  1. Yea, that was great. Really gave the match a big match feel, which is what Cena brings to the table.
  2. That's not a spoiler.
  3. The Rumble is pretty lame, because it's Austin and 29 midcarders who have no chance in winning. And the Rumble is filled with too many guys through much of the match and it just drags.
  4. No, not at all. When Cena's in the ring, you're almost always guaranteed a good show I disagree with that. Cena and Umaga had an awesome brawl at the Royal Rumble, and I enjoyed the Cena-Khali series. Did you see Summerslam? Cena v. Big Dave was just awesome, I wish it had more time. Right, but working a match is all about getting the crowd involved and drawing heat, and Cena does that in spades, whether the crowd wants his head or the kids are pulling him to win. But that doesn't seem to effect his drawing or ratings power, and it makes his matches that much more fun to watch. Watching the PPVs again on 24-7, the matches still work I feel. I wasn't too high on the Cena-JBL series, but they just don't seem to gel well together, except for that I Quit match.
  5. You may not like him, but the guy's great in the ring and totally deserving of the push WWE gives him. The guy comes back, and RAW ratings go back up again. He's the face of the company and deservedly so. His matches always seem to have tremendous heat, and he rarely has an off night. That's completely different from Triple H- I'd say the peak of HHHate was 2002-2003 and that was when Triple H was just all over RAW (Cena isn't) as ratings and profits plummeted, all while having heatless main events.
  6. That's not true in the slightest. People hate Triple H because of family connections and the fact that the guy had to be force fed everyone's throats for years before they finally accepted him as a main event player, mainly because you had no choice. That and Triple H had that run where he was just burying guys. Cena's a guy who established him with the rapper gimmick and got himself over, to the point that the company had no choice but to push him. He doesn't bury guys and has proven to be a success on top, selling untold amounts of merchandise and helping to push the company to new profits.
  7. It's more the WWE schedule.
  8. Okay, what I said wasn't 100% correct. This is what wiki said- New Line was kept as its own entity until February 28, 2008 when Time Warner CEO Jeffrey Bewkes announced that New Line would become a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Robert Shaye and Michael Lynne said that they would step down with a letter to their employees. They promised, however, along with Time Warner and Jeffery Bewkes that the company would continue to operate its financing, producing, marketing and distributing operations of its own films with the New Line logo, but would do so now as a part of Warner Bros. and be a smaller studio, releasing a smaller number of films than in past years.[2] As to the company's future, according to Warner Bros. president Alan Horn, "There's no budget number required. They'll be doing about six per year, though the number may go from four to seven; it's not going to be 10." As to content, "New Line will not just be doing genre [...] There's no mandate to make a particular kind of movie."[3]
  9. I get the feeling Vingeault never liked him. As I said before, I've been impressed with Labarbera since he came to the Nucks.
  10. I'm speechless. Are you trolling? Or did you really mean that? No, Scroby's not too far off. The few times I'm able to watch ECW, it's a solid show. And regarding what dubq said- it really isn't it's own brand anymore, it's just an hour to get over talent on Sci-Fi. They don't do their own house shows, and they're always on RAW and Smackdown.
  11. I like how Edge always beats Matt whenever they wrestle.
  12. Strange Wilderness was 08. Yea, that one was bad. I can't stop listening to The Wrestler. It's such a haunting song. I'm going to download Gran Torino though.
  13. You know what's weird about Memphis now? The refs actually give them calls. I'll freely admit that they got a few gifts from the refs, and I've never seen that happen
  14. I'm glad you didn't outright hate it. I was a bit taken aback by worst movie of the year, since well I saw 88 Minutes, Proud American, The Happening and The Hottie and the Nottie. Deafness would be legit awesome. And Julianne Moore has to be in it too. The thought of waking up or suddenly going blind is one of my fears, so the movie really touched on that. The reviews were so terrible, that I went in with very low expectations which helped.
  15. I'm trying to remember the gotcha, but I just can't. To me Blindness was just Children of Men, only with blindness. I think the producers should make a Saw-like series where each year, everyone goes [something]. I also loved how Maury Chaykin became king of the blind jail, because he had been blind since birth. Thought that was really clever.
  16. I sent my editor, who is a Devils fan, what was essentially a drunk email about the loss and the final minute, only I'm not even drunk. I hate hockey.
  17. The Canucks can't even do a cocktease comeback correctly. They get within one goal, and unlike the Leafs who at least spend the last minutes jamming at the puck making you think they have a chance and deserved to win when they really didn't, they yank the goalie and then watch as the Devils just deny them anything, having shooting practise at the empty net, only for it go in- OFF A CANUCKS DEFLECTION WHAT THE FUCK. Can't even lose properly. I wish I drank.
  18. I watched every game since he came to the Canucks, and I was impressed. The whole team played like dogshit in the St. Louis game, a game that I like to say never happened. That game against Dallas, he was fantastic. But man, the Canucks are giving me an ulcer at this point. When the Devils scored goal #4, rage built inside of me.
  19. Damn. There was one time where Coach said he'd fight the next person who came through the door, and it turned out to be Ron Simmons. They just stared at each other, Simmons shot him a funny look and.... DAMN. Killed me
  20. You know, I thought about it when making my own list, but I don't remember anything from the movie. I might have ranked Rachel Getting Married too low in my list, that movie really stayed with me- broke my heart. But Bill Irwin as the father, was just great. I just thought them was a lame way to end the movie. But awesome. I was also impressed with how they were able to make the movie, it had to be a challenge.
  21. He's not a terrible goalie. The St. Louis game wasn't totally his fault, and I'm not going to completely blame him when the team makes turnovers in their own zone, and can't clear the puck
  22. The ending was a cop-out, totally agree.
  23. I think I'm the only person who liked Blindness. The movie scared the shit out of me, and I thought it was a really well made thriller. I didn't like the ending, and it was a bit of a stretch to see Julianne Moore be like: What I'm totally blind you guys for that long.
