Speaking of which, is there anyone who can provide a tape/dvd of the parade tomorrow? With the dish, I lack Philly stations at the moment. -

Had I the day off from work, I would have taken the drive down and met up with friends. Unfortunately I'll have to settle for taping it on television. -

Lidge's postseason ERA after '05 was 2.52, so he was always a capable postseason closer. This postseason though launched him into the stratosphere. Seven saves on his record now ranks him third all time. -

It's the next morning, and somehow Philadelphia is still standing. This is absolutely fantastic for this sports fan, who had never seen any favorite win a championship in his lifetime. For all but one player, this is their first World Championship. And it's something that even coming into the playoffs, I never could have expected. -

I'm about to go off-topic a little, but did Flair ever wrestle Andre? They had a match in 1976 that finished as a runner up for Match of the Year in the Apter Mags. -

The Dusty dvd is actually worth watching/buying, IMO. Most of the matches are fairly good. -
Perhaps a dome....

Here's my list of the top ten free agents in terms of 2008 Win Shares. 1. Manny Ramirez (34) 2. Mark Teixeira (30) 3. C.C. Sabathia (25) 4. Bobby Abreu (24) 5. Carlos Delgado (24) 6. Raul Ibanez (23) 7. Pat Burrell (21) 8. Garret Anderson (19) 9. Ken Griffey Jr. (19) 10. Mike Mussina (18) 11. Ryan Dempster (18) 12. Casey Blake (18)

Rivera, Soria and Nathan are the three I'd rank above Lidge. It is probably not entirely fair to qualify relievers by baserunner prevention, but not by run prevention. Both metrics you used penalize Lidge because he walks many hitters. A couple of salient points. 1. Batters hit 23 extra base hits against Kerry Wood compared to just 13 against Brad Lidge. Batters have far more difficulty hitting Lidge with any kind of authority. If you want to use a metric outside ERA, look at opponents' OPS. Lidge's hitters hit .565, compared to .632 for Lidge. 2. Lidge did not blow a save all season. 3. To emphasize the second point, Lidge led all relievers this season in Win Probability added. That metric sees him nearly a full win more valuable than any other relief pitcher this season.

Tomorrow is going to be a heck of a night in the sports complex. The Sixers' home opener is at 6pm as well. Game time for the Phillies/Rays game is officially set at 8:37pm. Remember that Obama ad is set to air beforehand. -
It's not the job. Simply that WWE claimed for years that it was a record at nine seconds.

How did Brad Lidge fall to seventh? His ERA is a full run lower than Kerry Wood's. I can't see him lower than fourth.

I'd love to if it weren't for the winter storm warning all day today. And the minor factor that there's a mexican restaurant down the street that has 1/2 off fajitas every Tuesday. -

In the 1970s, he toured. He main evented in the AWA, Florida, Georgia, Mid South, St. Louis, Kansas City, All Japan, WWWF, to name a few. Either he had every promoter's ear or he was really, genuinely popular. -
they would never of worked as a heel/face
EVIL~! alkeiper replied to chrislatimer's topic in General Wrestling
I think almost any heel can work babyface late career. There comes a point where even megaheels like Fred Blassie, Sheik, etc. are around so long, they have the fans grudging respect. Match them up against a bigger heel, you can get something special. -

Dusty is unfortunately best known for the mid to late 80s, when he got older and hung on to the top too long. In the 1970s, he was the national #2 babyface behind Andre the Giant. -

Might this be a good thing for the World Series as a whole? When the game resumes it'll be three and a half innings of a tie game. We know it's close heading into the late innings, and it's a game of great importance. A game with an expected run time of 90 minutes might draw casual interest. -

Baseball only went into November once, and that was because a week was lost due to 9/11. Because of the World Baseball Classic, I believe baseball will be going into November in 2009 It's not the World Baseball Classic. The problem is simply that the first Monday of April falls on the 6th. -
