My comment actually worked two ways. It could be interpreted as either: 1. Padres sucked badly thus far, I would know, I watch them more than I watch my favorite team. So if you can't beat them, then you really shouldn't hope for anything this year. OR 2. It's still very very early. So you go on a hot start, and lose 4 games straight, it's all over for you? Please. Besides, about the TE question: The first ten teams to pick are- Houston, New Orleans, Tennessee, New York, Green Bay, San Francisco, Oakland, Buffalo, Detroit and Arizona. How many of those teams have a SEVERE need for a TE that outweighs all their other needs? The only teams I see that really needs a TE is San Francisco and Arizona. And both of those teams have huge holes elsewhere that needs to be addressed. Let me put it this way, would you rather see your team take a TE in the first round, when you have holes all over the offense and defense, or would you want a different position filled first?

How do you know his "freakish" ability translates well on the pro level? Antonio Gates wasn't even drafted, he walked onto the San Diego squad basically, and broke out from there. And yes, I'm not high on VERNON DAVIS himself. I'm not saying he won't break out and join Gates, Gonzalez, Shockey, etc in the elite, but right now, I don't buy him yet.
