Today I traded Hideki Matsui, Chris Britton, and Jose Veras to the Dodgers for Alfonso Soriano, John Broxton, and a AAA pitcher. Then I released Mike Myers and signed David Wells. I'm 46-9 on June 4, 2007. The computer trades with itself wayyyy too much. Soriano got dealt to LA for Andre Either and Russell Martin. Martin then ended up being sent to Toronto for BJ Ryan.Then the Cubs sent Ted Lilly and Matt Murton to Atlanta for Chipper Jones. This week, Richie Sexson got traded for Randy Winn, and Marcus Giles got traded for Dan Johnson and Mark Ellis. There have been about a million trades since Opening Day.

I had MVP 04 and didn't like it. I'd love to remember why, but I sold it back a while ago. I know I didn't like the franchise mode and the points-based contracts and the player morale was really hard.

The exact moment that A-Rod became a scapegoat in NY was when he bitch slapped the ball out of Bronson Arroyo's glove in the ALCS. All the Yankees fan anger was concentrated to him, and it snowballed from there. Although the seeds were planted during the A-Rod/Jeter/Nomar debates and watered by Rodriguez's comments about Jeter in Esquire Magazine after they both signed their big contracts.

If he opts out, the media scrutiny won't go away. It will only get worse on him. If I've learned anything about sports in the last few years, it's that most people take what ESPN says as the bible, and they will never let this story go.
