  1. This just proved once and for all what many thought all along: This promotion exists for Jeff Jarrett. It exists only to put him over, and to be built around him. How anyone could be so delusional to think he is a draw even though the fans HATE him, as a babyface, is amazing to me. He has never drawn, ever...ever. In wrestling, if you want to keep a loyal fanbase, you have to give them what they want. When they are dying for the babyface win, you need to give it to them, or eventually they're going to throw up their arms and say "Fuck this". That's what happened in the WWE, and when HHH lost the title, nobody cared, because they knew he'd be back to regain it, which seems to be happening right now. There are no fresh matches left for Jeff Jarrett, unless you count washed up "stars" as fresh matches. Welcome back to hell, AJ, hope you enjoy your feud with Michael Shane.
  2. Or a fuck you to the booking committee, at least for the Michael Shane thing.
  3. THEMONSTERMENG. CRZ better recap the show, incase it's him.
  4. A nice, big "fuck you" to the loyal fans. How do you make money? I guess by pissing off your fanbase!
  5. How crazy (stupid) would it be if they were just working the smarks with this so they could get more buys out of curiosity?
  6. Works better as a face? Woah, I guess we have a huge difference of opinion there, as to me the vast majority of his best Indy matches have been with him as the heel. He's not exactly the greatest seller (Save the Incredible match with London), and thus makes a much better heel in long matches. His flashy offense does get pops, but it really disrupts the flow of matches and he has been moving away from it recently. The best way to make money is to have a heel with the belt and a babyface chasing it, so maybe Jarrett will win this Wednesday, if they want Styles as a face. However, it seems to me like they want to build Abyss as a super face.
  7. TNA could also try dumping a lot of their dead weight wrestlers that just offer nothing to the promotion. That's how you really cut costs. Bring in some of the more talented Indy guys, you could probably get 2 or 3 for whatever they're paying Vampiro.
  8. They need to keep Styles heel, and build around him as the cocky, arrogant little guy that's actually really good and wins matches. If they build the character well, a blow off down the line with a babyface the fans like (NOT JARRETT) will draw well. They should give the injury angle to Styles, not Jarrett.
  9. Rationalizing people that forget to sell in wrestling is absurd. He worked on the arm the entire match, and HHH sold it very well until the end when he just totally ignored it after hitting the pedigree. "One time, my leg was broken, but i could still walk around, so I guess if someone was a really good athelete they could run easily with a broken leg."
  10. The wrestling one-shot doesn't work! It doesn't fucking work! You can't just have one supershow and expect a base of fans for life, Russo tried it multiple times in WCW. They should use the next couple months to let Mantell build some unique feuds and try to gain momentum on their own, and if they don't, then try Hogan. If it gains momentum on its own, they won't need to spend an assload of money on him.
  11. That would be sweet. However, I think it's going to lead to a big Survivor Series tag on the Smackdown side with Angle and Benoit being unwilling partners. We'll see.

    Fire Austin!

He's staying around as long as he is drawing better ratings than anyone else on the show.
  13. I know everyone, including myself is kinda feeling a letdown with the bad news with Hogan, but I think it will be for the best. When Dutch Mantell turned IWA into the success that it is today, he did it from the ground, without worldwide press. If last week was any idea of what we will be getting, it means that TNA's product will be much, much better within two months. If they become succesful with their own talent, without a big name like Hulk Hogan, then they will have a solid base and not have to worry about one guy drawing all of the people. If Hogan had come in and got them one buyrate, but then people didn't think much of a Hogan-centered show, it would have been a *huge* waste of money. This way, they are still on weekly PPV, and if the show gets real good, there is enough exposure so that they will pick up steam on its own merits. If there's one thing I've learned as a fan, it's that the big "single shot" show that's supposed to instantaneously earn you boatloads of viewers never works. How many times did WCW and Russo try a big "restart", only to have it stall out and fail a month later. TNA's success, Hogan or not, is going to be based on coherent storylines, good payoffs, and characters fans can get into. Hogan's presence would have most likely just made them focus less on character development of others. This way, TNA will have to build stars, and everyone knows building stars is the key to long-term success. It's gonna be harder now without an artificial boost, but it's not impossible.
  14. I think they're real, read the whole spoilers and it will make sense that that is the preview. If they're real, Paul London didn't make the show, again.
  15. Well, it's Meltzer, and I don't remember the last time he was wrong on something like this.
  16. Two upsides: 1) AJ might keep the belt. 2) ROH will have all their talent for the double shot weekend.
  17. It would flop if they went ahead with it, I mean, if they can't get people to buy Wednesday PPVs for 10 bucks, how will they get people to spend 30? Especially in a month with Survivor Series. They could use this as a good opportunity to run an injury angle with Hogan, putting over someone (young?) by taking Hogan out.
  18. "The NWA TNA PPV show scheduled for 11/30 was canceled this afternoon when officials found out Hulk Hogan would be undergoing surgery on his right knee. Hogan's surgery is scheduled for 10/31, after aggravated the knee in his match on 10/13 against Masahiro Chono. The deal itself hasn't fallen through but a big show would not be taking place this year." Credit: Wrestlingobserver God damn, there just seems to be no luck for up and coming promotions.
  19. The arm had nothing to do with the counters at the end, it was just Benoit and HHH repeatedly countering the moves the same way. When HHH eventually hit the pedigree, he didn't even sell the arm.
  20. Samoa Joe vs. Homicide: Homicide and Joe lit it up at Do Or Die, and with no holds barred, the brutality is going to be off the charts. This is a non-title match, and I think they're doing that because they don't expect attendance in Rochester to be very good. If the crowd is good, they may reward them by making it a title match. This has **** written all over it. Joe wins it with some sort of insane killer move. Daniels vs. Walters: This could be really great, Walters is the best new guy they've brought in, and Daniels rocks of course. This could be the match that make John Walters. If this gets more than 20 minutes, and I think it will, it may be match of the night. I predict Walters gets the major upset victory, just because he's not in TNA and they need more stars without that schedule conflict. Corino vs. CM Punk: The battle of the 2 most hated heels in Ring Of Honor. Could be good, Punk is great and Corino is good sometimes. Punk is going to win this, he's been on a losing streak as of late. Someday down the line, these two would make a sweet tag team. Credible vs. Cabana vs. Hart vs. Rave: 4 good workers will make this yet another good match on the show. Hart won't win his first match, I pick Jimmy Rave. Chris Sabin vs. Xavier: Xavier is really getting better, and I love Sabin, so this should be a fun match. Sabin faces elimination if he loses, and I think it will happen at this show. Dan Maff vs. BJ Whitmer: Man, this card is really fucking solid. This should be really good too, and I'll go with Whitmer getting what I guess is an upset. Jack Evans vs. Hydro: Hydro has a lot of talent, and I hear all good things about Jack Evans. Sounds like another good match, I think this one will go to Hydro. Jimmy Jacobs & Alex Shelley vs. Outcast Killazs vs. Dunn & Marcos vs. Fast Eddie & Don Juan: I'm not a fan of scramble matches, but they can be fun sometimes. I'll pick Jacobs and Shelly. Special K vs. Carnage Crew: They wouldn't switch the tag titles again, would they? Special K will win somehow. Looking at this card, every single match except for Special K vs. CC could be ***+, which is pretty amazing. If Joe/Homicide and Walters/Daniels deliver, this could be show of the year.
  21. Joe-Styles could be the next Vader-Sting feud. As far as the match with Awesome, please don't judge Joe on that. Mike Awesome is just so washed up and awful these days, he can't have good matches anymore.
  22. If you have a guy that can be such an obnoxious dickhead, it works in his favor to be small. People will just be dying for the big guy to kick his ass.
  23. whoops, double post.
  24. Seeing as Hogan supposedly hasn't signed a contract with TNA yet, it would be badass if WWE signed him away as the GM. Man, I would laugh my ass off.
  25. The fact that they have booked him like morons does not mean they can't change it. His promo work in RoH is the best I've seen since Cactus Jack in ECW, he is a freaking heat machine, and the straight-edge gimmick with promos on Hogan's steroids would be *incredible*. The idea that you can only have people that are big, established names be main eventers is the idea that drove WCW into the ground. Should the main event be Dusty Rhodes vs. Hulk Hogan? They're both well known, it will surely draw money! EVERYONE in TNA is going to be small next to Hogan save a small few. Let's think back, say, 5 years ago. "There's no money in Rock-Austin, Rock's just a midcard IC Title guy" Give me a break.
