  1. Johnson and Holmes are no brainers to me. If this is a league with people you know, try to get a read on who they are keeping. If you sense there are going to be some QBs available drop Hasselbeck and keep Baltimore. But if people are hanging onto their QBs, keep Hasselbeck.
  2. I thought the other co-MVP was supposed to be the one choking this weekend?
  3. I am through PRIDE 12 and a few matches of 14 and just wanted to say that Matsui/Pele rocked the motherfucking house.
  4. Figure I'll throw this in here. Pretty sure it has been asked before, but how is the full set of King of the Cage (101 fights/$20)? Worthy of purchase? Fucking Suncoast is just rocking it with these DVDs. Everything else they have is overpriced like a motherfucker, but the MMA dvds are slipping through the cracks which kicks ass. Picked up Pride 12,14,17 today (total $30) and if they suck I am quitting with PRIDE and am going to tell everyone in the WWF folder that RRR is full of shit with this MMA stuff. You better hope I like it RRR. Yes, this was mostly a been up for 20 hours rambling post.
  5. Quick question: like I said I didn't read the whole thing, but is the debate over who is the better team or who deserves to be in the game?
  6. Three teams vs. ranked opponents. And I am not giving any credit to a team being a certain rank when the teams met. Final rankings count, no other. Oklahoma beat no. 5 Texas no. 22 Oklahoma State lost to no. 10 Kansas State LSU beat: no. 11 Georgia (2X) no. 18 Mississippi lost to: no. 17 Florida USC beat: no. 14 Washington State
  7. And you have yet to give me a good solid reason why they are better aside from "OU got beat by K-State." which I've already destroyed. I'm still waiting for you to come up with something valid besides an insult. Wait wait wait you destroyed what now? I didn't read the last page since it seemed to be back and forth bitching between you and anklelock, but you can not destroy that point. You can disagree and bring up valid points as to why that shouldn't matter. But there is no way in hell you can "destroy" the arguement that OU went out and got blown the fuck out in their biggest game of the year. And you wonder why people don't take your football opinion seriously.
  8. Coachspeak isn't worth much. If you listen to Andy Reid, Freddie Mitchell is still only the 3rd best receiver on the Eagles. And if you believe that, you have not seen an Eagles game this year.
  9. Ditto what Bruiser said. Look at it this way. 1% = 92 million dollars. If T3 even approaches T2 in quality that could have made up that 92 million. Without even taking the 3rd Matrix into account. The year was banking on sequels and the efforts turned out ranged from piss poor to decent, but dissappointing.
  10. If the Pats were to win the Super Bowl this year and make it to at least the AFC championship next year, I will start to consider them in a dynasty discussion. But like you said, they went 9-7 last year, I don't care who they played. If they are a dynasty caliber team, they wouldn't lose 7 games. But at this point, we are talking two great years out of three. That doesn't exactly scream dynasty.
  11. Just a quick question: What does it matter if LSU/OU is the best game ever? I am sure there have been games where two losing teams play each other, yet it is a great game. Are we supposed to give them a trophy for it? And to even suggest that teke doesn't have as much pride in his team as you have in yours, just because he hasn't ranted and raved the last month about "OMG WTF YOUZ LYKE USC", is a disgrace.
  12. And let's not forget, this incarnation of the Patriots isn't even a good enough team to bring in the dynasty term. Their running game may be getting better the last few weeks, but I wouldn't say it is good right now. And their offense, as a whole, is inconsistent.
  13. There will be no dynasties. Out of those ton of draft picks, some won't work out. And the ones that do work out will be wanting pay raises in the near future. The best you could hope for in this day and age is to consistently be good enough, to be in a position to win. Like the Pats and Eagles have done the last few years. But you aren't going to get the dominant, perennial Super Bowl teams anymore.
  14. They won't fire Maven. If they fired him, any hope of restarting the Tough Enough series would die. And Vince may not want it now, but down the line if he thinks he can make money off it he will bring it back. But if they dumped the first winner that quick, that chance is done. Firing Nowinski is just silly. I only recall him having two injuries. The broken nose and the concussion. Both freak injuries, not like constant torn muscles or chronic pain in knees, neck or back. He has been out for a while, but it takes time for Post-Concussion Syndrome. You come back too soon, your career ends. But stay out until you are ready and you can be back to normal (ex. Ricky Craven in NASCAR).
  15. Well if Purdue and Florida State both win I will make out like gangbusters, as I am the only one to have picked both of them. Odds of that happening: slim
  16. I would never buy a ticket to an event at the Wachovia Center on ebay. They have the scanning system so you can just print out your tickets online. I am never buying a ticket to an event on ebay where you can get in without the real ticket, I am too distrusting. And you bought one of the $300 tickets just to scalp? I can see taking a chance on a cheaper ticket or something, but to risk $300, no way in hell.
  17. I'll agree that the RNN segments and timing were done well and that it made the character work. And that the irony in that character was much better than the bluster without irony character he is now. I just didn't like the idea that because Orton showed some charisma in those segments meant he is that same charasmatic guy. I think it was shown pretty quickly once he came back, that there was a lot of pretty packaging in those segments that helped Orton out a lot.
  18. I have only seen the Brosnan Bond's so for me: 1. Goldeneye - I like the fact that before the credits role there is already a major development. And the skydive into the plane was pretty cool. 2. Die Another Day - This lost a little for me, because it is very similar to the opening scene of TND in that he gets in the vehicle, turns and fires the whole time, before getting into a chase. But I like the stuff before and after the chase more in this one than TND. 3. Tomorrow Never Dies - See #2 4. World is Not Enough - This one IMO stinks. The boat chase that never ends.
  19. At this point only a Benoit Rumble win would make up for the fact they are putting on Holly-Lesnar at the RR. Still though, I won't believe it til I see it.
  20. The only thing I would change is at some point in 2004 I think Matt Hardy's name comes up on the job to HHH wheel. Resulting in a quicky face turn, month long push, loss, and right back to low card.
  21. I never understand when RNN segments come into arguements. You mean with pre-production and the ability to have multiple takes he can have some charisma? Wow. I enjoyed the RNN bits and was looking forward to seeing what transpired when he came back. His first night back he gets in the ring with Y2J and HBK, stumbles over his lines, and the pretty packaging that was being used in the RNN segments really gets accentuated.
  22. I'll give my experience since I just started about 6 months ago. So you could probably relate to that. Timeline - RRR pimps PRIDE to no end that it gets stuck in my head - PRIDE 26: Bad to the Bone comes around so I order it and really dig it. - PRIDE Total Elimination. Loved this. - At this point I started to work backwards getting the second part of PRIDE GP 2000 and Sak/Royce rocked. - Picked up the Opening round to PRIDE GP. Dug it. - Got PRIDE Final Conflict (the most recent PPV) and it fucking rocked balls. - Picked up PRIDE 10 at Suncoast for $10 and it kicked ass with a Vovchanchyn/Inoue ass beating, Sak/Renzo Gracie was great. Mezger/Silva rocked. Throw in a couple sweet KOs and it made for a kick ass show. And the productions they run kick ass kinds of ass. Their sets put WWF ones to shame. Just adding a little bit more to the showmanship and pagentry that people usually think doesn't relate to MMA.
  23. Favorite moments that I quote still: - The aforementioned singing bears - "If I could be a vegetable, I'd be a carrot" - "Nilknarf" - "Kabong"
  24. I will also get Chapelle Show and The Critic when they come out, as well as any Daria seasons if they do them.
  25. 24 1,2 Angel 1,2 Buffy 1-5 Clerks: TAS Family Guy 1,2 Futurama 1,2 Married w/ Children 1 Oz 1,2 Simpsons 1-3 Smallville 1 Sopranos 2 South Park 1,2 Sports Night Transformers 1 And I do plan on getting all of the other seasons of the aforementioned either when they come out or when extra money is available.
