  1. Guiel could get a chance to play right away, with Damon now potentially out with a strained oblique. He left tonight's game in the 3rd.
  2. Figures they'd have the worst match from Canadian Stampede on there. Although, to be fair, it was still a good match. Bret/Kid and Luger/Steamboat stand out as the best offerings this month. I remember Hardy/Mysterio as being good too, although it was pretty recent. In fact, what's all the stuff from 2004 doing here?
  3. That still counts against the cap, as the Devils found out with Mogilny. I did some looking, and the relevant clause in the CBA states that any player over the age of 35 that signs a multi-year deal will have their average yearly salary count against the cap, whether they play for the club holding their contract or not (i.e. if they retire or get demoted).
  4. If they're fired with cause, they can't go anywhere until their contracts are up. This probably isn't a problem for Sabu...RVD is another story. How much time is left on his current deal, anyway?
  5. Say what? That's the dumbest rule ever. You shouldn't have to take a cap hit just because some player decides he doesn't want to play anymore. Ridiculous.
  6. Hm, that's probably the best place for JR to go. If he can't play well for Gretzky, he definitely needs to retire.
  7. Yes, nothing says "athlete" like sliding whole wieners and water-soaked buns down your throat.
  8. Lance has inspired millions of cancer patients to keep living. He transcends sports now.
  9. Yeah, but they'd have to change it every couple of months to accommodate the latest "next big thing" that ESPN is pimping at the moment. Lance undoubtedly belongs on a Mt. Sportsmore. Most people would say we should wait and see if it's proven that he doped, though, which is utter bullshit. I'd put Lance up there before Michael Jordan. Lance, Ali, Owens and Ruth.
  10. Yeah, wearing that shirt in public wouldn't embarrass me in the least.
  11. TRISH RUNNING~!~!
  12. He's usually in the second half of the show. DX brought the crickets back...oh wait, that's the actual crowd.
  13. That's a car wreck waiting to happen.
  14. *crickets* Sounds like a regular Raw to me.
  15. I'm guessing he still needs to support his 36 kids or however many he has. No one should give him a license. He's clearly a danger to himself.
  16. I like Al's Mt. Sportsmore best.
  17. I'm amazed that many made it. I didn't think Glaus would be there, either. That's more than either the Red Sox or Yankees.
  18. Elias' contract with the Devils apparently includes a "no-move" clause. The Devils can't trade him or send him to the minors, so they're stuck with him for six years, for better or worse.
  19. The Rangers resigned Martin Straka, terms not disclosed. I love this time of year.
  20. They weren't bad. Of course, if the Jays keep winning, they can go out there in ballet costumes for all I care.
  21. I am uneasy about this coming season. Honestly, I think we would have been better off signing Hasek. They paid #1 money to a guy who's only been a starter for one season, despite the fact that he's 31. Emery's as good as this guy...how's he going to feel being the backup for the next three seasons? I don't know anything about Joe Corvo. I'll wait and see with him. I've seen some people say he's underrated, so we'll see. An offensive defenceman might be a good fit for this team.
  22. Damn, no more Highlanders vignettes.
  23. It must be fun being David Hasselhoff's publicist.
  24. Odd stat: With their win over the Phillies, the Blue Jays extended a streak (winning or losing) to four games for the first time this year. Previous to tonight, they'd won three straight four times and lost three straight three times.
  25. Welcome back to the majors, Adam Bernero. Sorry you won't be staying long. 8-0 Jays after 2. Lyle Overbay already has 2 home runs.
