Ray Rice broke a huge run then just scored on a 3-4 yrd TD. Rutgers 20, Pitt 10.
-
Pitts gets to within 3, 4th quarter, trails Rutgers 13-10 with 13:23 left. Go Rutgers! Just so I have somewhere to go tonight since my school has Fall Break, its 15 degrees out, and Rutgers should be celebrating a HUGE nationall televised win if they can do it. Defense has been great in this one. RU led Pitt 6-3 at halftime. Palko just threw a broken play strike to the back of the endzone to get it within 3. My two favorite teams of the past couple years have been Oregon and Rutgers. Because a good friend goes to Oregon for grad school and Rutgers is the local favorite, even though they've been really bad. So good for them. OU is mailing it in after the Cal game, it seems.

Indy Shows in the Pennsylvania/New Jersey Area
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to Shooting Star's topic in General Wrestling
CZW Cage of Death is the biggest indy show in the area but is after Dec. 3rd, so might not fit your schedule. ROH and CZW have a Philly show in November. PWU has a Philly show in November. -
On WWE.com, if you go to the live events page, you can see the Dec. 4th House Show has Flash Funk vs. Gregory Helms listed.

Tiffany HATES Angela, as she is the #2 slayer to Angela's #1, and feels she has betrayed heaven. However, Spawn killed Tiffany in her two book appearences by melting her down to her bones. If she came back after that, I dunno, but Angela herself got killed by Malebolgia. So I don't think so.

Thomas Spear was a professional wrestler. Early in his career he was known as Corporal Kirchner and is known in North America for his brief feud with Nikolai Volkoff in the WWF in 1986. He was considered one of the toughest men in the WWF at the time and his career suffered because many wrestlers were afraid to to work with him. He was terminated by the WWF and allegedly assaulted Vince McMahon in the process. He then made a successful wrestling career for himself in Japan. He sought out a wrestling career in Japan, using the Super Leather and Leatherface gimmicks. His career in Japan was as the masked Leatherface, utilising the mask and character of the villain of the movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He originally wrestled for Atsushi Onita's FMW promotion and was considered by many to be the toughest hardcore wrestler in FMW. He was put into jail for six months following an attempted assault by a fan, which left the fan with severe facial injuries. During his brief time in jail, the Leatherface character which Kirschner created was given to another wrestler, Rick Patterson, who eventually left FMW and went to IWA. During his stint in IWA, Kirschner was released from prison, and during a subsequent Leatherface (Patterson) match in IWA, the original Leatherface (Kirschner) appeared in the crowd. This set up the team of the Leatherfaces, which lasted only one match and was intended as a transition of the character away from Patterson. The match was a Bed of Nails match (and was part of the 1995 King of the Deathmatch tournament in Japan) against two popular wrestlers, Shoji Nakamaki and Hiroshi Ono. In a match that would become legendary among hardcore wrestling fans, Kirschner ripped off a piece of the bed of nails and placed it on Ono's throat, before performing a leg-drop. He then powerbombed Ono onto the bed of nails. Kirschner afterward left the promotion. After his departure, the promotion claimed that he was fired in an attempt to salvage Ono's destroyed reputation. In 2005, ECWA Super 8 Tournament Finalist Andrew Ryker said Kirschner was his inspiration for getting into the wrestling business. Kirschner died on Sunday, October 15 2006 of natural causes at his home in White Marsh, Maryland. He is survived by his two sons, daughter and step-daughter, as well as two grandchildren.

On the eve of Kurt's TNA debut.....
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to Myxamatosis's topic in TNA Wrestling
Kurt Angle's 5 Best Matches 1. Benoit/Angle Rumble 03 2. Benoit/Austin SummerSlam 01 3. 40-Minute Fatal Fourway #1 Contender's Match on Smackdown! before Armageddon 2002 4. No Mercy 02 - Tag Titles 5. Smackdown 2/3 Falls Late 2002 Tag Title Match re: Angle/Lesnar Seriously, Angle/Lesnar followed the MUCH better work Angle did with Eddie, Rey, Benoit, Edge, etc. in late 2002. If you watched late 2002 and then the Angle/Lesnar stuff, you'd think: "Lesnar/Angle, damn that was pretty good." But you'd be dissapointed that it wasn't as quick or suspenseful as the Smackdown Six stuff. They botched the WM finish, and the match result was a 100% foregone conclusion, anyway. SSlam's match was mediocre and suffered from Vince being involved. Smackdown free TV Ironman was very good, but not better than those 5. -

I'm not disputing the unprofessional actions of Steve-O. I'm just saying that Umaga had no right to do what he did, either. They're both at fault. WWE should've better prepped Steve-O and explained the nature of the business and importance of selling the move, not just getting hit with it. I also never said that Steve-O had talent. Just that he's much more popular and a bigger star than the WWE's entire active roster. -

Umaga has NO RIGHT to stiff the "Jackass" stars, seeing as how they are BIGGER STARS THAN 99% of the WWE ROSTER and were PAID to PERFORM. Don't be so stupid. -

It's a minor thing, but as much as I didn't think I'd like it, the new Raw theme song gives the show a fresh, fast-paced theme. Agree? -

Wow, 36 minutes in and an A+ show, and there hasn't been one in like 5 years. Hopefully the IC title match delivers. -

Actually, WWE.com mentions an interaction between John Cena and Kevin Federline and to watch the show to see what happens. I for one think Federline is going to show him how to properly rap. Boyeee. (OK, so maybe not.) "RAW goes Hollywood John Cena and K-Fed came face to face at yesterday's Supershow. Watch RAW tonight to see what happened." -wwe.com -

Yes, Edge/Orton dress up as DX, make fun of their decade-old gimmick, with Hunter then calling Orton gay and Shawn calling Edge's dick small. Meh. Though I don't get the logic in making fun of a "gay" person and then having 15,000 fans scream "Let's Get Ready to Suck It!" -
LMAO @ thought of any half-way decent-looking girl playing Warcraft.

Raw / Smackdown Spoilers for 10/16 and 10/20
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
Although quarter hours are inaccurate ways to measure overness and starpower, and have been since the 90's, that's ridiculous. Hunter doesn't lose viewers...his crap opponents like the Spirit Squad, Cade, and Murdoch do. It is a testament to Hunter's star power that fans get turned off by his working such terrible acts. Cena, on the other hand - is ALWAYS involved with other, strange acts to keep the crowd watching. Aiding Jim Duggan against Edge, saving and teaming with Maria - HELL, THE WRITING TEAM RECENTLY HAD CENA TEAM UP WITH DX just to help get Cena some face heat. Don't be so naive. Cena's matches have heat? Only when working Edge, who may be the only person on the roster he can get heat segments on, since he is a turnoff to anyone in the crowd not under 13. And even then - the most cynical haters who aren't fans of Cena OR Edge wanted Edge to take the belt, and still do. Cena's movie just COMPLETELY DID A NOSEDIVE - since he has no name value with mainstream America and no WWE fans save the young viewers or "fans that'll see ANYTHING WWE-related" didn't see it. And the DX segments, even in babyface-hating Philly (where ironically they got HUGE babyface reactions), DESTROY Cena's interview segments for crowd heat. Do the DX segments suck? YES. But they're more over than the WWE Champion's. -
