  1. They do many house shows at baseball stadiums during the summer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Boogeyman debuted at an outdoor house show. He made it to the ring, began to speak, and then it promptly began to rain like crazy and they had to call it all off. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's God's version of X-Pac heat.

  3. Based entirely on the reputation established by that throwaway line in "Manos", I must buy this set.
  4. I bet one of those girls grows up to marry a black man. And... "Lamb"? "Lynx"? "Dresden"? Were their parents just randomly picking words out of the encyclopedia?
  5. I don't think he's actualy been removed as head of FEMA. http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/09/09/kat...gton/index.html I'd rather be the guy who lost by 5 electoral votes than the guy who lost by 512.
  6. ^Quiet, you!^
  7. You know a DVD recorder has multiple speeds, right?
  8. Check out the Hilary Duff thread.
  9. Given this excellent backstory, I sure am glad DC decided to bring the Kryptonian Supergir back into regular continuity.
  10. There are Thor and Sub-Mariner projects already in the works. Has anyone else seen the Daredevil director's cut? MUCH better movie.
  11. Czech bringing the profound critical analysis of my revised list of points. Good job. Next do you want to discount Smith's "Wealth of Nations" because of a typo you found on page 344?
  12. Has Dusty Rhodes taken over as Smackdown head writer yet? I didn't really enjoy the cage match, but the bullrope had some good suspense to it.
  13. I like this shirt better:
  14. Education is not a simple economic equation that can be solved by privatization. There are public schools in Kansas that I'd put in head to head competition with almost any private school in the country. They are successful because of parental involvement and a belief by the administration that every child needs to feel like they are part of a community. The other problem with vouchers is that it will cause a across-the-board tuition hike because the demand for private education will outweigh the supply. Statistics that show that private schools provide better outcomes fail to take into consideration 4 factors: 1) they can deny service to any child that doesn't meet their academic criteria, and thus do not have as many unmotivated students pulling averages down 2) they do not have to provide special education services, and thus do not have special education students pulling averages down 3) they can kick out disruptive students at any time, without having to go through 5 layers of red tape 4) they often do not have to take the state assessments everyone else does, thus are not measured by the same criteria
  15. Fortunately, 1-20-2009 isn't "these days".

  17. What was the movie that took place on a space ship where all the exterior shots were stock "Battlestar Galatica" footage and they kept making "______y Mc_____" name jokes about all the characters?
  18. What the hell's he think the DVDs is going to do if you drop it? Shatter into a million pieces? Its not made out of glass, dude.
  19. http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/09/09/kat...e.ap/index.html I wish we'd known about this 5 years ago.
  20. Bitching about other religions getting equal treatment is a great way to start a thread! If your name is MrRant....
  21. I'm confused by the "not what he wanted out of the segment" comment, since the only reason Torrie's on TV is to grab the attention of channel surfers by wearing outifts that show off her body. Did the segment not do that?
  22. Wait a second... Um... ...What????
  23. Not always true, sometimes conservatism fucks over all but the very rich. But yeah, by and large, it looks out for the middle class. I don't know if I'd throw white or male in all the time, though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought I covered my ass by using the words "tends to".
  24. Well who the fuck doesn't like THAT?
  25. Interesting point, but I think the President probably believes that having two consecutive African-American Secretaries of State insulates him from any and all criticism on the issue of race. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bush isn't the only one who thinks that. Appointing an African-American to a prominent position is the political equivalent of saying "some of my best friends are black".
