I'm looking for any RAW or Nitro from 1997 or 1998 that I don't have. It'd be cool to get a collection of 3-4 on each tape, so I don't get cluttered with too many tapes. Or if you know anywhere that puts them on DVD, that would be cool too. Let me know what you have, since I have some stuff from 1997 and a little from 1998, but still want a lot more. I'm also looking for a good deal on a WCW Great American Bash 1997 pay per view. I might add more here as I think of more stuff I want. Thanks!

Well...at least they've been elevated since then, I guess... But the workrate difference between them and Cena/Carlito is just mind boggling.
-
Nobody is allowed to work a different style, so the in-ring action just isn't much fun anymore. I like watching hard hitting stuff where each guy has his own in-ring style, instead of everyone wrestling the "WWE main event" style.
-
After watching a lot of indy stuff (ROH, IWA-MS, more) I just don't care about the WWE in-ring stuff anymore. For the most part it just sucks. It's just the characters and angles I really care about now, because great matches don't come along too often, especially on TV.

Wade Keller gave the main event **1/2 and said it was a good match.
-
That'd be a cool idea, we'll have to figure out a way to do something like that. Old School Theater, we'll call it.

He has his own blog at www.livejournal.com/~rspwfaq and that's all I know.

I love this thread.

Yep, Malibu didn't make it sound mandatory. Your fault, Zack!

I just love the randomness of these. For example: ECW Tag Titles Dean Malenko and Joe Malenko d. Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn when Dean made Dan tap to a cross-armbreaker, ***1/2 (9:20) Pitbulls 1 and 2 sat at ringside. But why were the Pitbulls sitting at ringside? TUNE IN TO NITRO TO FIND OUT!

Uh oh, CM Funk.... "Randy Orton must captain one team and must be eliminated, but cannot be eliminated by the captain on the opposing team." Great team names though.

When did Nitro go from 2 to 3 hours?

This is a pay per view I've seen once, but it was several years ago and to be honest I can't remember anything about it. I've always thought that the old school Survivor Series shows are fun to watch or good for a rent or something to check out, though I can see why they started moving away from the "team" formats since the matches were pretty "meaningless". I guess, though, that they've kept the old school elimination matches in most of the Survivor Series shows, but after the 1990 show started to add title matches.

Hey, you can always put TNA as your wild card.
-
I actually liked the Bret/Diesel Rumble 1995 match a LOT, about as much as the Survivor Series one.

I never saw the first one, but heard great things about it.

Suspense/Horror 1 hr. 40 min. A young man named Adam (LEIGH WHANNELL) wakes to find himself chained to a rusty pipe inside a decrepit subterranean chamber. Chained to the opposite side of the room is another bewildered captive, Dr. Lawrence Gordon (CARY ELWES). Between them is a dead man lying in a pool of blood, holding a .38 in his hand. Neither man knows why he has been abducted; but instructions left on a microcassette order Dr. Gordon to kill Adam within eight hours. If he fails to do so, then both men will die, and Dr. Gordon's wife, Alison (MONICA POTTER), and his daughter will be killed. Recalling a recent murder investigation by a police detective named Tapp (DANNY GLOVER), Dr. Gordon realizes he and Adam are the next victims of a psychopathic genius known only as "Jigsaw." With only a few hours left to spare, they must unravel the elaborate puzzle of their fate in the midst of mounting terror. The killer has provided them with only a few clues and two handsaws - too weak to break their steel shackles, but strong enough to cut through flesh and bone. Release Date: October 29, 2004 (wide). MPAA Rating: R for strong grisly violence and language. Distributor: Lions Gate Films http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&id=1808579789&cf=info Check out the trailer for this shit and see what you think.

It'd be weird to have JBL/Booker, since Booker just lost in a US title feud. But I suppose they could go there.
