Jay Lethal is getting a pretty solid push right now, so it would make no sense to place him in LAX, though Elix would make an interesting addition. Is it me, or is the Diamonds in the Rough going nowhere right now?

I think every platyer needs at least decent midrange game, and that was shown the other night. What they did during that run was reminiscent of at least the 96 Dream Team, if not the 92 squard at points. They played defense and played together. Every one of them can score the ball and that is not what is needed. Defense and teamwork will lead to blowouts a hell of a lot more often than sheer offensive firepower. I like this squad, because the three from the 2004 squad realized from experience that the international game is radically different from the NBA game. That, and not getting at least two shooters (btw, from what I heard, Michael Redd refused to play on the 2004 squad), the lack of true teamwork, Larry Brown's stubbornness and the lack of preparation time killed that team before it played one game. I was actually happy to see that beatdown. Sure its a prelim game and its Puerto Rico, but remember what happened two years ago.

I messed around with it on the X-Box at an EB Games at a mall, and it doesn;t play bad at all. I was playing Michigan vs. Tenessee State, and the first drive was all but perfect, then the next two were frustrating as just as Michigan recievers tend to do, they drop passes in the end zone. I'll wait until the price drop occurs. I can;t afford to drop fifty bucks on a game anymore.

Agreed. Basically the concept was designed around a computer game and because of that, IMO unfairly, it kind of gets short shrift. I would put those nine books up against any other books in the EU. -
I loved Collateral. If you don;t have the patience to wait for the payoff and notice the Jamie Foxx character growing through the movie as Vincent terrorizes him, you're going to dislike every Michael Mann movie made. He actually made me think that Tom Cruise had some depth as an actor. For about ten minutes. I'm going to go see MV, and see if its any good.

Don Muraco was an excellent heel back in the day.... He had some awesome fueds with Snuka, Ricky Steamboat, and Rocky Johnson.

ePSX? I tried using that thing and never could get it to work. You want to help me out with that? Its either that or an action replay cartridge for my PS1.

This only reinforces that Magnum was the fucking MAN back then, and how tragic that his career was cut short. He could have gone down as one of the best if his career had gone to its natural conclusion. I liked how the announcers kept quiet for large portions of the match and let the action speak for itself. No reason for "a punch by Tully, a punch by Magnum, there's a kick, there's a punch" like it would be nowadays, plus talking about other matches and angles during it too. Exactly. Less is more. Both Magnum and Tully sold it that night.

Another reason why there is too much "E" in ESPN. Fox's new show Final Score is infinitely better than SC now, even if there is a little too much going on on the screen.

Go, buy and read the Rogue Squadron series RIGHT NOW. Both Stackpole and Allston did a fantastic job with it. -
Heh, the major advantage that Skinemax *had* over HBO was the softcore stuff. Way way back in the day they used to show hardcore movies made softcore but slashing out the hardcore camera shots. There used to be a bunch of porn flicks that had hardcore and softcore versions. I must be jaded as all hell. because softcore does absolutely nothing for me anymore. I do like to see the actresses naked (speaking of that, who was the tall redhead? I thought it was Kira Reed, but it isn't), but thats about it. My problem with softcore is that its so patently false that its a waste of time. It would be one thing if the actors were actually going at it, and it was shot a certain way, but its not even that, just them grinding on each other. Feh. HBO has the Max beat because of its original programming, and as previously mentioned, they show the softcore stuff too. I have HBO and Showtime and if I get a roommate, I am going to go all out and get Max and Starz. I have everything else. This thread made me go and find some Kira Reed porn, and damn is she good at what she does.

The Killer Bees finisher was a dropdown dropkick. Blair would whip the opponent into the ropes and drop down so that the opponent would jump over him coming back off the ropes, and Brunzell would nail him in the face with that dropkick of his.

I am definitely going to BFG in Detroit.

"Taking care of his family" can be interpreted as taking as much money as he can. The Bulls grossly overpaid for him, for sure.

It was a shame that Scott's knees went flooey, because I thought he was pretty damned good, either as a single or with his brother. Some of the footage from when they were IWGP tag team champions was awesome.

AI is not going to Minnesota, just like KG is not going to stay there one season longer that he has to, but the problem is that a lot of teams cannot or will not take on his salary.

Stuart Scott was all right when he first came out, but like Berman, his act got old and tired pretty fast, and now they are both parodies of themselves. Unlike Kenny Mayne, who was NEVER funny. Way too much E in ESPN, the height of which was that ridiculous prognostication about who is going to win the Super Bowl in 07. Utterly idiotic.

Supposedly the deal is set so that Lebron can option out the year the new CBA would kick in, where he would likely be eligible (don't know how they've figured this out already) for a 6 year, $150 million contract. Sounds like LBJ has some good people advising him afterall. Amen. That was the main concern of mine when he came out, aside from him living up to the massive hype machine and all that.

One of the times I actually agree withn Roy... Wallace, as an *unrestricted* free agent, is under no obligation to the Pistons to accept a sign-and-trade if he can get an equally good or better deal from a team on his own. This is slightly different from, say, Ron Artest, Vince Carter, or someone else under a valid contract refusing to play unless they're traded or a traded player refusing to report to their new team. I took a vacation from the NBA threads because I was sickened by what happened with the Pistons. But now I am back. Yay me. Being a Piston fan, Roy is right. He basically made a decision to take care of his family by going to Chicago. Don't buy into any other explanation either he or his agent give, because Joe Dumars wasn't going to compromise the future of the franchise for anyone. Not even Ben Wallace, who is an offensive liability, and has been throughout his career. He is too old to want to change, even though it would have been in his best interests to spend the majority of a summer or three developing a close- to mid-range game. Fuck, if I (who was the geeky, nerdy kid who was always picked last) could develop a decent mid-range game, Ben Wallace (who is 50x the athlete I could ever dream to be) could do so as well. But in the end, he chose to take the money and run, and the Bulls are going to have salary problems within the next three years by giving him the max deal. I wish him the best, but I can;t help but being a little sad and angry that he did so.

I saw it on Youtube, and aside from the fact that he repeated himself a bit too much, that promo was from the heart. The E may pay their talent a lot of money but when you;re on the road 300+ days a year, is it really worth it? You weigh financial security (if you're good/over enough) against quality of life and job satisfaction. Rhino thought that it wasn't enough for him, considering everything he had to go through.
