, but you can't shove it down their throats and call it entertaining, if it's something they have absolutely no interest in seeing.
-
The fact that Evolution has all the gold and will be talking mad shit tonight alone is the bright side. Not to mention the tease of Austin coming back and Foley. The makings for a damn good RAW. Triple H......Mick Foley.....Steve Austin.....three focal points of Raw. Holy fuck, are we back in 1999?!

So you're not polluting the voting pool with your idiotic vote. Could you please do the same with the genetic pool by not breeding? Oh look. Now we're going to include unnecessary, unfunny, nasty comments in the Current Events folder....that's a shock. Taking lessons from some of the other posters around here, are we? You were able to get your point across without looking like an asshole - why change your method? My view: They caught Saddam. Good for the troops. THEY did what they set out to do, and accomplished the goal THEY were given. Bush's first goal in the war on terrorism was to bring Bin Laden to justice, that ultimate evildoer...you know, the guy responsible for 9/11. Let him accomplish THAT goal, then I'll say he did a good job. The troops in Iraq get an A for doing their job and doing it well. Bush gets an incomplete.

The One and Only Survivor: Pearl Islands Thread
NYU replied to fairtoflair7's topic in Television & Film
Out of the Final Four, Sandra was second behind Jon in the most deserving department. I don't know why people keep saying she was the one who pretty much flew under the radar. She came up with her own pretty clever plans. Taking Tijuana behind those bushes to hear Jon and Burton talking....coming up with the Sandra/Lil/Darrah alliance to get rid of Burton....Sandra wasn't too bad with the plans at all. Plus, she was entertaining and actually had a PERSONALITY. Not like Darrah or DumbBitch Lil. Cursing at people if she wanted to....throwing out fish so the others can't have it....hiding things if she thought she was getting voted out....she made for good television! Plus, Sandra was one of the only people on the island that showed a sense of humor when it came to her confessionals. I would have liked to see Jonny Fairplay win, but I have absolutely no problem with Sandra winning. I just don't see where this "under-the-radar/riding coattails" thing came from. She knew how to take care of herself and devise plots. Meanwhile, Lil flip-flopped and cried about everything, while Darrah sat there with a blank look on her face. Mostly, I was just happy Lil lost - and with a 6-1 vote. I have never seen anyone on that show blow the final tribal council like she did. Talk about self-destructing.... -
Well, in the problem, you have to assume that it's falling in a vacuum, where everything falls at the same speed, with an acceleration of 9.81 m/s^2. In a vacuum, a bowling ball and a feather would reach the ground at the exact same time. If it's just thrown off a roof, obviously the wind would make the feather fall after the bowling ball. But for physics problems, you just have to assume there is absolutely no wind, which is pretty much a vacuum. Ugh, I just wasted Post 900 on a Physics problem....and I sucked at Physics. Fucking 68 on the NYS Regents....

I agree. None of these fuckers have any integrity anymore. He probably got one million extra per year to go to Boston. Big whoop. If you like a city and an organization - why not make a sacrifice? If you're gonna play baseball, you play for two reasons To make money and win. If you see a better shot to do both of these somewhere else, you'd have to be a retard to not take it. So Pettitte is a retard? Certainly. He took less money to go to a team that gave him less of a chance to win. The logic eludes me. A tiny thing called respect. He got none from Steinbrenner. Steinbrenner made no serious attempt to sign Pettitte. He didn't visit him and try to convince him to resign. He didn't sit Pettitte down and explain to him how important he is to the team. Instead, he offered an aging and declining Sheffield $39 million, and actually expected Pettitte to take a paycut. Georgie Boy watched as Pettitte was given impressive offers from Houston and other teams, and only near the end tried to make a good offer. Too little, too late. Pettitte, and almost all Yankee fans, could see that Andy wasn't high on George's list of worthwhile players to the Yankees. Pettitte wasn't considered a cornerstone of the Yankee organization....he was considered a pitcher than can easily be replaced, and it was shown in Steinbrenner's actions. Just keep in mind that George tried to trade Pettitte various times during Andy's 9 year career with the Yanks but, when it really counted, Georgie refused to swallow his pride, admit he was wrong, and make a plea to bring Pettitte back. Let's not forget the ultimate slap to the face. In the same press release talking about how Pettitte will be missed (we'll skip over the coldness of those words), he says "If you think the Yankees are done - don't bet the house on it." What the fuck? Once again, George's ego gets in the way of a letter that should have been used to praise the years Pettitte spent with the Yankees. How could you want to work for a person like that, when you're being offered millions and millions of dollars by a team that your family LIVES IN, has owners that will give you RESPECT, and yet still has a CHANCE to make a playoff run. For the way Andy had been treated, he made the right decison. Believe it or not, there ARE things more important than money. Georgie didn't give Pettitte the respect he deserved for being a cornerstone of the Yankees for 9 years, and Pettitte gave a figurative "Fuck You" to Steinbrenner by turning down his contract. Money does not equal respect. Good for Pettitte.

Best picture so far. That lady on the right with the purple coat is pretty funny.

OMG, DOWNHOME !! DOUBLE POST !!!

You could be right. He is. Besides, it was more of a sarcastic comment on 1wrestling.com for the completely unnecessary "news" they had on their website rather than commenting on Knox putting it up.

Finally, my burning question on the whereabouts of Stephanie's consultants has been answered.

I thought these were supposed to be funny pics.
