  1. Good times. Fuckin' special edition ruined that kickass song.
  2. Beautiful night. Good speech by McCain here.
  3. Spoiler: And you know what, TheManErnieRowe, I don't like you. Not because of this. Other stuff, in the past. Um, okay. Sorry to hear about Obama's grandmother. It sucks that pundits were mocking Obama's visit, that is just stunning insensitivity and stupidity. I hope the people at Fox News who were making fun of how she was "only sick with a broken hip" and air-quoting "gravely ill" when talking about the story feel like douches now. That's rough, dying the day before your grandson is elected to President. As for coverage, I'll be checking out CNN, since I want to see some sweet Star Wars style hologram action.
  4. The Jon Hamm episode was really great and he was a fine host. They definitely should have him back in the future. The digital shorts have been quite disappointing so far. I keep wondering when they're going to pull out another Chronicles-rap/Dick in a box/Dear Sister that explodes over the net.
  5. I was thinking of picking this up for my PS3, but it just didn't feel right getting a Fallout game for a console, so I picked up the PC version. Definitely glad I did. I have all the visuals maxed out to full and it looks amazing. Haven't played much yet, but so far I don't really care that it's a different style than the first 2.
  6. Affleck doing Olberman was phenomenal. One of the best SNL performances I can remember (even if it wasn't a super accurate impression).
  7. Well a former Chief of Staff for Ronald Regan endorsed Obama. Clearly, like Powell, another case of the black folk sticking together. He also probably had the best burn on Palin yet.
  8. What the hell? What was the context of this one? "Spacial Entrepreneurs" is a classic. What a retard. Fuckin' spendy spenderson Democrats.
  9. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/25/pal...sion/index.html I have this awesome image of Palin running in 2012 and McCain endorsing Obama.
  10. Really? Cause I think SNL's been really really good for the past couple seasons but most of the sketches just didn't do it for me on this episode.
  11. I thought that was the worst SNL I've seen in a while because a whole lot of the sketches just fell flat to me. I thought Brolin looked like he'd be a great host, but he just didn't get good material. Wahlberg was awesome though, and so was Alec Baldwin in the opening. And I always love MacGruber. Also, as much as I wish Sarah Palin would die, she had way better line delivery than most politicians who show up on SNL.
  12. For some reason I can't explain, this pic seems to make me feel like they're on the right track. Everytime I look at that pic, I just keep thinking that it was perfect casting for McCoy. The new guy, for some reason, reminds me heavily of DeForest. It looks like someone tried to combine Trek with a teen drama. Why would they be in charge of a ship when they're all 20? I thought that this was the 'Starfleet Academy' movie, so they're not actually in command of anything, they just get into some wacky adventure and the future crew of the ship just happens to all meet up for this adventure. It better be. There's no way Kirk can be Captain Kirk looking 21 at most. Apparently the black uniform he's wearing in all the pics is a cadet uniform.

  14. What's up with Glen Beck constantly doing some stupid cartoon voice every time he tries to make a sarcastic point. It's really irritating and definitely doesn't help the point he's trying to make. It's like when John Stewart got into doing a Jerry Lewis interjection or a 'stereotype Jew voice' after every single joke he'd make. Really irritating. Oh, and we have a real hard hitting news story as the lead on the Fox News website right now. http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/17/mc...ht-appearances/ Apparently Leno and Letterman are part of the liberal media elite! Have they no integrety?
  15. I disagree, Harper's "success" is completely due to the failings of the Liberal party since Chrétien (who managed majorities despite the Bloc) and the fragmentation of the left rather than any acceptance of conservatism as a social position in Canada.
  16. Ugh, 300 mil for nothing. Disgusting. Harper will never get a mandate, fucker is too right wing for Canadians and doesn't stand a chance in Quebec no matter what (thus no majority, for once the xenophobia of Quebecois pays of). I can't express how much I hate this guy. Dion is a pathetic coward and should have never been given this chance in the first place. I say bring on Ignatieff, but yeah the Liberals are pretty much biding time until Justin Trudeau is a viable candidate. I voted NDP just cause I like our MP, but it was pretty tempting to not bother voting at all. This sucked.
  17. Man, remember the good ol days when Marvin would just post about how sad his life was and everyone would try and encourage him.
  18. No doubt. Petey-Mac keeps his pimp hand strong.
  19. I remember last election hearing some analyst or campaign manager type guy saying that the Conservatives always manage to screw up their chances in the last moment and underperform from expectations. And when you look at recent history, that certainly seems true: -In 2004 the Conservatives were expected to smoke the Liberals but Martin got the minority and the Conservatives got way fewer seats than expected. -In 2006 it was supposed to be a slam dunk for Harper due to the ongoing sponsorship scandal and people's fatigue with the Liberals, but on election night everyone was surprised at how few seats the Conservatives picked up. -This year they've been talking about their mandate with a majority government but in the last week it seems to be falling apart to the point where they may have to fight the Liberals for a minority. I really don't get why they've kept Harper around as leader all these years, I don't think they have a shot in hell at forming a majority government with someone like him in power. Maybe Peter MacKay though.
  20. I think large parts of the republican base are just so completely obsessed with abortion that all other social issues get tossed away. Before, they would shun this girl and her family as an example of the morals that are tearing the country apart, but now anti-abortion absolutism causes those people to hold her up as a shining example because she chose (well clearly she had no choice in the matter) not to have an abortion. To a lot of conservatives now, people can be good christians and still be fucking when they're teens and spitting out babies, as long as they seem sorry about it.
  21. Biden's enjoying it.
  22. Yeah, I'm doing the same thing (well, with an RRSP since I'm in Canada now). While trying to time the market is a futile idea most of the time, if you know you're in a very 'down' period then increasing the monthly contributions works if you can spare the cash. And yeah since I'm probably more than 30 years from retiring there will be many more peaks and valleys in that time. I've been hearing some of my friends' parents talking about how they've lost so much now and are thinking they might have to work more years to save for retirement as a result if things take a long time to turn around. That is a prospect I wouldn't want to face, having a bunch of money disappear close to retirement, with the possibility that the markets may not recover for 5 (or more) years. I guess the lesson there is that if you're getting near retirement you should be moving most of your investments to areas with limited exposure to the stock market.
  23. Holy crap, the Liberals may actually make a go at this. Harper's "well hey Canadians, the economy is getting so bad that this is a super time to buy stocks with all that money you all have lying around" blunder might sink him even more. That is, it would if people here were paying attention to the Canadian election rather than the US one.
  24. I pretty much guarantee (no matter how awful she does) that you'll see the headline "Sarah wows 'em!" on some news outlet tomorrow.
  25. I read a piece by Glen Beck on CNN.com a few days ago talking about how, becuase this was such an epic crisis, the bailout is absolutely neccessary.
