  1. Hillary winning off of FL and MI would just be a disaster of epic proportions. I remember talk about how Michigan actually looked like a win for Obama seeing as how like 40% of the vote was for people who actually showed up to cast their vote for 'none of the above.' But yeah, if she got the win from a contest where Obama wasn't even on the ballot?? That would not go over well. I think her campaign's problem is that it's running like the same old primary campaign. Where you try to target local stuff and get really dirty if need be. And then it's a clean slate for the general election. However, because of the insane amount of interest in this primary that's really not the case. It seems like it's a 3 way national general election right now.
  2. Episode 8 was just absolutely classic.
  3. How did Jessica Alba somehow get A-list status? She's only been in two 100Mil+ movies (http://boxofficemojo.com/people/chart/?vie...jessicaalba.htm) and those were both Fantastic 4, so that clearly doesn't make her the draw. Hell, she's only BEEN in like 10 movies Plus she's a terrible actress.
  4. N64.
  5. Same since the yellow board days.
  6. Now there's an idea, every classroom has to have at least one student trained as a secret black-ops super agent.
  7. Ugh. So you can't picture a situation where some goth wiener kid is wandering around in a black trenchcoat looking mildly 'suspicious' and then quickly goes for his MP3 player and the fired up redneck with the carry permit gets scared, draws and guns him down and then the 6 other people with guns in the ensuing panic start shooting? Does anyone think saying "hey college students, we're scared about people getting shot so hey, feel free to carry guns with you" isn't going to create MORE shootings?
  8. Wait, McCain just voted FOR torturing? The fuck?
  9. Yeah but aren't people just pissed off enough at the Republican party overall to swing things the other way. I just can't believe how the GOP candidates have been getting away with "LOL if a Democrat's elected they'll spend sooooooooo much!!" (and yes they actually said "LOL") after the debacle of overspending that was the Rebublicans controlling the house, senate, and WH.
  10. Oh come on though, there were a million and a half connections (oh right, all 'coincidences') between the Swiftboat Vets and the Bush campaign. And that whole despicable thing could have been shot down if Bush had come out denouncing it. Hell, John McCain condemned it saying "I hope that the president will also condemn it."
  11. Holy fuck! Marvin where were you on this one? I'm not too sure about that. If this campaign has shown us anything, it is that people aren't reacting to the same things they used to: Money, in particular, is not working like it used to. Negative Campaigning is another part of that: People didn't react well to McCain grilling Romney about a "Timetable", people didn't like Bill Clinton in South Carolina. No one reacted well when Hillary and Obama went to each other's throats in the three-way debate. A large-scale "race-baiting" campaign is not something that I think that the Republicans want to do, because it's going to garner ridiculously bad press and lose independents, which are John McCain's biggest strength. I'm not saying that this is going to be a squeaky clean campaign (I'm sure both sides will get their shots in), but it feels like Americans are finally tired of the blatant slander ads out there, so you are going to see a cleaner campaign than in recent years. And honestly, I think McCain's above that. He's better than the dirty bullshit that W pulled to get himself elected twice. Sure you're going to have Fox News and the usual gang of conservative pundit idiots (yes that means Glen Beck too) trying to stir up as much fake shit as possible but that stuff was only really damaging when it was playing along with Rove's plans. So unless McCain gets so desparate that he sinks to that level, or Karl Rove somehow gets himself onboard, I think this one will be better than the horrible shit pulled in the W elections.
  12. how the hell does a 15 year old know their political affiliation? I remember when I voted for Ross Perot in my Elementary School Election 16 years ago because I liked his cool charts. Because normal 15 year olds of the 21st (And even the 20th) Century are, as proven by most psychologists, able to understand laws, morals, and the consequences that come with them. Comparing them to you thinking Perot's charts were cool designs to put on your helmet is the sort of retardation... well, that we've come to expect from you. I dont think many 15 year olds even have a grasp of the problems facing the US today.. Yeah but neither do you and you're how old? So I was watching CNN today and they cut between Obama and McCain giving speeches and my immediate reaction was how old and uninspiring McCain seemed when stacked up next to Obama. When it comes down to charisma, Obama completely slaughters McCain. Now whether charisma matters at all...

  14. Come on, that 'decriminalizing would get more people to smoke pot' argument is such bullshit. Does weed lead to other dugs? Maybe. There's arguments on both sides of that one that I buy. But pot is so fucking easy to get ahold of anyways that it's not going to get MORE people using if they change the way they deal with it in the legal system. Look, there's no one out there going "Hey I'd consider smoking some pot right now if only the legal ramifications were different." You want people smoking less weed, start educating, just like alcohol. Arrests aren't going to change a thing, just like alcohol. Yeah but dude all that won't go down until after they install the North American Union and complete the open border highway from Mexico to Canada. Glen Beck told me this in a dream too.
  15. ??? Are you using 64 bit XP or 32 bit XP? Cause that whole allocating to the video card thing doesn't make any sense to me. It might just be detecting the amount of video RAM you have wrong. Also the RAM limit on 32bit OSs isn't a hard limit but rather is dependant on the system set up (though 4GB is the absolute ceiling for a 32 bit system) cause of memory mapped I/O. This explains it pretty well. Not quite, you're not going drop to a third of the price in one year on a quad core. The Q6600 hasn't moved from $300 in the 6 months since I got one.
  16. So the HD on my laptop has gone completely to hell (overheated I think) so I'm thinking of pulling it and putting a new drive in. Since all good computer makers these days don't actually give you a copy of Windows despite you PAYING FOR THE DAMN THING as part of the purchase price I was thinking of trying Linux on it rather than a pirated version of XP. a)You guys think it'll work? It's a Centrino based system so Pentium M CPU and Intel onboard wireless. It also has a Radeon Mobile as the video card. b)What's a good distro to use?
  17. Now we're talking. I've got a quad core (Q6600) on my computer that I built a few months back and it's been smoking fast. Of course I may be experiencing no noticable improvment over a cheaper dual core if I had one. A couple new games are starting to be optimized for quads and they are better for multitasking as the OS can offload processes to different cores. So getting a quad core now would give you a longer life on your processor since they ARE a higher end, faster CPU, but RIGHT NOW probably wouldn't make much of a difference. As for 64 bit, if you want to be bleeding edge or need more than 4 gigs of RAM (actually the limit is less than that depending on what other hardware you have in your system, but it's some complicated math) than yeah you can go with a 64 bit OS (I did), but other than that there's really no reason. Also if you need a 64 bit OS stay the hell away from XP64. Go straight to Vista. XP64 is actually a whole hell of a lot less stable and compatible than Vista64. Mostly because MS really doesn't care much to support XP64.
  18. Yeah me too. Though it depends I guess on how many vegetables you load it up with. Some subs I like really plain with just the main toppings, and those I can do a whole footlong. But if I load it up with most of the vegetables then yeah a 6 inch will do.
  19. For what you're getting, it's a ripoff. The computer I built for less than $500 would be a $1000+ Dell (or a $2000 Apple). Too true.
  20. I saw it last night and yeah it was pretty intense. All the really horrible stuff they showed with the Burmese soldiers really served to make you celebrate Rambo killing them with extreme prejudice.
  21. Holy fuck! Marvin just posted something and then interpreted the exact opposite of what he referenced!!!!1 LOL
  22. Hillary can't lose now!
  23. Yeah I'm gonna trust a guy who gets his opinions on science from Glen Beck. And I gotta agree, I think McCain has separated himself from W enough in the eyes of the people (whether it's true or not) that, with some decent campaigning, W's trainwreck of a presidency isn't going to hurt him too much.
  24. I think the thing I hate most about Glen Beck is that he clearly thinks he's hi-larious when he's NOT FUNNY IN THE SLIGHTEST BIT. Allow me to also point out the irony of Marvin talking about how he doesn't buy into conspiracy theoreys a couple posts after mentioning how he likes that Beck talks about important stuff like the North American Union and the Amero.
