  1. I saw it theorized on McLaughlin tonight that the Dean "Road to Insignificance" began after the capture of Saddam and Dean's subsequent speech downplaying it. Not sure if that was the exact point, but it's something to think about.
  2. This is maybe the most retarded casting decision I've ever heard.

    Marvel vs. DC

I can buy Captain Marvel being able to beat Thor. I'm still hot about Supes beating Thor, though. That's fucked up, and just another reason why Supes is one of my least favorite superheroes.
  4. I agree with Tim, which is something of a rarity. Dustin was in a shitload of good (if not great) matches in the early 90s. He was a good worker then, he's still a pretty good worker today.
  5. Screw a Confidential piece. If it's going to be aired uncut in Japan then I'll just buy the show(s) of a puro tape dealer.
  6. A few have hypothesized about it here, but has there been any word on whether the WWE is taping these shows to be released on some sort of "WWE RAW in Japan" DVD? I honestly think they'd do do quite a good bit of business if they released one of those commercially, not just in Japan but here in the States.
  7. I got no problem with them signing Spanky or Dustin to deals. Spanky is very talented and extremely underutilized, and the guy'd be a tremendous asset to them outside of any silly Invasion angle - he'd be perfect for the X-Division. Dustin's a pretty decent worker and if properly motivated could be a solid addition. But Gowan? Or Savage, or Chyna, or Nash, or Hall, or Luger, etc.?!?!?! The NWA is very quickly going to force me to make a decision on whether or not to abandon them if they keep up with the fucking retarded hiring decisions. And as of this point, that decision isn't going in their favor.
  8. Heh. And this was just a throwaway bout - on VELOCITY no less - to further my Eddie / O'Haire feud.
  9. Did she just admit they're together? Victoria is married to someone else. As is Stevie. Don't ruin the illusion. I like to think of them as being together. They make a cute little emotionally-disturbed couple. Two things: 1) Is Victoria half-Japanese?!?!?! 2) Victoria loving Family Guy cements her as my absolute favorite WWE Diva.... .....at least until Alexis Laree debuts.
  10. EXACTLY. Shit, if Mania doesn't get Orton over, they'll try even HARDER. There's really no upswing to this if you're not an Orton fan.
  11. I can't really argue with this booking. It would give instant heat to a Sasaki / Nakamura match, and give the kid a bit of a rub when he wins back the title. He'd have to, wouldn't he? Unless Chono's sort of like the HHH of New Japan. I think most RATIONAL people would agree, but Inoki's shoot obsession is going to continue no matter what.
  12. It seems likely that he would, seeing as one of his children is gay. Sort of how Kerry is breaking his own party mold by disengenuously asserting he's against gay marriage? No, I think you were more trying to pin this on the Christians, but that theory's kind of shot to hell.
  13. Sorry, I stopped reading everything after this sentence.
  14. 99.99% sure it'll be Chono. Management seems really down on Tenzan. Can't see him getting the belt back anytime soon.
  15. If her ego could be tamed, the Dems should try and make her accept a VP nomination. An Edwards / Clinton ticket in 2008 could be quite formidable. The hardline left would love that Hillary's there, and Edwards could presumably court the moderate left and the moderate unaligned. Screw 2004, 2008 is when things get REALLY interesting.
  16. They won't. A gay marriage amendment will never happen. NEVER. Because it would have to be approved by both houses of Congress and be ratified by 2/3rds of the states (roughly 34). Do you honestly think that a gay marriage ban amendment would survive through all of that? It doesn't have a chance in hell. Which is why Bush can support it - because he knows that it'll never become reality. Meanwhile, he takes a position on an issue which a great many people agree with. It's not just Bush, I should remind all of my liberal friends here - John Kerry, the unofficial Democratic nominee, has been running like a motherfucker to the center on the issue to distance himself from his own home state's position on the matter. I think he even went so far as to come flat out and say yesterday that he doesn't support gay marriage.
  17. Mike, if I'm not mistaken the Defense of Marriage Act allows those states which do not wish to recognize the laws of another state regarding gay marriage to do so. Thus, those states which have ratified the DMA (and there's over 30 of them I believe) would NOT recognize a gay marriage from MA. The DMA basically circumvents the full faith & credit clause of the Constitution. But I see an amusing theme reaccuring again here. As soon as is this issue is brought up, certain people (on the left) here immediately start the OMG CHRISTIAN OPPRESSORS!!!!!111 rhetoric. Like I said - at least 51% of Americans (a majority) don't like gay marriage. That's of 300 million Americans. Are they all religious extremists? Do all of them base their anti-marriage stance on religious beliefs? It's foolish to assume so. A minority do, but just because they're vocal do not assume that means they speak for everyone. The more accurate reason is that most people are TRADITIONAL, with traditional values that stress that marriage equals man + woman. Oh, and one more thing: you're the liberals - you're supposed to be the OPEN-minded ones. Don't automatically assume that those who oppose gay-marriage have some sort of direct hatred of gays. Their opposition to gay marriage may be indirect discrimination on their part, but I think it's probably accurate to say that MOST people who oppose gay marriage don't hate or dislike gay people. Hell, many - if not most - would probably support civil unions. It's just the concept of marriage that has TRADITIONAL as well as religious connotations.
  18. People like you keep saying this. And I have to remind you every time - you DO realize that a MAJORITY of the people in this country do not support gay marriage, don't you? The Washington Post even admitts this in an article today on the MA ruling. Doesn't make those who oppose it right, but I would think it's a fair assumption to say that, say, 51% of 300 million Americans aren't religious extremists or Christian Coalition members. You're offbase. More than just a small group of people oppose this. Bush could stand up today and say, "You know, I don't like gay marriages", and he would legitimately be speaking for a MAJORITY of Americans. Don't obfuscate that fact by trying to pin this on a minority of constituents as if they're the ones to blame for anti-gay-marriage sentiment.
  19. Uh huh Mike. It's not like Roe v. Wade struck down laws against Abortion. Nah. It's not that simple. Nope. To strike down laws, they just made more laws. You're doing exactly what you're accusing Mike of doing - oversimplifying the issue. The situation regarding abortion and the Supreme Court is the same, in many ways, as is the situation in MA now - the court has ruled a law unconstitutional. Did they specifically write new laws? No, but that decision leaves the legislature with no other option but to rewrite the laws. It happened with Roe, it's going to happen with MA - they MA legislature either has to rewrite the constitution to include gay marriage or rewrite it to exclude them specifically.....but then the court has already shown that it won't stand for that. Thus, in a somewhat circuitous way, the court is making the law rather than just interpreting it, because they're leaving the legislative branch without any other options. And Rob, for every article that you post stating that abortion or privacy rights are inherent in the Constitution, I could post another arguing that they're a total judicial creation that the Justices pulled out of their ass. Like I said - postive law isn't necessarily wrong, but it's not necessarily RIGHT either.

    WMD inquiry..

It doesn't seem like Iraq really had any real organization, so they may not have had any documentation of the destruction (or sale) of any of those weapons. No, there's a problem we have there - we have thousands upon thousands of recovered documents but not enough manpower to translate them. Our intelligence work there is FAR from complete, but people want answers now, of course.
  21. You're right, it's all part of a secret plot run by the Illuminati, which George W. Bush happens to be a member of. Don't tell anyone I told you that. I've got some protection due to my involvement with the Knights Templar, but those Skull & Bones buggers can be real assholes about leaked information.
  22. Ho-lee SHIT. What a fucking "Occurence at Owl Creek" ending, Batman. But with Lindsay gone now, who's this season's REAL big bad?
  23. You're just crossed the line into pitiful and sad at this point. Actually I think he crossed that line with the thread over the weekend. He was the one who admitted he'd like to see the President dead, right?
  24. What's the point of this poll? If you hate Bush and think that he lied - or, more accurately, WANT to believe that he lied - you're not going to believe otherwise, regardless of whether or not the intelligence was bad (and many indications are that it was).
  25. You're just crossed the line into pitiful and sad at this point.
