Im stuck using a DVI-HDMI connector. The only thing is since DVI doesnt pass audio, the audio which the HDMI does pass wont go to the TV so you have to use the red/white audio cables. Im not at all an audiophile so I cant hear any difference at all. Also, theres a chance that the DVI isn't HDCP compatible which means some sources that are HDCP encrypted wont work, which includes BluRay and HD-DVD discs and some cable/sat boxes. Id make sure if you're buying a tv regardless that it have at least two sets of component inputs and ideally two sets of HDMI/DVI inputs to avoid running into input shortage problems like I am.

You were a little late with that deal..I had already bought my cables.

LOL.. nearing the 1 year anniversary of the infamous sports bar incident (sunday), my boss decides to hold the annual "half day of work and meet up somewhere party" next friday at the same exact sports bar...I fully expect to be pissed off at the lack of HD coverage of the ACC tournament, especially if the Terps are playing while Im there. Also, as much as I hate to mention it, things are looking a bit up for me lately. Im going to wait a bit before saying anymore specifically though..

Your home is burning down, what do you save?
MarvinisaLunatic replied to Youth N Asia's topic in General Chat
You're the only person I know that'd make the effort to even consider a stupid television but if it's so damn important, 200 lbs shouldn't be enough to prevent you, a reasonably big sized guy from carrying it out there unless you had to go down a flight of steps. Wouldn't you be more concerned about your recipes or something considering how much you avoided because of your "career"? Theres no way..the 3 delivery men had to have me take out the screen of my window and push the tv in through the window because it wouldnt fit through the door. So how the hell am I supposed to shove a 200lb tv through a window with no one to catch it on the other side? As for my recipes, already stated is the fact you cant save whole collections of things which pretty much means my cookbooks with all my recipes are toast, as are some other important things to me like my DVD collection and my video games. I could care less about my computer..I only paid $200 for it and I could use an excuse to buy a new one. I think Id make an effort to save my HD Tivo since if it gets burned up, its being replaced with a Directvs non-tivo HD-DVR that sucks since they dont make or sell the tivo version anymore. so there, Id save my HD tivo... -
why the hell are the ECW PPVs all in the South..hell theres not that much of a distance between Augusta GA and Jacksonville FL.. I probably wont order it either.

Trachsel got roughed up in his first inning as well..and The Orioles blew a lead in the 9th inning vs the Marlins, although it was against some guy named Deza..so it doesn't really matter too much. With the exception of Trachsel, I dont think any of the pitchers that pitched that are likely to be up with the Os on opening day pitched bad at all. Twp of the new guys in the bullpen, Guthrie and Baez pitched really well.

Me too. Even my scratched to hell, overplayed copy of MVP 2004 that won't even play on my Gamecube anymore. I just played some Def Jam Vendetta the other night on mine after seeing the previews for the new game..it looks good except for the prerendered cutscenes, no problem at all. Somepeople have problems with Wind Waker though over the component inputs..Ive not tried it on mine yet.

My TV is burning up because theres no way I could lift the freakin 200 lb thing on my own and out in time. I really have no clue. -

The Shining is being aired commercial free at 9...Im sure its edited though. Its not been on UHD but I notice that some of the movies have been. The episode of Tales from the Crypt on right now has Daniel Craig in it from 1996. -
Apparently the folks at Toshiba decided that they needed triple layer HD-DVDs to claim the high capacity award back from Blu Ray by 1 whole GB (3 17 GB layers for a total of 51 GB to Blu Ray's 50 GB). Of course, A) Who knows if the triple layer discs will work in currently available players and B) Sony was working on a 100 GB Blu Ray Disc..whatever. And, I have a problem because as much as I want to get a PS3 for the Blu Ray player, it doesn't upconvert DVDs and is supposedly a really horrid progressive scan (480p) DVD player so Id have to keep my upconverting DVD player. That means I wont have any open inputs to run the PS3 (Im pretty certain it has to go on Component since DVI isn't HDCP compatible, but that will still get me 1080i resolution on my TV). I could always rerun the Nintendo through composite but I really do notice the difference in picture over component vs composite on the nintendo. So who knows..I could get a switcher..

I got this from joystiq: 88 - NGamer UK 85 - Game Informer 84 - GameTrailers 84 - IGN 80 - GameDaily 74 - GameSpot 74 - GameBrink 55 - 1UP 50 - GamePro I was sorta interested possibly in this since I have SSX Tricky and SSX 3 and liked them both, but I might just hold off..

I Was gonna say ESPN sucks for having tech. difficulties right at the last 3 minutes of the Duke/Maryland game..but they finally got it fixed..and then lose it again right at the end..good thing the game is pretty much over. Oh, and Im a big fan of NASCAR (Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson). Danica Patrick did the right thing by not going to NASCAR..Montoya's getting schooled so far.

Lashley got 63 points last night! Im thinking they gave him 3 points for the cage shot because I only counted 7 chair shots and he got credited for 8 object shots..but who knows. Kennedy aslo had 23 points which was a decent pick.. Im still mired in the middle of the pack though..that No Way Out Week screwed me up for good it seems. I Was looking to next week and I wondered if anyone would be bold enough to spend 5 mil on Austin..I cant see him doing anything other than showing up so thats a really expensive 3 points.

this UConn/Nova game is pissing me off royally.

cannot wait for Maryland/Duke...

Yeah, because no one else wanted his lame ass after the pathetic 2005 season he had. Seriously. Musa Smith is capable enough to be the starter. If they really want to save more salary cap money or whatever they should dump Mike Anderson as he pretty much didnt do anything but sit on the bench and collect a paycheck when he should have been in there running when Jamal Lewis was struggling. They need to draft the RB out of Penn St (whose name escapes me at the time)..

The good news is we're one day closer to 97 Orioles vs 98 Astros (should be friday). I cant even begin to imagine what to expect.

Chiller Network coming March 1st
MarvinisaLunatic replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Television & Film
I know its on Directv, but I never watch it. They should have combined the two channels..I just took a look at the listings for Chiller for a couple days and its pretty much the same episode of each show that they air replayed over and over each day. They do have some interesting movies but nothing Im going to watch in 4:3 SD directv overcompressed crappy pq. -

Something just screems stretch-o-vision despite the fact that NBCU has done a lot of stuff right with Universal HD... -
I think my remote is screwed up. I was in the middle of playing COD3 and the batteries died. I found a second set of rechargables I keep on hand and put them in and they didnt work. I dug around and found a brand new pair of regular non rechargable duracells and they didnt work. I press a button and all 4 leds light up but nothing happens. I tried resynching the remote but it doesnt sync up, the leds all keep flashing and then quit after a while. ARGH. A seemingly simple enough fix..unplug for 30 seconds and it works again..but gee whiz..

Chiller - Dare to watch! Chiller is launching March 1st on Directv Channel 257 (and probably other platforms in the near future). While Sleuth focused on the mystery genre, Chiller will focus on the horror/wierd genre with programming such as Twin Peaks, Freddy's Nightmares, Friday the 13th: The Series, Tales From the Crypt, G vs E, American Gothic (my personal fave out of all of em) and Alfred Hitchcock Presents, along with movies in the same genre like Psycho. And, yes, eventually it will be in HD just like Sleuth will be..but for now I doubt I'll watch anything save for American Gothic.

You know HD-TV is making it when infomercials start to air in HD: Yippee! I demand a 24 hour HD Infomercial Channel.

Maybe that means that the King of the Ring Tournament will be held on RAW/SD and ECW..I dont know why they wouldnt just change the name back to King of the Ring though..

Nice pick. I was torn between him and Freel. Also a former Shorebird along with Vazquez and Orlando Cabrera. The Shorebirds were an A Ball Expos team in 1996 before turning into an A Ball Orioles team in 1997.
