  1. Same here.
  2. Yeah seriously. I download pretty much all of my TV shows, so I can't lay it out by time, but here's my list (it's better than everyone else because I'm super-smart): The Shield (well, doesn't start till January) Battlestar Galactica The Office Smallville The Wire Veronica Mars And Entourage whenever it comes back. Those are the shows that I won't miss. I also watch House when I remember to, I might watch Lost again if I ever catch up on the second half of the second season, and I'll check out Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
  3. Yeah all the Spider books I've read lately have been crap. And I totally forgot about Justice that deserves to be on there for sure. However, I do think All Star Superman is appropriately ranked.
  4. So IGN.com has compiled countdowns of the best currently running books. They say it's based on the quality right now and not reflective of the whole run. So here they are: DC (includes Wildstorm and Vertigo) #10 52 #9 Checkmate #8 Batman #7 The American Way #6 Superman #5 DMZ #4 Y: The Last Man #3 Ex Machina #2 All-Star Superman #1 Fables Marvel #10 Powers #9 Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. #8 Eternals #7 Runaways #6 Astonishing X-Men #5 Captain America #4 Incredible Hulk #3 Daredevil #2 Ultimates #1 Civil War Image #10 Battle Pope #9 The Last Christmas #8 Fear Agent #7 Amazing joy Buzzards #6 Emissary #5 Strange Girl #4 The Walking Dead #3 Rocketo #2 Invincible #1 Fell Independant #10 G.I. Joe: America's Elite #9 Red Sonja #8 Strangers in Paradise #7 The Escapists #6 Conan #5 Scott Pilgrim #4 The Goon #3 Owly #2 Local #1 Mouse Guard So Civil War as the best Marvel comic is the only thing that sort of jumps out at me. I mean, it is good, but I don't think it's THAT good. Plus they left out Cable/Deadpool which is one of my favorite comics out there. At least they got NEXTWAVE on there, it's hillarious and definately worth checkin out. Personally, my favorite book is still The Ultimates. It's interesting how half the DC list is the more non-traditional Wildstorm/Vertigo non-superhero stuff, which is cool because stuff like DMZ and Ex Machina are all excellent. They also claim that Fables is the best book out there from ANY publisher. I've never read any of that, worth checking out? Discuss.
  5. Sucks that the delay is announced a day before the books were supposed to start hitting the shelf.
  6. yup I saw that, doing some Suge Knight type shit...he recognized Johnny Drama as "the dude from Viking Quest" I loved Drama being hung upside down over a balcony and suddenly perking up. "You watched Viking Quest!?"
  7. Meh, the guy he was killin' was an alien.
  8. Not sure about the previous Wolverine origin stories, but this time around Logan actually (as a result of House of M) remembers everything himself. And they're slowly revealing all that to the readers through this series. So here's a problm (another one) I have with all this. Wolverine remembers everything, but they aren't just going to out and tell his history, they're doing it in bits and pieces from all over his timeline. So that means that any time in the years to come, some random element from his past can come out and 'shock' the reader and then we can have some nifty flashback to the past where the Wolverine connection is revealed. So in other words, it'll be ust the same as before, except this time Logan will know what's going on as well. Oh, and as of last issue Yeah, and the art's atrocious.
  9. Really? Care to explain why you like it? Not hating or anything just curious since everyone I've ever talked to has hated it with a passion, but it sells really well and I know there are people who love it. Personally I can't decide whether it's the worst thing ever or utterly brilliant. Art's great though. And for a recomendation: Ex Machina. It's on DC's Wildstorm line. It's about a superhero who saves one of the World Trade Center buildings on 9/11 and becomes mayor of New York. Deals with tons of social issues and terrorism and the like. Definately a 'grown up' comic book.
  10. Will there be bears involved as the bad guys.
  11. Nah, it's got to be a red herring. They're going a bit TOO up front with announcing his death on the cover. So I caught up on the last couple weeks. I really liked the Sue Dibney resurection conflict and the ending with Ralph under the bridge was fucked up (and sad), but I loved him bringing his 'formerly dead' buddies along. And Hal laying the smack down on Wonder Girl was cool. I agree about The Question, it's kind of wierd seeing his characterization here. He acts all mysterious and stuff and then kind of seems like an old frat boy when he's out of costume. But hey, I never read any of his comics, so he might have always been like this. I am surprised that DC never took the oportunity to turn him into a Rorshach clone though. It seems obvious to do since Rorshach was based on The Question. And whatever happened to the space heroes? All in all, still loving 52, but it almost seems stretched a little bit thin. Is it possible that a weekly yearlong series isn't enough space? Hell, I might be willing to buy 2 issues of this a week.
  12. Nah, season 2 was awesome as well. I'll admit it was dissapointing at first because they'd built up all the characters in the projects so amazingly that it was a bit strange to change the focus the way they did. But nevertheless, once you get into season 2, it's just as riviting. And then yeah, season 3 is mind blowingly awesome. I can't wait for season 4.
  13. While Deadwood is very good, The Wire is infact the best show on TV. True dat.
  14. I think he was disagreeing with Trivium not being on the 'Future of Metal' list, not the top 10.
  15. Drama punch him right after the one in front of E Actually it looks like Drama took out the guy in front and Eric reached over him and clocked Seth. Great episode, Lucky Louie was awesome too. "I know, it's just that I'm in the place where they, in order for me to leave they need you to give them..... bail." "You're only sorry because you're in jail." "Well that's the point of jail!"

    Wiiiiii!!!!

I don't get why so many people confuse this. Analog signal broadcasting has absoulutely nothing to do with HD tvs. Once over-the-air analog is stoped, you are still going to be able to watch regular cable on a regular old tv. The government stopping the analog over-the-airs DOES NOT mean that tv is all of a sudden switching to High Def.
  17. Well that's just stupid... I know it's MTV, but damn. Fall Out Boy isn't even remotely close to 'metal' and I dont even think MTV woudl try to classify them as so. Yeah, I was exaggerating. I wouldn't put it past them to toss System of a Down or Korn on it though.
  18. Damn fine list for MTV actually. I totally would have expected like Fall Out Boy and shit on there. Though KISS IS NOT METAL, neither is AC/DC, and Motley Crue is pushing it. However, you'll find those 3 bands on lots of metal lists, so I'll cut MTV some slack. The celebrities had some really good picks as well (surprised HHH didn't list Motorhead at the top). It's interesting how almost all of them listed Zeppelin in their top 10s, but MTV didn't. Though Led Zeppelin is another band that is usually open to interpretation as being 'metal' ot not. Their 'future of metal' list was allright too, though most of those bands have been around a while. And I agree about Trivium being awesome.
  19. Seriously? Why the fuck are they making movies so damn expensive these days? I still think it's wierd to judge movies as 'bombs' based on their budgets. I mean 45 million after it's second weekend is damn good, especially for a rated R movie, but since that budget's so high, it doesn't look so hot. Then there was the rediculousness of people throwing the word 'bomb' around for Superman Returns, a movie that's made over 320 million worldwide (without even opening yet in a lot of big markets), because it had an outrageous budget.
  20. Yeah, the word bomb get's thrown around way too much these days. There's this insane view with some people that movies need to gross 200M+ to be a success. I think the only thing near to a 'bomb' on there is the Ant Bully. Ricky Bobby opening at 47M is pretty tight though. And I guess Pirates isn't going to bring down Titanic as seemed to be some of the speculation after it's opening weekend.
  21. Linedelof? You're kidding right. The Ultimate Hulk vs Wolverine debacle was another Wolverine related thing that I was going to bitch about. Marvel needed to cancel this series or burn the guy's contract and assign a new writer or something after this mess but you know how they are with 'celebrity writers.' Just cause the guy co-created Lost they let him dick around what was supposed to be one of their highest profile books. But Finch, now that's a good call.
  22. I you don't want to do a ton of reading you could just read 52 with none of the other stuff and you'd still dig it.
  23. If they do go with the Penguin, I liked the idea I heard thrown around somewhere where he's an English arms dealer who's just pretty much nicknamed 'the Penguin' rather than a short fat guy who waddles around with an umbrela going "whak whak whak."* Or God forbid, the Burton version. *However, the old school Adam West Batman TV series Penguin was awesome.
  24. I think there's a big difference between bashing a nation's foreign policy and running around personally attacking an arresting officer and yelling "The Jews are responsible for all the wars." So Sheehan's a nutbar, and Gibson's a nutbar, but you obviously have some neo-con axe to grind here so there's probably no talking you down off of this Mike, so I'll just stop. I liked this thread better when it was just making fun of Mel Gibson.
  25. Priceless.
