  1. Boxscore on Retrosheet 11-7 Braves. Neither starter made it to the seventh. Braves won with 5 runs late off Grimsley and Stanton. EDIT: Have I mentioned how amazingly cool Retrosheet is?
  2. Atlanta vs. New York interleague series in 2000.
  3. I'll never see the second half of RAW again. I probably won't see any of it now...no point watching just the first hour. Oh well...I've been looking for an excuse to stop watching the E, and it looks like I just got it.
  4. And then make him their head coach. BRILLIANT!!
  5. Fixed. Wouldn't want to be killing those carrots by pulling them out of the ground, now.
  6. Why? None of those players are better then anyone we already have, including the rookies that haven't been given a chance to shine... Recchi, and Klee will serve the whole NHL better if they just retire. Martin Rucinsky sucked for us 5 years and has only gotten worse. Brad Isbister is a very poor man's Mike Ryder, and everyone brings nothing to the table. In all, I'd be dissappointed if we got any of those players, with possibly Scott Young being the exception. I'm 99.88% sure he was being sarcastic.
  7. That's depressing. Ten years ago, the Orange were a regular top 25 team; now they can't even beat out teams that weren't in I-A ten years ago.
  8. Sorry, I should have specified "competent GM." The Islanders would pass on both and grab Patrick Lalime.
  9. Ditto, but it works on mine. I think it depends whether or not your administrator has enabled the ability to do so on your machine. A few of the people here can't do it, but I can since I have "power user" rights. o.O That's probably it. The admins have disabled just about everything; we can't do shit without a call to the helpdesk.
  10. Who would you sign if you were a GM, Hasek or Belfour?
  11. I have Win2K at work, and my screen doesn't do that.
  12. I think I'd be less inclined to watch RAW in HD. I certainly don't need sharper, more detailed shots of male ass, thank you very much.
  13. I voted for Ty. He was solid. I went in expecting to vote for Chris, but I didn't like his set all that much. Josh had some good material, but he took way too long between jokes. Michelle was OK, but nothing spectacular. And if I never see Roz on my TV screen again, it'll be too soon.
  14. The pessimistic prognosis is that he'll be back next week.
  15. Apparently, yes. Vince has never given the fans what they wanted, except for a brief period when he was in danger of going bankrupt (the Attitude era). He has always been about telling the fans what they should like and not like -- always. It goes with being such a complete control freak. This shouldn't be surprising at all.
  16. Was it Moppy or Pepe that was thrown into the wood chipper? Or both?
  17. The Islanders are making a hard run at Worst Franchise in Sports.
  18. Not with John Ferguson, Jr. as GM. He's in the last year of his contract. I'm sure he thinks nothing of stunting their development for a run to the second round of the playoffs next season.
  19. Area 51 isnt any more or less gaurded than any military high security unit, it's just it's so high profile because of TV & movies. Area 51 contains two things (yes it does have "top secret" projects, but nothing to do with aliens & whatnot) firstly Area 51 is the command centre of the western US defence unit, they have extremely powerful weapons able to halt long range missiles from attacking the west coast of the US (california etc) Secondly it houses the national DNA (soon to be global) database, which is relitivly new (began in 1970) & the national security base of operations, which is where very high profile people would go in a full scale attack on the US. Area 51 contains NO materials from extraterristrials, these elements are elsewhere. This is true. Why do people insist on replying seriously in a wildpegasus thread?
  20. Or Tim Raines. Or Andre Dawson. Or Tim Wallach. Or...
  21. How John Laurinitis still has a job is one of the true great mysteries of the world today. He gets the type of guys Vince loves. He's got a job for life. Now, if there was a sane person running the business, I'd agree with you.
  22. This is last week's thread.
  23. Holy run support...Jays rang up NINE in the fourth. A Vernon Wells grand slam was the highlight, and Overbay went 2/2 with a single and a 2-run homer.
  24. Yes, there are supposed to be five for each team. Bizarre typo. As it is, I'd pick Alomar for the Jays. Treble's right, Delgado should be on there, and should really replace Hentgen (Cy Young notwithstanding).
  25. In what universe is Crasnick living in where Bobby Abreu isn't a good player? He gets on base more than any NLer not named Albert Pujols.
