  1. Giving this a fresh start. I see there's a St. Joseph's/Oklahoma rematch in the opening round. That St. Joe's team is one of my personal favorites and that game was a lot of fun in 2004.
  2. This thread is done, in any case.
  3. What fared worse, hitting or pitching?
  4. How important is a specialist in the grand scheme of things?
  5. Lawler's WWE stint did him good, because he displayed that he was every bit as capable a heel as he was a face.
  6. I'll switch to Tiger Stadium if it absolutely becomes a problem.
  7. I chose Yankee Stadium. You can't take the park away from me, I arranged my entire draft around it. I mean, not to be picky but it's not in the rules that two teams can't use the same park. I have four lefties in my starting rotation.
  8. I wanted to create an "It's a Wonderful Life" parody. The climax would come when Marvin inquires about the storefront of black and white televisions. "You weren't there to tell them about high definition."
  9. Wrestlemania is up on my system. Sixty minutes long. Honestly, this was kind of a wasted effort for the most part. Pat Patterson had a few interesting tidbits but the other three (Hayes, Foley, Dusty) weren't even around for 2/3rds of the shows.
  10. I think most of the players who have the numbers will get in eventually, including McGwire, Bonds and Clemens. As time passes, the character of players becomes obscured and the argument rests further and further on their statistics. So many professional athletes have taken some kind of drug that it becomes silly to punish a few. Wrestling's big problem is that the common drug concoction includes or included painkillers and recreational drugs. Baseball had a recreational drug problem in the 80s, but not to the same extent as professional wrestling. To answer the HOF voting question, I think Greg Maddux would draw the highest percentage. No steroid whispers, 347 career wins, if not Maddux then you might as well not have a Hall vote.
  11. The shame is that the Baseball Cube is far behind (still no independent league stats for 2007) and quite buggy at times. It is honestly too ambitious a site given its resources. One really great thing about this site is getting information about defunct minor league franchises in Allentown, Scranton, etc. Heck, Stroudsburg PA is represented!
  12. I caught the last inning of the Twins' broadcast today. Is it just me or is John Gordon one of the underrated radio guys in the business today? He's consistently good every time I tune in.
  13. But setting that aside and looking at skill, that amateur record means shit. Floyd Mayweather is the freakin' P4P boxing champion. The next boxer/fighter to make him look bad will be the first.
  14. It's not the craziest thing, only because Burke would have a huge weight advantage over Mayweather.
  15. Watching this Brian Pillman angle again. If ECW had gotten the feud with Pillman and Shane Douglas into the ring before circumstances intervened, holy CRAP would that have been a hot match. I dare say ECW never had a better angle going.
  16. This just came to my attention. The Society of American Baseball Research has created an online encyclopedia of minor league statistics. It's absolutely incredible. Have a great-uncle who claims of his days playing AA ball in the '50s? Check out his story. http://minors.sabrwebs.com/cgi-bin/milb.php Here's a treat. Randy "Macho Man" Savage: http://minors.sabrwebs.com/cgi-bin/player....ID=poffo-001ran Obviously statistics are not entirely complete, but this is an absolutely incredible resource.
  17. No banning for either, I'll make that clear. I'm considering a weekend/week's suspension for each of them, declaring it a "Marvin Free TSM Experience." I generally don't like the mob mentality that got WP and Damaramu banned.
  18. The Hart Foundation/Rockers clip is an entirely new match from Copps Coliseum in 1989. It's listed at 27 minutes long.
  19. If someone has something particularly interesting to say about an old school show, something two paragraphs or longer, it can merit its own thread. SNMEs should generally get their own thread.
  20. I'm pretty sure he's joking. Note the other names. Best music, I love when Chase Utley comes to the plate for Kashmir. Trevor Hoffman rocking Hells Bells is badass as well.
  21. Enough of this charade. Marvin is officially the worst poster at TSM.
  22. IF Hardy started using drugs because he did not get the freakin' World title, it's his own damn fault. Of course that's a really, really stupid discussion to be in the first place.
  23. The pictured unis are their home Sunday uniforms. They are a takeoff of their 1948 design.
  24. I actually bought one of those jerseys at the Majestic Store in Pen Argyl. The blue tops are their standard Spring Training top.
