I love how what's dooming this album has nothing to do with the record itself, but rather the fact that the music industry has crashed so badly in the last few years that NO record could possibly sell enough anymore to recoup the production costs. Axl could put out the greatest album ever recorded today and it won't sell half as well as if he'd put out the shittiest record in the world 5 or 6 years ago.

So what's the opinions on a longer, protracted Democratic primary in relation to John McCain? a) Good for McCain since the Democrats are fighting each other and he can keep up his national campaign message while they're busy. b) Bad for McCain since the Democrats will get much more press coverage during this and he'll fade into the background (relatively). c) Doesn't make a difference since there's enough time between the primaries and general to kind of 'reset' everything.

Did anyone else feeze when Invader wrote that? I'm just going to pray for the president's continuing safety. Why would you "feeze" (freeze?) over what I wrote? You don't agree with it? When old memes attack. What? Really? You mean our leaders shouldn't make decisions based purely on emotion or gut reactions? Who would have ever known? That's the kind of solid leadership that made W's presidency so successfull. Thinking and reasoning is for weaklings.

I do agree, however now that we are down to a single HD-brand of disc, that means their main competitor will be regular DVD, which costs $5-15 less per DVD. If this keeps blu-ray from truely taking off, then I would expect the price of blu-ray discs to start dropping because if in order for blu-ray related products/accessories to sell, people will have to agree that blu-ray discs are affordable in the first place. I was looking at Wal-Mart.com the other day and there was a good amount of Blu-ray discs available for $19 which is a standard price for a lot of regular dvds. I hope the tend continues at a more rapid pace.... Also, as a new(er) owner of a blu-ray player another side effect is that I am not really buying regular DVDs anymore because the bigger I grow my DVD collection the more I will have to potentially have to replace. I don't plan on replacing 90% of my regular DVDs anyway, but movies like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Die Hard, I would be willing to upgrade to Blu-Ray, but not at the current price. The current price of the Die Hard trilogy on Blu-Ray is $109.00 FUCK. 90 bucks for all 4 die hard movies on Amazon. I've found that Amazon.com has some really great deals on Blu-Ray so far. And I actually ended up getting a PS3 after I got my 1080p LCD as soon as I heard that HD-DVD was going down and the thing that has impressed me most about it is the media streaming options. You set up DLNA through Windows Media Player (might only be for the Vista version of WMP, not sure if XP supports it) and you can stream all your photos, music, and videos to the tv in real time. It even works for more 'exotic' codecs like XVID (for all your TV show pirating needs... if you're unethical and down with that of course...) which is something that I thought there's no way in hell that Sony would do. I'm actually so impressed with the 'openness' of the PS3 so far.

Anyone who's lived through the past 7 years and still thinks there's only a "narrow spectrum" separating Democrats and Republicans is pretty much a straight-up retard. Yeah that's going for that whole attitude of "duh, well Al Gore is teh same as W Bush" and boy oh boy did that turn out great. Whenever I think of that sentiment I flash back to that fucking stupid Rage Against the Machine music video from 2000 that had stuff like Bush and Gore's faces morphing together and "Billionares for Bush (or Gore)." And the ironic thing about all that is that most of the people who bought into that shit at the time now hold up Al Gore as their fucking messiah. But hey, Nader's kicking around still...

Episode 9 was just...wow.

Loving Booster Gold right now, there's some hilarious stuff in that book. JSA has been consistently awesome as well. But Green Lantern is the real MVP of the DCU right now. It's been amazing how Johns seems to have like a 5 year plan going on ever since Hal came back. The 'Blackest Night' stuff doesn't even start till 2009 Those are pretty much the only comics I'm paying attention to these days.
