I find him quite amusing, actually. Why is everyone so worked up about it? He's just being a dickhead, it's quite entertaining really.

Everyone's got their knickers in a twist over Redbaron saying Dio, yet are missing the main point. He said Elton John, one of the greatest singer/songwriters ever, sucks. That alone should be punishable by death. Yeah, I like a couple of John Denver songs.

5 moves of doom, the reason I don't like Clapton (and the same reason usually applies for other people I know who don't like him) is I find him far too self-indulgent. There is an arrogance to his music I really don't like. That's really the best explanation I can give. I liked him much more in Cream though, where I feel he was controlled a bit more. But his solo stuff just irks me.

I like Robbie Williams loads. While yes, he's not Elvis in terms of voice or Lennon in terms of songwriting, I think compared to the rest of the current artists around he would be in my top dozen. At least what he's doing is different. And yes, he is a prick, but I still think he's musically good.

At least Hendrix is at #1. I can't think of any other redeeming features of this list though. If Cobain deserves to be in it so does George Harrison, who was better and more influential. Slash and Prince have both been pointed out.

I love Cher, though I still love Madonna far more than her. Her music to me is still pretty good, and I think she has had areas of making worse music than she currently is now. For example, I don't really like the music from True Blue to Causing A Commotion, but then she went and did Like A Prayer and was better than she had been beforehand. I don't think her music currently is as bad as it was then, and I do hope she can lift herself again, just for at least one more great album. But I like her being around as only she, U2, George Michael, Bon Jovi and Kylie Minogue have been charting consistently since the 80s off the top of my head and I hope they can all last as long as possible because I still enjoy their stuff (except Michael and Bon Jovi are starting to drag). So, in closing, praise Madonna. She is the biggest selling star internationally of the 80s, and it's not like the music scene is that great right now.

Go chill and listen to Roxy Music's masterpiece, Jealous Guy. Bryan Ferry was such a great songwriter.

I'm suprised at the absence of a single vote for The Green Mile. I voted Road To Perdition, because although yes it was obvious who would die from about three seconds in, it was still told so exceptionally well and made me cry at the end despite me knowing it would happen from fairly early in.

I know in the UK Carole King only charted with "It Might As Well Rain Until September" and "It's Too Late", though I doubt this will be the same anywhere else in the world. Jennifer Rush had "The Power Of Love" and "Ring Of Ice". Anything else? And same thing for similar 80s singer Laura Branigan. "Gloria" and "Self Control". I don't think she did anything else.

Michael Jackson - History was mentioned, but I have to disagree. This was the biggest artist of the 80s. As a collection of his best songs it is incredibly disappointing. It should have been great, but for every moment of brilliance in there (eg. "The Way You Make Me Feel"), we get a "Bad" or a "Black Or White". Madonna's Immaculate Collection is a much more essential best of. She was the second biggest artist of the 80s. And unlike Michael Jackson the songs she had on the album were much more representative of her talent.
