  1. Americans would never - NEVER - want anything of theirs to be seen as something inferior. Especially if it's Europe they're being inferior to.
  2. I can't believe McEachern's still in the league. Oh, happy birthday.
  3. The Ed Belfour era in Toronto is officially over. The Leafs passed on his option today.
  4. I wouldn't want the JR from last year on the Sens, but I want the guy who wrote that letter.
  5. The second question is impossible, because no wrestler has wrestled enough people that would be at the top of the list to give an accurate judgment. The first question would depend entirely on who you asked. Go to Japan and you get a completely different answer from what you'd get in the US, which would be completely different than in Mexico, etc. Retired wrestlers would have a completely different answer from WWE veterans, who would have a completely different answer from some rising star in ROH. Guys who spent most of their time in WCW would have a different answer than guys who came up in WWE. And so on.
  6. Is Isiah Thomas suddenly running the Lightning? That's about the only way I could see a St. Louis-for-Aebischer move happening.
  7. Good, more journeyman goalies. That'll really help the Bolts out.
  8. I'm not surprised the Sens didn't make Chara the big offer. Someone's going to pay $8 million for him, and it's just too much money for Chara in today's NHL. Chara had a really hard time adapting to the new NHL last season. His biggest attribute -- his size -- was a hindrance to him, as the refs would regularly send him to the box for roughing-type penalties that he just couldn't help. When you're 6'9", you're going to knock players around a lot more than an average-sized defenceman would. He had a career-high in scoring, but who didn't last year? Do I think he's a top-tier defenceman? Of course. Do I think he's worth as much as Redden got? Absolutely. Do I think he's worth the maximum? No.
  9. It's a marathon, not a sprint. If you're losing weight "fast enough," you're doing something wrong. Like not eating.
  10. I heard them a couple of times on internet broadcasts. I would agree with this.
  11. Man, that's terrible. Every parent's worst nightmare.
  12. Is that why the likes of Bronko Nagurski, and Don Hutson are the best players to wear their respected numbers? Well of course they're putting old ones on there. But the recents ones are still laughable especially the #5 because the honorable mention list listed players that are waaaaaaaaaaaay better than him. Like who? I didn't see anyone on that list who was better than Bush. I like that Ron Simmons got honourable mention for #50.
  13. Announcer I want to stab multiple times. Really? I despise Tirico, actually......Can we agree on neutralism for NBC golf guy Dan Hicks? He's OK. I don't want to stab him, so I guess so. As long as we're talking about golf guys, I'll throw in David Feherty, Verne Lundquist, Ian Baker-Finch and Nick Faldo. Fuck the PGA for dropping ABC from their TV deal. You'll throw those guys in as your stabees? Good Lord. Well, Finch is fair game, (but im not sure if I'd stab him quite yet). But, you think Feherty < McCord? See my signature for more on Lunqvist, by the way, who now has a call from the 21st century that will be remember for quite a while with Tiger's chip-in on 16 last April. Uh, no, I actually like those guys. Funny you should mention the chip-in on 16...I actually just finished watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-60BgDPHpw0 One of the greatest calls I've ever heard.

  15. And the Red Sox go out in front of the Mets. Again. If you'd told me last Saturday that the Jays would lose 4 games in the AL East standings, I sure wouldn't have predicted it would be by going 7-4.
  16. I have a co-worker who just came back from South Africa. Her tour bus driver was stabbed on their trip, and about half the people had stuff stolen. She herself lost her camera, her passport and her plane tickets. Apparently, the cops didn't really give a shit when the thefts were reported.
  17. Announcer I want to stab multiple times.
  18. Oh, and Sterling Sharpe. He and Tirico worked really well together on SNF last year in their two appearances. Too bad they didn't keep him for MNF next season.
  19. That's beautiful. I would love to see an 8-74 season. It could happen. Isiah's our man.
  20. Dan Shulman Jim Hughson Vin Scully Mike Tirico Marv Albert Dave Henderson Dean Brown Gord Wilson Peter Alliss
  21. I'm lobbying for another series each against Washington and Atlanta.
  22. You forgot the Reds. 16 years ago.
  23. The steroid trials were the last time he had any time away from WWE. I don't think he ever takes vacations. So, who's taking Vince in their 2007 dead pool?
  24. People say this all the time. It almost never works that way. Al's right. The argument that a division is tough has, at its core, the notion that multiple teams are good. And if two or three teams are good, they should all be able to win games outside their little group at a higher rate than the average team. If this is the case, even if the teams involved play .500 ball against each other, they should all still be able to win 95 games by beating up on the rest of the league. The reason it appears to not be true for the AL East this year is there's another group of teams in another division that appears to have an even larger talent disparity between themselves and the rest of the league, a lot like the AL West when both Seattle and Oakland won over 100 games.
  25. I would imagine Chara is on the way out now. That's more than people were figuring they'd sign Redden for. Is that the penalty for going over the cap, having your cap reduced for the following year? Sounds like the Devils got some bad cap advice. They're going to be really hurting without Elias next year.
