  1. That wouldn't make you a geek. Just a pathetic goth twat. On the chart "People who buy expensive replicas of fictional fantasy swords" is right above furries in terms of geekdom. I dont really see whats so goth about having a LOTR sword..
  2. I was reading Fatwallet. Some people have cleared out entire shelves of games and spent upwards for $2,000 on just these titles, probably with the intent of trade ins/ebay. Im seriously doubting that my CC will have many games left, but maybe with GCs lack of popularity some of those games will still be there as everyone scarfed up PS2/X Box games instead..
  3. Tejada - .315 avg 15 HR 69 RBI .360+ OBP (Currently on a 19 game hit streak) Young - .330 avg 11 HR 49 RBI .360+ OBP Guillén - .321 avg 11 HR 57 RBI .380+ OBP Um..not hardly. Maybe the avg/obp mean something but Tejada has got more HR/RBI and is probably one of the hotter players in the league right now.
  4. I was just happy to A)Get a 1B that would be able to put up just about the same numbers as Nevin, B) Get a 3B eligible player in the event that maybe Nevin isn't out long, since Im relying on Newhan a ton C) Get rid of Eric Milton and his 1.50+ WHIP and 4.48 ERA. His now 11 wins are nice but he keeps giving up a ton of runs, only to be bailed out by the Phillies' Offense and eventually that will end. I thought he was a good pickup before the season but I just can't keep taking the high WHIP/ERA for the wins. I had intentions of dealing him after last week's 7 runs allowed effort and I was just looking for a reason to make a trade.
  5. Well now I gotta ask a question.. Would you have approved Blake/Lee for Milton. I backed out of that trade because I figured that it wouldnt have been passed because Blake and Lee was a lot to give up for Milton (and I realize that I was the one that would benefit).
  6. I hope that they ironed out a lot of the bugs. Supposedly the were willing to do a lot of work to improve it and over the course of last season. I forgot my password and couldnt figure out how to get it sent back to me. I wasn't going to suggest it again just because I find that the Yahoo leagues can be more fun and if you want keepers you can go the route of the NBA Fantasy League on Yahoo that Flik runs.
  7. I'll just wait to see if either of those other trades are accepted, but I like the trade. Im gonna send you a PM..
  8. Jeter is Jeter. Im sure people were voting for him even when he was hitting .150 or whatever. Tejada at least made the team, probably because they had to pick an Oriole to play. Mora being injured for the last 2 weeks is probably the reason why he wasnt on the 32nd man list.
  9. WTF: Its ashame I already have VJ, if you have a GC and dont get that for $4.99 than you are an idiot. I might try to get Time Splitters and one of the others up there, all the other Cube games aren't that great. Chances are though that they were cleaned out today.
  10. With Nevin out for who knows how long Im screwed in the H2H league although for now Im ok able to play Wilson at 1B. Im probably looking for a trade if I find out his injury is really long or even season ending (torn cartiledge sounds bad, I dunno). I'll be willing to trade: Jack Wilson Jose Vidro Eric Milton Cliff Lee for a 1B if I need to do so.
  11. I could argue Javy Lopez as being deserving of being a backup at Catcher but I wont. I knew Rodriguez would start and I figured Posada would get the backup but Martinez got it so thats why I won't argue. And you know Matsui will win the 32nd man vote in the AL. Abreu probably should get it in the AL.
  12. Clear Channel shouldnt be able to control the # of stations in the major markets that they do. Its quite the coincidence that since Bush was elected (bringing in new people in the FCC that he picked), that the FCC relaxed the ownership rules of TV/Radio stations allowing CC to own 6 or 7 stations in one market. Supposedly the FCC has three cornerstones that form its regulation of the broadcast industry: Competition, diversity and localism. The decision to allow CC to own 6+ stations in a market goes against all 3 of them. Not to mention the fact that since Bush was elected the FCC has gone nuts over fines for obscenity on TV/Radio. They were virtually non existant durring the Clinton Adminstration. Im not a real big fan of Howard Stern, but if he can have some sort of impact on the election to swing it in Kerry's favor then thats a good thing. I honestly think that its his ego talking and that while he might have a minor impact on the election it won't be as big as he's saying it will be.
  13. But..he did slap Garrison Cade on the ass 3 times and rub his shoulders for like 20 seconds.. I figured as much. WCW got a little over 4,000 in the same arena with the Thunder set when they did a Thunder Taping at the end of 1999. I doubt they could fit the Smackdown set in the place, but 4,000 people is about what they get for the Smackdown Tapings...
  14. If someone called me a geek for buying a replica sword from LOTR Id cut their head off, but not with the sword.
  15. If everything holds up the way it is now, Im going to be in 2nd place in the H2H league about 30 games back of White Sux.
  16. Fake Complaint against Apple/Toshiba based on the Induce Act from the EFF If this goes through, Apple and Toshiba are SCREWED because that is pretty much a clear infraction (and the EFF has done most of the work for the government .
  17. I do believe Fox Sports Radio reruns Mark Patrick on Sports from 12-3 (originally airs from 5-8 am), or at least they did before the local station switched over to Jim Rome. M.P.O.S. > EVERYTHING ELSE BIG NUTS Marvin (What is up big nuts?)
  18. Longest Orioles game (time wise) ever! 5:50 and counting as we head to the 16th inning.. NEWHAN SCORES! OS WIN! OS WIN!
  19. To the top of the 13th (Os had the bases loaded last inning and couldn't score, Phillies had a runner on 3rd and couldn't get him home) Neither team has anyone else left on the bench and only starters are left for pitchers. UPDATE: Eddy Rodriguez strikes out Thome and Burrell (5 Ks) to get out of a jam and send the game to the the 14th. The amazing thing is the crowd has stayed because of a fireworks show after the game. Update #2 Tejada gunned down at the plate to end the top of the 14th. I was reminded that the Phillies and Orioles went 17 innings last year at Camden Yards. Tejada with an awesome throw to get the runner out at first with the bases loaded to end the 14th.
  20. Os/Phillies tied at 6 top of the 12th I think both teams are down to 1 pitcher in the bullpen, but the bullpens for both teams have been strong (each has only allowed 1 run). Newhan just got his 3rd hit so the Os have something going on in the 12th..
  21. Os get a 5 run lead on the Phillies and now Riley is trying to give it right back.
  22. Sony has the "we want everything in to be in our own format" down pat. From Beta to this to their Blu-Ray Hi Def DVD format thats not backwards compatible with current CDs and DVDs (unless theres a second laser added to the hardware).
  23. 1. Reform Judaism (100%) 2. Sikhism (97%) 3. Orthodox Judaism (97%) 4. Neo-Pagan (91%) 5. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (89%) 6. Islam (87%) 7. Liberal Quakers (87%) 8. 24. With the vast number of cable networks covering the conventions (what business does ESPN have doing anything related to the convention?) there are plenty of other outlets besides CBS/NBC/ABC/FOX for people to watch the Convention. I dont see why the FCC would need to step in and do anything. It would be a different story if there were no alternatives to the networks and they decided to not have any coverage.
  25. I think it's been said that Bagwell's shoulder is a degenerative condition and there is no surgery to fix it. He'll either have to play through it, or retire. Albert Belle had a degenerative hip and had to retire. And the Orioles take 3 of 4 from the Royals (as predicted by me earlier in this thread) and now the Orioles head to Philly. Given that Ponson pitches Sunday vs Milton, I see the Orioles maybe winning 1 of the 3, probably tomorrow with Riley vs Myers.
