  1. I can't think of any possible connection the Warlord has to anyone on RAW.
  2. That match was phenomenal...like someone else said, Marty looked really good, but it didn't make Angle look weak, IMO. Please, WWE, sign this guy NOW. Just let him wrestle in the midcard on Smackdown, and I'll be happy. I thought he looked a little slow in parts, but maybe that is just making the adjustment to being in a WWE ring again. I think he wrestled really well overall, though. And man, a double axehandle off the top to the outside??? When's the last time anyone has done that on WWE TV?
  3. I really think Cena is way too gimmicky. I said this in another thread a while ago...it's just too much with the blurred out merchandise, the rapping, the chain, the "chain gang" references, the Word Life straps on his arms, and until recently, the spinning US Title. It all seems like a big crutch to conceal the fact that he doesn't do much in the ring. I wish he would wrestle like when he first debuted. Now he is basically like a boring version of Steve Austin in the ring. His finisher is just a glorified bodyslam from a fireman's carry, too.
  4. Sounds like a decent show...not excited by Booker T vs Reigns (Booker is just beyond stale), but everything else sounds interesting.
  5. Definitely Pac-Man should be a movie. Rob Schneider could play him.
  6. "Brewers 150-1" "Hope springs attorney." (in reference to the Brewers' new owner)
  7. I think most of the matches are around 10 minutes or less. Might've been a few longer than that, but it's been quite a while since I've watched those discs, so I'm not 100% sure. I think I paid about 50 bucks for the set when it first came out, directly from the Wrestling Gold website. It is interesting watching a match with the original commentary for the nostalgia, and then listening to Cornette and Meltzer, with all their insight. Definitely buy it if you have any interest in old school wrestling. My only criticism is that Detroit, Southwest, and Memphis seem heavily represented, and I wish they could've gotten stuff from a few other territories, like maybe Portland or World Class, but overall it is very good.
  8. Gee, that makes it sound even more interesting. A dead pudgy guy in his underwear. OK then...
  9. You can do that at almost any indy show. Might be cool if it was a real WWE ring though, I guess. They probably don't open a museum like that because they don't want to deal with constant smark questions like "Does Triple H run everything?" and "How many guys have done steroids in WWE?"
  10. The most hillarious thing on that RAW where HBK vacated the title was when he was making his way to the ring, slapping hands with fans, someone grabbed his wrist, I believe trying to take his watch! Shawn had to like, yank himself away from the guy.
  11. Maybe they could add a tag team to their group, like I dunno, La Resistance or something... ugh, that's probably a terrible idea, too. I don't really think Shelton should be turned to join them at this point....he still seems pretty over as a face, and the crowd seems to like him. Maybe Christian could join?
  12. Does anyone really care about a behind the scenes look of WWF in 1995, the company's shittiest year ever?

    PDAs...

    Anyone at all?
  14. Ditto for me. I'm sick of guest refs that really add nothing to the match anyway. Besides, it seems like they've used Foley as a special ref a bunch of times already. Plus he did the commisioner thing to death...frankly, if he's not coming back to wrestle or maybe manage someone, I don't want to see him on my TV screen anymore.
  15. Booooo!

    PDAs...

Hey all. I would like to get my wife a PDA for her birthday. Doesn't have to be super fancy, but should be able to do all the basic stuff well. I'd like to stay in the $200 range, or so. Can anyone recommend some models, or things to look out for? Thanks in advance, as I know nothing really about PDAs.
  17. It sounds like you just don't like WWE style, period. Which is fine, but to criticize the fact that two WWE workers will wrestle a WWE-style match is rather pointless.
  18. What is the point of having two completely separate ECW tribute shows? Why didn't the WWE have sense to hedge off Shane Douglas right when he started to plan his own show? They should have just paid him to work their own show, and had him help bring in other guys. Shane Douglas was such a big part of ECW that he should be part of any ECW tribute, even though he's never been really been thought of as a great worker or anything.
  19. I don't know...there's some sense to at least reducing the amount of debt for third world countries...I don't see how it benefits the US and other nations to keep them in debt that they cannot possibly pay. I'm not saying to just forgive all of it, but, um, yeah... Not one of those problems that has an easy solution.
  20. Cool, I will check that site out.
  21. Why is he their booker again? Dusty used to always do the cage match when he was NWA booker. Seriously...almost every show had at least one cage match.
  22. Sounds like he's more of a realist then most people in this country are comfortable with.
  23. At least Gorilla made the matches seem important, and would call them like legit athletic events. Can't say the same for JR all the time. As far as cliches go, all announcers have them...I don't think Gorilla used his quite as much as others, though my memory is hazy on that.
  24. The NWA World Title will probably always have some clout, just because of its history (as convoluted as that may be...hey, the WWE's World titles are both convoluted at this point...) and the fact that it is recognized by so many different promotions throughout the world. The same cannot be said for the ROH belt at this point.
  25. So is March 28 the official date now?
