I always leave it on. I don't see any point in turning it off just because it's a certain time of day. I do a reboot when the computer starts getting sluggish, usually after a week or two.

Wow, I thought Cal/USC was next week for some reason. This is going to be a big week. We should know a lot more about the BCS picture after Saturday.

The Doomsday Cage match at Uncensored 96. Hogan and Savage won the match, and the DoD started feuding with the Horsemen.

If this was before the BCS was changed, Rutgers would be in fine shape right now, and would certainly be in the Title game if they won out. But, the computers are only worth 1/3 of the BCS rankings now. The polls still mean a ton more, and the computer rankings alone almost certainly can't raise a team over more than 1 other. That's true...however, Rutgers will probably be at #5 or 6 if they beat West Virginia and Cincinnati. Either Ohio State or Michigan is guaranteed to lose, and either USC or Notre Dame is guaranteed to lose (plus USC could still lose to Cal and beat Notre Dame). Also, it looks like Arkansas and Florida are meeting in the SEC championship game, which will saddle one of them with a loss. I don't know if that would be enough to get them past Florida (assuming Florida runs the table), but I have to believe it would be pretty close.

Did anyone notice that Rutgers is second in the computer rankings? If they beat West Virginia, I think there's a very good chance of them going to Glendale.

You mean there's more than one D-I team with THAT nickname?
-
Yeah, I noticed that too. Miss Alli doesn't miss much.

How is that retarded? How else do you propose to break a three-way tie where each team has a win and a loss against the other two?

I really have no idea what's going on in the NFL anymore. If I was still sports betting, you couldn't get me anywhere near an NFL game.

Pfft. The Raiders offence will get closer to 17 yards than they will 17 points.

Wow, it's like deja vu all over again for me. Wasn't I a very close third at this point last year, too? And maybe even the year before that?

Finally, the Sens' losing streak is over with a convincing 6-3 win over Pittsburgh. The cynic in me is saying that doesn't prove anything about their toughness in close games late, but I'm not listening to him right now.

Worse than Michael Irvin?

You're assuming Rutgers loses to WVU. I think that's going to happen, too, but it's certainly not a lock.

Wells isn't going anywhere. Not this offseason, anyway. And definitely not to the Dodgers, who don't really have anyone the Jays would consider equal value for Wells in a trade that they would be willing to give up.

According to the Big East rules, if there's a three-way tie and each team went 1-1 against the other two, whichever team is ranked highest in the BCS at the end of the season is the champion.

When ChrisMWaters and/or Downhome stop watching WWE, it is over, it's all over. I used to watch WOW and started watching WWF in 1994, a week before Duke "The Dumpster" Droese was going to debut. This stuff now is nothing in badness to me. To me, it's not bad these days, it's just boring. '94-'95 may have been really bad for the most part ('95 much more so), but at least there was some interesting stuff thrown in there, something I wanted to watch. Not now.

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Duke Vitale is everywhere!! I don't watch college football to listen to Duke Vitale!!!

You don't usually see a blocked PAT run in by the offence for two. I don't think I've ever seen it myself.

According to Wikipedia, Erkka Westerlund has been the coach since '04.

Hm, interesting. Isn't it usually developing hockey nations that go outside the country to hire a head coach?

Rumsfeld leaving won't change anything that's going on in Iraq, will it?

Their biggest mistake was signing Martin Gerber. I said that for the entire offseason. He had one good regular season and got a big money deal, and now he's letting pucks in all over the place. The two goals the Thrashers scored in the third last night were both soft. And Muckler signed him on Murray's recommendation. The poor defense could be a factor in that. It happened last year, when Emery let in seven goals in the first game against Buffalo, and the D tightened up, perhaps because they lost confidence in Emery, and started making mental mistakes. It's not a coincidence that the Sens are last in the league in SH goals against. Maybe the team is just soft mentally. It's possible. You can talk about caring about winning all you want, but it doesn't matter if you're not mentally sharp and tough. This team has beaten itself so often that maybe they just don't have that mental toughness that great teams need. I think Muckler and Murray are both gone after this year, barring a big turnaround. Even if they make the playoffs, Ottawa's looking like a first-round exit waiting to happen.
