I think the real question here is if Lita, when she feels the child about to be born, will make a run for the nearest vat of molten metal and throw herself in to make sure its evil never troubles the world. If he does get born, I'd like to start a fund to buy the kid a tricycle for his sixth birthday.
-
But soon, Lita will become the Good Witch of the North and Kane's victims will be able to escape back to the locker room by tapping their heels together three times and saying 'There's no place like home'. ...OK, I don't know WHERE that one came from.

Johnny, you have hit the glass ceiling. *hastily doubleglazes the ceiling* Hey, I only just got into the main event. Can't have you bitches looking like you belong here too.

I'd like to apologise before we go to air for the sheer volume of time I'm going to be spending in front of the camera tonight. At last count I was in two promos and two matches. Sheesh.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZED. YOU RULE. NOW DO THAT THING WITH THE LAMPSHADE AND THE TWO BALLOONS.

With regards to Edwin's comments about IL's addiction - I work with a 17 year-old heroin addict who started using when she was THIRTEEN. OK, it's a different substance, but you can get hooked young. This is not to mention dual diagnosis (using drugs or alcohol to self-medicate a mental helath problem, which in turn worsens the problem) which can be an absolute BITCH to kick. Working day-in day-out with drug users of all denominations I can actually agree with Kibs' statement about drugs as 'things'. My bias would be towards the experiences they cause being bad, not only due to my personal choices, but also the people I see. However, I don't see the people who can use drugs and maintain themselves, as I only work with homeless people; on the other hand, there are ALWAYS more people ready to come in with drug problems. basically - I hope you find what's right for you, IL. Given the other things you've talked about I'd be inclined to think that working towards abstinence would be the best thing for you, but I've seen the bas side effects of cold turkey as well. I hope you get things sorted to your satisfaction.

Dupree CAN get a reaction. It's a face reaction, admittedly, and it only takes place when he does the French Dance... but did you see Toronto during the Heat match? I swear he got the biggest pop of the night! In-ring, Dupree and Kenzo both suck. But Dupree is simply limited, whereas Kenzo's appalling timing on his 'martial arts' style drags him down lower than 2003 Jeff Hardy.

A few hours before Lockdown The mood in the Revolution Zero dressing room is sombre. Spike Jenkins plays FireProWrestling on his Gameboy Advance, but his heart clearly isn’t in it. Sean Davis sighs and tries to read the same page in his book for the fourth time before losing the thread again, giving up and hurling the offending novel at the wall in disgust. Even Marcus Washington looks slightly uneasy, and the reason for their mood is conspicuous by his absence. Toxxic. The Straight-Edge Sensation, the leader of Revolution Zero, the fastest-rising rookie in recent memory... and now the former World Heavyweight Champion, courtesy of a Shooting Johnny Press that saw the Barracuda win the match and the World Title find a new home around the well-tailored waist of Johnny Dangerous. They haven’t seen or heard from Toxxic since Storm, when his title reign went belly-up after a mere 20 days. And now tonight, the team of Hardcore Gamer’s Champion Sean Davis and ‘Hollywood’ Spike Jenkins faces Hollywood Boulevard for the Tag Team Championship. Spike pauses his game and looks up at Sean., who stares blankly back. They know they’re a good team and they know that they can take it to Van Siclen and Cortez tonight, but they’d feel a hell of a lot easier in themselves if they knew where he was... *click* Abruptly the doorhandle turns, and all three men whip around. Jet steps through, looking slightly surprised at being the centre of attention... and then Toxxic walks through the door after her. “Dude!” Spike says, jumping up. “We weren’t sure if you were coming...” “Why not?” Toxxic asks, apparently surprised. Spike suddenly looks uneasy. “Well... we hadn’t heard from you man, and you know it’s been kinda usual that World Champions take off once they’ve lost their title,” Spike explains, “-I mean Danny kept disappearing, Va’aiga got himself fired, and Grappler left, and Duran sort of faded out for a bit, and Janus left and thank fucking God man, y’know?” The Secondary Straight-Edger grins suddenly. “But it’s great to see you again dude! So, what’s the plan for tonight?” “Forget tonight,” Davis rumbles, stepping forward. “I want to know what happened on Storm.” The big man stares down at the Straight-Edge Sensation - not in a confrontational way... not yet, anyway. “I got it wrong,” Toxxic says, staring levelly back at the Perfect Storm. “You underestimated him?” Davis asks. “No,” Toxxic replied, “I misjudged him. I planned for a different match and a different style. I don’t know how the bloody hell I kicked out of the MI Slam,” Toxxic continues, “but I thought that would throw him more than it did, so I didn’t react quick enough afterwards.” “Ok then,” Davis replies. “You think you can take him?” “Oh, I know I can take him,” Toxxic asserts, “...on the right day. The question is; will I get a rematch, and that’s something we’re going to have to wait to find out. But for now we’ve got other things to think about,” he continues, shutting the door behind him and resting his black holdall on the bench, “namely, getting you two the Tag Titles. Your plan of attacking Cortez and Van Siclen was fair enough, but it seems to have got the Mask back on their side.” The Straight-Edge Sensation strips off his jacket and hangs it on a peg, then starts rummaging in his bag. “So what’s the plan?” Spike asks his leader’s back. Toxxic locates his eyeliner and pulls it out before turning around. “Simple. I’m going to let off a bit of steam against Justin Bowers, and you two are going to win the tag belts. We’re not going to make any more mistakes - not me, not you, not any of us. And just in case Masky decides to stick his concealed nose into our business and be at ringside...” the right side of Toxxic’s mouth creases up in his trademark lopsided grin “...I’ll be there to get ‘hands-on’ myself, if needed.”

I can't work out if it's a good sign or not. I mean, a lot of people go out friday night, don't they? So moving it away from there might be better? I dunno, I never go out on fridays cos it's about the only night there's nothing decent on in Nottingham. I agree it breaks it up a bit though. But come on, LIVE Raw? That'd be ludicrous. I'd prefer to have it at a more normal time, and if I really didn't want to know what had gone on I wouldn't read the spoilers.

I'm sure Graps' Clusterfuck gave Anthony Michael Hall as the SWF's Head Official.

Landon: your storyline is very good - and not just because I came up with the basic plan, but because of the way you've told it. It had the right amount of 'wait-and-see' about it and developed very well. Of course, with me no longer world champion i await with baited breath your resuming your feud with Johnny, this time over the world title...

It's the best way.

I was ICTV and Hardcore Gamer's champion at the same time for about a month, after I cashed in my free title shot directly after winning the HGC. Apart from janus (briefly) co-holding ICTV and World, that's the only recent example i can think of someone holding two singles titles at the same time (plenty of people have co-held a single and the tag titles)

Not when the reigning champion is me, and not when it explicitly states in the reigning champion's stats that he CANNOT kick out of a finisher. No-selling is fine and dandy for those as want it, but Toxxic is a 218lb wrestler with Vitality 4. He's not going to kick out of the MI Slam, let alone kip up straight after it. i don't care about adrenaline or anything else - HE IS NOT THAT TOUGH. Rant over.

That is a real shame - I thoroughly enjoyed our little war early on in our career and the promos we did were among my favourites - hope the job goes well mate, and see you around!

Any feedback is appreciated. Thoth's in particular would be nice, so I know how to improve for next time. “Welcome back to SWF STOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMMM!” Cyclone Comet booms, his heroic voice being beamed into millions of households around the world. “It’s time for the main event, and what a main event we have! Citizen Dangerous finally gets his chance at the World Title after he accepted the Toxxic Open Challenge on Smarkdown before pulling off what must be considered something of an upset against Dace Night, and this retired superhero for one would very much like to see the belt change hands!” “Well dream on, Spandex boy, because that title is staying right where it is,” Riley snorts in response. “We finally have a chance for a World Champion who can actually keep the belt, and believe me, the last person Toxxic will be dropping the title to is Johnny Dangerous!” As Riley finishes speaking the cameras cut to Funyon who stands in the middle of the ring, perspiring slightly underneath the bright lights. The ring announcer raises his microphone, and the buzz of anticipation inside the San Antonio increases. “Ladies and gentlemen,” Funyon booms, “the following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the SWF World Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first...” ’JOHNNY DANGEROUS!’ The lights dim as the sultry female voice breathes the name of the SWF’s resident superspy, and ‘After The Flesh’ by My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult pumps out over the Alamo Dome speakers while the fans go wild. Smoke starts to billow up on the entrance stage, and after a few seconds the trenchcoated figure of Johnny Dangerous walks out, backlit by the strobes. “...the challenger, from Las Vegas, Nevada;” Funyon continues, “weighing in at 217lbs... he is ‘The Barracuda’... ‘JOOOHHHHHNNNNNN-EEEEEEEE... DAAAAAAAAAAAAANNN-GERRR-RRRRROUSSSSSSSSS!!” “JOHN-EE!” “JOHN-EE!” “JOHN-EE!” Johnny walks down the entrance ramp, slapping hands with fans and smiling at the women as he goes, but the Barracuda’s mind appears to be elsewhere - specifically, the ring in front of him. Although he takes off his expensive shades, gives them to a lucky kid at ringside and acknowledges all the fans, Johnny is focused tonight like never before. This is his first time challenging for the World Title, and he is determined not to let it slip from his grasp. “Citizen Dangerous has the chance to rise to the top of the mountain here,” Comet states as Johnny climbs into the ring, strips off his coat and mounts the turnbuckle before spreading his arms out to the fans as the flashbulbs go off. “Few in the SWF embody hard work like this man does, and now that work has finally paid off. Tonight, he gets the chance to proclaim himself the best in the world and rid the SWF of an evil-doer in the same match!” “Oh, please,” Riley laughs. “Even supposing the James Bond-wannabe manages to fluke his way out of here with the title, do you really think Toxxic’s gonna just give up and go home? You can’t stop the Revolution, Comet!” Johnny has just dismounted from the turnbuckle when the Smarktron abruptly whites out and the opening chord of ‘Rookie’ by Boy Sets Fire rings out. The screen darkens to black, and as it does so jagged white letters flash up a familiar slogan... ‘PREPARE TO BE PROVED WRONG’ “BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” The Smarktron changes slightly as the guitar riff kicks in and the black becomes the top of a spiky-haired head which raises to stare out with two piercing grey eyes before the right side of Toxxic’s face creases up into his trademark lopsided grin. The screen changes and clips of the World Champion’s most notable matches flash up as the bass drum starts, alternating with the words ‘STRAIGHT-EDGE SENSATION’ and ‘REVOLUTION ZERO’ before footage of Toxxic taking Mike Van Siclen off a balcony and through a table, the devastating landing timed to coincide with the four blasts of red pyro that climb the sides of the entrance ramp and the final, stage-wide eruption- *BAM-BAM-BAM-bap-BOOOM!!* -that signifies the arrival of the SWF’s premier straight-edger as the main riff kicks in! The smoke from the pyro drifts away to one side, and the World Champion strides through with the title belt around his waist and Jet at his side. “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “And his opponent,” Funyon bellows, trying to make himself heard as San Antonio shits all over the straight-edger, “accompanied to the ring by Jet; from Nottingham, England, weighing in at 218lbs; he is the leader of Revolution Zero and the reigning and defending SWF World Heavyweight Champion... the ‘Straight-Edge Sensation’... TOXXXXXX-IIIIIIIIIC!!” Toxxic stares at Johnny Dangerous as he walks down the ramp, rubbing his jaw to let the Barracuda know he remembers the Johnny Kick from Smarkdown. He stops at the bottom and pauses to crack his neck from side-to-side, then rolls under the ropes and comes up to his feet in one smooth motion, unbuckling the World Title and handing it to Anthony Michael Hall before throwing his arms wide as the verse comes in to trigger more explosions of red pyro from the top of each turnbuckle. *bap-bap* *BOOOM!!* ’I never thought this could be me I guess you never do until it’s happening to you Like all the fun turns into shame And all the could-have-beens rearrange...’ ‘Rookie’ fades out as the two men in the ring stare at each other with undisguised enmity. Toxxic strips off his shirt and throws it over the ropes to Jet while Hall shows the title to all four corners of the Alamo Dome and calls for the bell. *DING-DING-DING!* Johnny immediately drops into a martial arts stance, ready to counter any offensive move the Straight-Edge Sensation makes... but Toxxic’s attitude has suddenly changed; instead of attacking he simply backs off slightly before leaning casually against the top rope. Seeing Dangerous’ eyes narrow the Brit simply shrugs, and a close-up shot clearly catches him saying ‘what?’. Johnny’s face grows angrier, and the straight-edger rolls his eyes before pushing himself off the ropes... but just stands loosely before raising a black-nailed hand and casually beckoning the Barracuda inwards. “I love it!” Riley laughs in delight. “It’s Johnny’s first time in a World Title match, he doesn’t know what to do and Toxxic’s making a fool of him!” “I know better than to think Toxxic is really this relaxed,” Comet notes, “but I feel that trying to infuriate Citizen Dangerous may backfire on him - as a former secret agent the Barracuda is well-trained in controlling his anger, and the World Champion’s antics will only increase his fervour to see JUSTICE~ served.” “Or he could just flip and start crying,” Riley says hopefully. Riley’s wish is not going to be granted however, as Johnny raises his arms and calls for a lock-up. Still wearing his bored expression, Toxxic comes forward and complies - but the moment the two wrestlers make contact the straight-edger drops and rolls, taking Dangerous off his feet and over with an arm drag! “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” Johnny rolls back to his feet and rounds on his opponent, but Toxxic simply grins and even offers an apparent apology, then motions for another tie-up. Johnny comes in cautiously and the two wrestlers close again, but this time when Toxxic goes for an arm drag Johnny is prepared and as Toxxic turns away from him he wraps his arm around the straight-edger’s throat instead! However, Toxxic reaches up and grabs Johnny’s head before dropping down and taking the Barracuda over with a snap mare, then dropkicks the seated secret agent in the back of the head. “BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” “Toxxic’s found someone he can outwrestle!” Riley exclaims. “This is fantastic!” Dangerous does not appreciate Toxxic’s exclamation point on that move, and he scrambles back to his feet holding his neck. Toxxic holds out his arms for another lock-up, but this time Johnny refuses to play - instead he simply lashes out with his right leg and slams a kick into the Straight-Edge Sensation’s ribs! *CRACK!* Toxxic staggers sideways from the unexpected blow and Johnny strikes again- *CRACK!* -then one with the left leg- *CRACK!* -and finishes off with a stunning Shotei to the face! *SMACK!* “YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!” “JOHN-EE!” “JOHN-EE!” “JOHN-EE!” Toxxic has been knocked back onto the ropes and Johnny follows him in before grabbing the straight-edger’s wrist and whipping him towards the far cables. However Toxxic reverses the momentum halfway across the ring and sends Johnny in instead, then leaves his feet to fire off a standing dropkick at the onrushing Barracuda - but Johnny has held onto the ropes, and Toxxic crashes down onto the mat without making impact! Seeing his opportunity the challenger darts forwards and leaps into the air before coming down with an elbow drop, but this time Toxxic evades the move by rolling aside and coming smoothly to his feet. Johnny quickly starts to rise as well, but not quickly enough to avoid the basement dropkick that slams into the side of his head and knocks him sprawling on the canvas! On the basis that you never know your luck, Toxxic drops down and hooks the leg... ONE! TW- -but Johnny kicks out before Michael Hall finds two, and the crowd start stamping and chanting to get behind the Barracuda. Undeterred, Toxxic grabs Johnny and hoists him to his feet, then sends a European uppercut thundering into the challenger’s jaw. *WHAM!* Johnny staggers backwards, but Toxxic grabs him and begins to whip him towards the far turnbuckles. This time it’s Johnny’s turn to reverse the momentum, but as Toxxic approaches the ringpost the Straight-Edge Sensation vaults up to the top rope, then twists and comes flying back through the air to take Dangerous down with the Role Reversal! “BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” Both men lie on their backs on the canvas for a second... then Toxxic’s legs coil up underneath his chin, and he kips up explosively as the Texas crowd chant their disapproval! “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” Toxxic grins as he looks around at the fans in the Dome, seeming to delight in their attention whether it be positive or negative. Regardless, the World Champion quickly returns his attention to Johnny Dangerous and grabs the rising Barracuda’s right arm before twisting it over his head. Johnny grimaces in pain and rolls forward through the move, then comes up to his feet and reverses the armwringer to trap Toxxic in it instead. The Straight-Edge Sensation looks to roll through it as well, but as his shoulders touch the mat Johnny drops to kill Toxxic’s momentum and holds him down for the pin! ONE! TWO! Toxxic kicks out once the surprise has worn off, but Johnny quickly fires off another kick to the ribs before hooking the straight-edger for a suplex. The San Antonio fans rise in anticipation of the triple verticals, but as Johnny gets Toxxic up the Brit twists around in mid-air and drops behind the Barracuda to trap him in a reverse headlock. Johnny struggles, but his weight is totally off-centre and there is nothing to prevent Toxxic from dropping to one knee and driving the other into the back of Dangerous’ neck, then popping up and twisting round to drive Johnny down with a Diamond Cutter! “Johnny Dangerous just Detoxxed!” Riley shouts in glee. “Take that, you junkie freak!” “Robert, simply because the move is called the ‘Detoxx’ does not mean that everyone who receives it is on drugs,” Comet sighs. “However, I am concerned about Citizen Dangerous’ health as although both wrestlers have been reversing the other’s moves it is Toxxic who has been making the bigger impact between-times.” Toxxic doesn’t follow up the stunning blow to Johnny’s head however, as he immediately goes back to work on the Barracuda’s right arm by grabbing it when Johnny is still on the mat, then dropping and spinning through the air to wrench it in its socket and slamming Dangerous’ face back into the canvas once more. Johnny rolls away from the impact with a couple of spots of blood starting to appear on his lip but Toxxic doesn’t let up - instead he grabs the arm again and hauls Johnny back to his feet before twisting another armwringer in and firing off a couple of clubbing blows to the trapped limb. Johnny grunts in pain and tries to pull away from his attacker, but Toxxic simply runs past him and straight up the turnbuckle before leaping off and crushing Johnny’s arm underneath a top-rope legdrop! “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “Toxxic appears to have found his target in Citizen Dangerous’ right arm,” Comet notes, “but he’s still finding time to deliver some blows to the Barracuda’s head. I fear the dastardly World Champion is looking to lock the Repeat To Fade in on our heroic challenger!” “Not at all!” Riley argues. “He’s merely making sure that Johnny has a limited, ahh... ‘choice of activities’ when he’s alone in his hotel room tonight.” “Robert, please!” the shocked superhero responds. “It sends you blind,” Riley says loftily. “The match is behind you, Hawkeye.” Toxxic still has a hold of Johnny’s right arm despite all the acrobatics, and the Barracuda is evidently in quite severe pain now. He is unable to resist Toxxic when the straight-edger exerts pressure on the injured limb, and the World Champion takes advantage of that by making for the turnbuckles again and pulling the secret agent behind him. Once more the Brit runs up them... but this time he simply drops straight down to the outside of the ring, guillotining Johnny’s arm over the top rope and whiplashing it back! “BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” Johnny falls backwards, clutching his arm and gritting his teeth against the pain. However, his fighting mentality forces him to rise to his feet again as he cradles his arm and looks around for his opponent... ...who is already back on the apron, and vaults to the top rope before springboarding across the ring towards the Barracuda. *WHAM!!* “RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!” “And Johnny Dangerous dropkicks Toxxic out of midair!” Comet yells in delight as the secret agent pulls out a lightning-quick counter! “Now can Johnny make the most of this opportunity?” That seems to be in doubt, as Johnny seems to have jarred his right arm on landing. However, the dropkick caught the airborne Toxxic flush on the jaw and has temporarily stunned the Straight-Edge Sensation. After a few seconds of pain Johnny sees his chance and rolls into a cover on the recumbent Toxxic... ONE! TWO! ...but the Brit kicks out without much difficulty as Johnny’s hurt arm meant he neglected to hook the leg. The Barracuda rolls away and comes up to his feet, waiting for Toxxic to do likewise. It takes a few more seconds for the straight-edger to rise, but when he does Johnny is waiting for him. *CRACK!* The kick fires into Toxxic’s ribs and causes the Straight-Edge Sensation to double over in pain, but Johnny has plenty more where that came from: *CRACK!* “JOHN-EE!” *CRACK!* “JOHN-EE!” *CRACK!* “JOHN-EE!” Toxxic tries to cover up against the kicks, but Johnny Dangerous’ martial arts background stand him in good stead and he lands the blows with expert precision. Then he pauses for a second and waits for Toxxic’s protective stance to unravel slightly, before stepping in and- *BANG!!* “Left-arm Urinage!” Comet yells as Johnny Dangerous hoists Toxxic up before dumping him down to the mat - a little sloppily admittedly, but still effectively enough. “Citizen Dangerous appears to be targeting the World Champion’s ribs and back, perhaps to set up the Barracuda Crab or the Death From Above - the only question is how well can he do that with his right arm considerably weakened?” “I can’t see it slowing him much if he’s going to be allowed to just kick!” Riley states in disgust. “Hall should do his goddamn job!” Johnny doesn’t wait for Toxxic to get back up under his own power this time - instead the Barracuda hauls his opponent up before bending to take the straight-edger onto his back in a fireman’s carry. Johnny steps back, measuring the distance... then takes a quick three-step run-up and rolls forward, slamming Toxxic’s back into the mat with the Spinal Explosion and popping up to his feet off the momentum of the move! “Is this more you your liking, Citizen Riley?” “Drop dead, Lycraman.” “LET’S GO JOHNNY!” *clap clap clap-clap-clap* “LET’S GO JOHNNY!” *clap clap clap-clap-clap* The Texas fans are really getting behind Johnny Dangerous now, and the Barracuda allows a small smile to penetrate his match face as he measures his opponent. Toxxic starts to get unsteadily to his feet, breathing heavily... and Johnny darts in before lashing his boot out straight at Toxxic’s head! *SMACK!* “Johnny Kick!” Comet laughs in delight as Toxxic falls back to the canvas. “The World Champion tasted it at the start of Smarkdown, and he’s tasted it again now!” Johnny Dangerous looks down at the stunned straight-edger on the canvas, and comes to a decision. He runs for the ropes, rebounds off and flips into the air, seeking to bring his left fist crashing down on Toxxic’s chest... ...but Toxxic rolls to one side, and Johnny merely drives his knuckles into a suddenly unforgiving canvas! “The Armed and Dangerous misses!” Riley exults. “That’ll teach you to try and show off, you overconfident prick!” Johnny massages his left hand with his right one, but Toxxic doesn’t plan on giving the Barracuda any time to recuperate. Johnny feels a hand take hold of his hair and pull him upright, then- *WHAM!* -Toxxic fires a European uppercut into the secret agent’s jaw, staggering him backwards. The Straight-Edge Sensation steps in after him, seeking to regain the advantage and make Dangerous pay for his burst of offence... *WHAM!* *WHAM!* *WHAM!* Johnny is driven back to the corner under the onslaught of blows, and Toxxic grabs the Barracuda’s wrist before whiplashing his body backwards to send Dangerous careering across the ring into the far turnbuckles. Johnny hasn’t been hit quite hard enough to lose track of what’s going on though, and he reverses the momentum to send the Brit slamming into them instead. This time Toxxic’s body hasn’t got the reflexes to vault to the top and he impacts backfirst, driving the breath from his body and further hurting his back while Johnny shakes his head, trying to clear it. The sight the wheezing Straight-Edger in the far corner brings him out of it however, and Johnny charges across the ring before leaping into the air... ...twisting 360 degrees... ...and slamming chestfirst into his opponent with a Stinger Splash! “RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!” “DUB-CEE!” “DUB-CEE!” “DUB-CEE!” “Johnny Dangerous takes a page from his old pal Wildchild’s playbook and nails the Blue Crush on Toxxic!” Comet calls gleefully. “Now can he keep up the momentum?” Toxxic is gasping for air, and Johnny’s aching head knows that a few more good shots could win him the World Title. What he really needs is to get Toxxic down on the mat for the Death From Above... and he knows just how to do that. Quickly, the Barracuda snares his opponent in a rear headlock and climbs to the second buckle, then as the San Antonio crowd start to rise in their seats he somersaults forwards... *BANG!* ...and lands backfirst on the canvas as Toxxic holds onto the top rope to prevent himself being pulled down in a Diamond Dust! “Hah!” Riley gloats. “Dangerous went for the Cover-Up, but he can’t hide the fact that Toxxic is the superior wrestler!” However, Toxxic makes no immediate attempt to follow up his timely reversal as he is more concerned with getting oxygen into his lungs and easing the pain in his back. Johnny is already starting to push himself up but the straight-edger can’t seem to force himself into action in time to cut his opponent off. Johnny reaches a vertical base again, turns to find Toxxic where he left him and reaches out to grab the Straight-Edge Sensation... “Arggh!” “BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” ...but Toxxic makes a rare departure from the rules by raking black-nailed fingers over the secret agent’s face! Johnny holds his face in agony, only to have the straight-edger place his chin underneath the Barracuda’s jaw and drop to his knees in a jawbreaker! “Citizen Dangerous must be pushing Toxxic hard tonight,” Comet notes, “because we’ve only seen the World Champion use tactics like that when he’s been in real trouble!” “It’s a truly great champion who knows exactly when and how to bend the rules, Comet,” Riley explains, “but now he’s regained the advantage this upstanding pillar of the community will gladly beat Johnny Dangerous cleanly.” “I’ve warned you before about using the words ‘upstanding pillar’ when there are semi-naked men on TV, Robert.” Johnny has turned away from Toxxic, clutching at his eyes and jaw, but Toxxic isn’t going to wait around anymore. Instead the man from Nottingham steps out to the ring apron, takes a moment to judge the distance and then launches himself back into the ring straight over Johnny’s hunched back, hooking him on the way over and bringing him down with a slingshot Oklahoma Roll! ONE! TWO! TH- -but Johnny kicks out of the Radford Roll before Anthony Michael Hall can find three and the fans inside the Alamo Dome breathe again. Angrily, Toxxic brings Johnny up to his feet and clamps on a front facelock... then mimes taking a swig from an imaginary can. “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” The Texas crowd erupts at the signal for the Caffeine Bomb and the volume in the building starts to rise to an uncomfortable degree as San Antonio expresses their feelings towards the Straight-Edge Sensation, but the moment Toxxic takes to bask in the hatred is a moment too long as Johnny comes to his senses and fires a shot into the straight-edger’s ribs. The blow causes Toxxic to wince in pain as it sinks into his already-damaged sternum, and Johnny takes the opportunity to charge forward and slam the World Champion back-first into the turnbuckles again! “JOHN-EE!” “JOHN-EE!” “JOHN-EE!” Johnny Dangerous steps backwards and massages his right arm briefly - the impact jarred it - then snaps off a left-handed jab at Toxxic’s temple. The blow snaps the head of the wheezing World Champion to one side, but Johnny decides he need a slightly bigger impact and lashes out with his right leg to bury that into the Straight-Edge Sensation’s gut instead. Toxxic staggers forwards, and now it is Johnny’s turn to put his opponent into a headlock as he looks for a DDT to drop the Brit on his head - but Toxxic lets his knees buckle and throws all his bodyweight backwards, causing Johnny to fall forwards and hit his head on the turnbuckle! The Barracuda’s skull doesn’t like this renewed attack and the dazed sensation it engenders is not helped by Toxxic, who grits his teeth and forces himself to stand straight before firing off a- RIGHT! LEFT! RIGHT! LEFT! All of San Antonio waits for the windup and Discus Clothesline finish, but the straight-edger doesn’t seem interested in completing the routine and instead boosts himself up to the second buckle - wincing as he does so - before reaching forward and grabbing the dazed Barracuda’s arms, pulling Johnny forwards into a double underhook for what looks like a Tornado Toxxic Shock Syndrome out of the corner! The Alamo Dome start to stand in their seats, aware that this could be the end... ...but Johnny tries to arch backwards and backdrop Toxxic off the turnbuckles! The Straight-Edge Sensation desperately releases his grip and grabs the top rope in a bid to avoid taking a plunge to the canvas, and Johnny backs away before charging in again- *SMACK!* -but runs straight into a boot! The Barracuda rotates slightly on the spot, his momentum killed by the impact, and this time Toxxic succeeds in snaring him in a rear headlock and swings out of the corner to drive the back of the challenger’s head into the mat with the Tornado Reverse DDT! *WHAM!!* “Final Shine!” Riley yells. “Stick a fork in the Barracuda; that fish has got to be done now!” Toxxic needs no encouragement and reaches forwards to hook Johnny Dangerous’ leg before leaning back to put the maximum possible pressure on his opponent’s shoulders... ONE! TWO!! THR- -but Johnny kicks out again, and Toxxic thumps the canvas in frustration! He angrily queries why Hall didn’t count the three, but the referee informs the British punk in no uncertain terms that his count was at the correct speed. Meanwhile, an all-too-familiar chant starts to rise inside the Alamo Dome... “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” The Straight-Edge Sensation is clearly unhappy with the state of affairs, but he deigns to continue with the match nonetheless and reaches down to pull Johnny Dangerous off the canvas. The Barracuda is seemingly out on his feet now and offers little resistance as Toxxic hooks him in a 3/4 facelock and points to the turnbuckle. “And now Toxxic’s going for the Intoxxication!” Comet says in alarm. “Agent Dangerous needs to snap out of whatever daze he’s in, and quickly!” “Too late,” Riley gloats. “You may as well abandon all hope of Johnny becoming champion Comet, because it’s not happening tonight!” Toxxic pulls Johnny towards the turnbuckles, urged on by Jet’s shouts from ringside, and runs straight up them before backflipping over the Barracuda... *BANG!* ...and landing facefirst on the canvas as Johnny holds onto the top rope in his turn to prevent his skull being driven into the mat again! Toxxic writhes on the mat - his ribs just took the full impact of the landing, and he doesn’t have the prospect of a match-winning cover to encourage him to move. Johnny isn’t in a much better condition though, as the secret agent is still on dream street and slumps down in the corner to try and recover. With neither man on their feet, Referee Hall is forced to resort to the time-honoured ten-count... ‘ONE!’ “JOHN-EE!” ‘TWO!’ “JOHN-EE!” ‘THREE!’ “JOHN-EE!” “Agent Dangerous needs to make sure he rises before the ten-count is completed,” Comet explains anxiously. “A draw would not avail him in this situation where the World Heavyweight Championship is on the line!” ‘FOUR!’ “JOHN-EE!” “You’d better believe that Toxxic won’t be staying down either,” Riley replies to his commentary partner. “This man got up from a Fall From Grace before ten at 13th Hour!” ‘FIVE!’ “JOHN-EE!” Slowly, Toxxic starts to push himself up onto all fours. His back is burning, his ribs feel like someone’s replaced them with molten metal bars and he knows that a double count-out will allow him to retain the title... but for all his faults (or possibly because of them) he can never seek the easy way out. Instead, he forces himself upwards and back into the match. ‘SIX!’ “JOHN-EE!” Slowly, the count starts to filter into Johnny Dangerous’ head. That moment where he grabbed the top rope was to prevent injury to himself rather than being linked to any conscious desire to win the match. Now, however, reality is starting to return, and when it comes down to it Johnny cannot allow himself to fail at this final hurdle. Not for his absent partner Wildchild, not for the fans who are counting on him to dethrone the despised Toxxic... and not for himself. ‘SEVEN!’ “JOHN-EE!” Both men rise unsteadily to one knee... start to rise to a vertical base... ‘EIIIGGGH...’ ...and Anthony Michael Hall stops his count as Toxxic and Johnny Dangerous stagger fully upright, staring daggers at each other! “YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” “JOHN-EE!” “JOHN-EE!” San Antonio roars fully into life once more, seeking to urge their chosen hero on through the power of their voices alone. For his part Johnny moves towards his opponent whilst Toxxic simply beckons him inwards with a snarl on his face. Dangerous lashes out with his right leg... but this time Toxxic catches the blow, then throws the limb away from him and fires a punch towards Johnny’s face! Johnny blocks the blow with his left arm and instinctively fires back with his right, but Toxxic not only catches the punch with his left arm but twists and locks Dangerous’ arm with his own. The renewed attack on his injured arm causes Johnny to cry out in pain, and with no desire to stretch this affair out any longer than he has to Toxxic simply steps into his opponent and smashes a headbutt square into Johnny’s face! *CRUNCH!!* Johnny staggers back from the impact, knees almost buckling as his head takes another damaging shot. The force of the blow stuns Toxxic for a second as well, but the World Champion hasn’t been taking shots to the head all match and follows up by releasing Johnny’s arm, flipping the classic British v-sign at the Barracuda and then flattening him with a Discus Clothesline! As Johnny lies on the mat the Straight-Edge Sensation pushes himself back to his feet and lets out a roar at the San Antonio crowd! “Uh-oh,” Comet mutters. “I don’t like the looks of this.” “Lesson one,” Riley informs his partner, “don’t make Toxxic look weak. He hates that.” Toxxic grabs the top rope and takes a couple of deep breaths to calm himself, then turns to inspect the situation. Johnny Dangerous is already starting to push himself up, whatever motivation or driving force he possesses forcing him to keep getting up and keep fighting. Sighing at the necessity, Toxxic steps up behind Johnny and wraps his left arm around the Barracuda’s throat to lock in a Dragon Sleeper... ...but Johnny surprises the World Champion by twisting around in his grip and charging forwards once more to drive Toxxic across the ring and slam him against the turnbuckles! The SWF’s secret agent retracts his head from the suddenly-loosened front facelock, backs off, and waits for the World Champion to stagger forwards from the impact before leaping into the air and slamming a sloppy but effective enzuigiri into the back of Toxxic’s head! “JOHN-EE!” “JOHN-EE!” “JOHN-EE!” “Johnny Dangerous has really used the ring to his advantage in this match,” Cyclone Comet states as the World Champion drops bonelessly forward onto his face, “and his focus on Toxxic’s ribs and back has enabled him to get out of more than one situation by ramming his opponent against the turnbuckles!” “He should have been disqualified!” Johnny pushes himself up to his hands and knees following the enzuigiri, but stops there. For a moment the Alamo Dome wonders whether the last of the Barracuda’s energy is gone... but no, as Dangerous grabs Toxxic’s shoulder and rolls the straight-edger over onto his back before scooting around to make sure he can hook the far leg with his healthy left arm and leaning into a cover! San Antonio rises to its feet and counts along as Anthony Michael Hall drops down to do the honours... ONE! TWO!! THRRREEE- -but Toxxic kicks out just before Hall’s hand hits the mat for the third and final time! He only manages to roll one shoulder off the canvas, but the effort is enough to dislodge Johnny from his position atop the straight-edger’s chest. For a moment the Barracuda looks out at the crowd in the Alamo Dome, wondering what else he needs to do to win the greatest prize in the business today... but deep inside him, he knows exactly what he needs to do. Get up. “Citizens, Johnny Dangerous is an example to us all tonight,” Cyclone Comet proclaims as Johnny uses the ring ropes to pull himself up. “After a gruelling match against Dace Night on Smarkdown Citizen Dangerous has come to Texas ready and willing to give our World Champion the fight of his life for the ultimate prize - the SWF World Heavyweight Title. No matter the outcome tonight, Johnny can hold his head up high and say that he gave it his all, but I truly believe that this pioneer of JUSTICE~ can still walk out of here with the gold around his waist!” “He’s overmatched, he’s outclassed and he’s going to lose,” Riley asserts... but there isn’t quite the conviction in his voice that there once was. Johnny’s head swims as he bends down to pick Toxxic up, but he grits his teeth and continues. Slowly, he hauls the World Champion’s 218lbs up to a more or less vertical position, then tucks his head under the straight-edger’s left arm and takes a firm grip on Toxxic’s legs with his right hand. The Alamo Dome knows what comes next, and as Johnny starts to lift Toxxic up for the MI Slam the flashbulbs start to go off... ...and perfectly capture the moment when Johnny’s grip on Toxxic’s legs fails, and the Straight-Edge Sensation slips out of the move to land nimbly behind his opponent. “BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” Johnny turns to face Toxxic... and to the observers, it is not quite clear whether Johnny Dangerous, dizzy from all the blows to the head, meant to do what occurs next. It would make good tactical sense for him to surge - or possibly stagger - forwards and bury his shoulder into Toxxic’s gut, but the expression on his face doesn’t make it clear whether it was an intentional act or not. Regardless, the effect is the same - Toxxic’s face creases up in pain, the World Champion relaxes his grip and doubles over. And there can be no doubt that Johnny means to take the Straight-Edge Sensation in a front facelock and fall backwards to spike him with a DDT. “JOHN-EE!” Johnny looks sideways at his fallen opponent. He could go for another pin, but deep inside him he knows that Toxxic will kick out. He needs to do something else and finish this match now. As the chants start to rise inside the Alamo Dome again Johnny reviews his options; the Barracuda would work, but only if he had two working arms to trap Toxxic’s leg. He’s already borrowed one move from Wildchild tonight, but the Wild Ride suffers from a similar arm-centred problem. That only really leaves the one move that relies solely on his legs to execute - the move that defeated Dace Night. So with a final burst of energy Johnny Dangerous rolls Toxxic over onto his back... and starts to climb the turnbuckles. “Citizens, we may be about the see the Death From Above!” Comet says with rising excitement. “Hold onto your hats, because the end of this match is just around the corner and it’s going to be a cracker!” Johnny forces himself to keep climbing, despite the dizziness that sweeps over him. He reaches the second buckle and has to hold onto the top rope to steady himself, but raises his foot to the top buckle. And it is at that moment that a clubbing forearm shot crashes into his kidneys. “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” Johnny manages to keep himself from being knocked off the turnbuckles, but only just. He tries to reach backwards and dislodge his attacker, but to no avail as another blow slams into his back and knocks the wind from his body. Dimly, he is aware of the spiky-haired form of his opponent step through the ropes and start climbing up the outside of the turnbuckles. Toxxic’s back and ribs are killing him and the Straight-Edge Sensation is not his usual sprightly self, but a quick punch to Johnny’s aching head stops any thoughts of a fightback. “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” “TOXX-IC SUCKS!” The chants are increasing in their volume, but they could be gentle music for all the effect they have on the World Champion. His head is still ringing from that DDT, but he wasn’t as hurt by it as he made out. However, playing possum is the last Toxxic wants to do, even to win a match, and now he needs to make amends. So he stands on the top buckle, grabs Johnny’s arm and holds it across his chest. Then the World Champion jumps forward and drags the challenger with him in a downward spiral to the mat. *BANG!!* “Single-Arm DDT from the top rope!” Comet exclaims in a mix of awe and horror. “That’s got to be it!” Sure enough, Johnny Dangerous’ arm feels like it’s jumped out of its socket, and the impact of his head on the canvas has busted his mouth open. The Barracuda yells out in pain, and beside him on the mat Toxxic winces at the impact on his ribs and chest. But he still has a job to do, and he is going to do it if it kills him. Or someone else, for that matter. So he grabs Johnny’s right arm and forces it up behind the Barracuda’s back in a hammerlock, then clamps on a Dragon sleeper with his left arm and grabs Dangerous’ trapped wrist to lock in the Repeat To Fade. Johnny tries to reach for the ropes, but Toxxic wraps his legs around the challenger in a bodyscissors... and after that, the end comes quickly. *TAP-TAP-TAP* “BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” *DING-DING-DING!* “Ladies and gentlemen, here is your winner and STILL SWF World Heavyweight Champion,” Funyon booms over the guitars of ‘Rookie’, “...TOOOOOXXXXXXXXXX-IIIIIIIIIC!!” The Straight-Edge Sensation rolls out of the ring where Jet meets him with the championship belt. The Alamo Dome is rising in a standing ovation... for Johnny Dangerous, as he lies sore and defeated on the mat. Toxxic turns his back, and heads up the ramp. Copyright SWF 2004

Congratulations to Johnny. I would however like to point out a couple of things for the sake of future reference (not meant as a shot at Johnny so much as to make sure other people know this): -The Toxxic Shock Syndrome is a swinging sitout Pedigree, not a Tornado DDT. It used to be my finisher, so trust me on this. It can be done out of the corner LIKE a Tornado DDT, but it is not one. -I CANNOT KICK OUT OF A FINISHER. It says it plain in my stats. Toxxic does NOT have the vitality to kick out of ANY finisher unless there is a MAJOR delay between move and pin. The MI Slam would have made me into toast. -having impossibly kicked out of the MI Slam, me kipping up is ludicrous. Pretty much the only time Toxxic does that is just after a Role Reversal when he's in control of the match - not to mention the fact that at that point he's in fucking AGONY. Again, it's in the stats. Nevertheless - if it wasn't for those three things I would have had NO problems with your match beating me, it was a truly excellent effort. As it is, I'm a little unhappy that things that are clearly noted in my profile were ignored, plus that bizarre bit of no-selling at the end... but ultimately, Johnny can write whatever he wants and it was not him who decided which match won. Congratulations again for finally winning the big one.

PROMO: 'What have I gotten myself into?'

Lovin' it Lovin' it Lovin' it. -
This is possibly true. But my argument would be that it's either me defending on what will probably work as a show-on, show-off basis (as in, every other show -roughly - I'll do something more storyline orientated or something) against anyone who wants a shot, or the world gets endless rematches of me vs one of probably about two 'main event' talents after Genesis until someone else is viewed as ready to move up. My aim is not only to keep myself busy, but also to motivate the fed (which is partially why I tweaked the rules slightly). If people know that they have a good chance of being picked for a shot if they keep an eye on the boards and the card, PM me promptly and are showing and promoing then the level of participation in the fed is likely to pick up, and that can only be a good thing.
