  1. I really miss the days when Raw was good and these threads would go 20-30 pages.
  2. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the Austin/Benoit 10 Germans match was on SmackDown.
  3. Norman did tie the course record in 1996 with a 63 in the opening round. He and Price are the only two to have shot 63.
  4. Other suggestions: - Benoit/Angle (cage) - Great Sasuke/Taka Michinoku - RVD/Eddy (ladder) - Austin/Benoit - Hardy/Nitro (ladder) - RVD/Christian (ladder)
  5. I hope not. That would be the second mistake I made with the guy (the first being dropping him too soon last season).
  6. Eric Byrnes, OF, Diamondbacks
  7. Even better was Simmons roasting Billy Packer over his commentary on the Henderson elbow...
  8. That's exactly what happened. Steamboat's loss was part of his punishment for asking for time off right after WMIII.
  9. It's not the first time Forbes has used suspect methodology in analyzing sports. During the NHL lockout, they claimed the L.A. Kings were making money because the guy who owns the Kings also owns Staples Center, and the Lakers were selling out every night.
  10. If you're thinking of the one with Jake and Ricky Steamboat, I'm pretty sure it was just your standard no-DQ match.
  11. He probably has, but he's won his card a few times. He'd just never been able to keep it at the end of the year until now.
  12. Yeah, that was him. I actually enjoyed his recaps, though. Nitro was just SO BAD back then.
  13. I would love to see the CAA get three bids. Anything that causes Billy Packer to throw another hissyfit on national television is OK by me.
  14. This post made me go back and read CRZ's old Nitro recaps from 1999. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend doing this to anyone else. My head hurts, and I'm still a little dizzy.
  15. I really think Forbes should get out of analyzing sports altogether. They just named Kevin McHale the best GM in all of sports: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=2788149
  16. It was a funny twist on the usual Hogan finish -- Bad News had Hogan down and out, and cut a promo on him mid-match, closing with "It's ghetto blaster time, fool." Hogan ducked out of the way of the enzuigiri and yada yada yada. Funny stuff. I wish I didn't have to wait until next month to get 24/7. I'd like to see this one again. Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will YouTube it.
  17. Mark Wilson wins the tournament. Villegas and Weekley were eliminated on the second playoff hole; Wilson birdied the third to beat Coceres. For the record, Wilson is not a rookie -- this was his 111th PGA Tour start.
  18. No Goldberg...and probably no singles push for Booker T. And who knows what would have happened to the Vanilla Midgets. Actually, the most interesting thing would probably be the fate of ECW, which was the best promotion in North America creatively at this point.
  19. Where are they at now? I'm probably going to be getting 24/7 next month.
  20. I missed it. I only got home in time to see the shootout. Just read about it in the paper, though. The guy can't do ANYTHING right.
  21. I think pretty much every team would, considering they'll be a 15 seed at best and lost three starters from last year's team. Let's not get carried away.
  22. The CAA is facing their worst-case scenario, as none of the three teams pegged as at-large hopefuls (Drexel, Hofstra and Old Dominion) even made it to the tournament final. They might only get one bid now, when they were looking at two and possibly even three.
  23. Christ, this thing has really bogged down. I thought for sure I'd make a pick sometime this weekend.
  24. After the first offer, he said, "I've got two words for ya...no deal!" while making the DX crossed-arms sign. Yeah, he was a bit of a spaz. Walking out with $106K must be nice, though.
