Evangelist Ted Haggard buys meth, gets massage from gay prostitute.
ZGangsta replied to a topic in Current Events
Haggard: "I've never known the gentleman in question and I've certaintly never bought any illicit drugs." Media: "Uh, what about this voicemail?" Haggard: "Oh yeah sure I knew that guy, but hey, I only paid the male prostitute in question for a massage. And yeah, like a lot of guys, I've bought some meth in my time (from the male prostitute in question), but I didn't use it, duh." -
I never liked the idea of killing off Dick Grayson, and I think him going down in IC wouldn't really have made any sense. So then would they have killed Nightwing AS WELL as Superboy? It's interesting too that there was lots of speculation that Dick was the killer in Identity Crisis back when it was coming out. So in the latest issue of ION, it shows that Kyle also got a visit from the old Monitor telling him he wasn't supposed to be around as well.

This thread certainty didn't live up to it's title.

To bad DC didn't pick the right person to be the writer of "All New Atom". Yeah I didn't like what I read of that series. So I just caught up on the last 2 weeks of 53. Does anyone else think this Ralph Dibny magic quest is going to end really badly for poorl ol' Ralph? I liked J'onn carving out the shrine to all the dead Justice Leaguers. And hey what's the deal with discovering Nightwing was not supposed to survive the Crisis? I stopped reading Nightwing so when they mentioned that in the Origin of Nightwing section I was pretty surprised.

Hot damn was that a great movie! I hadn't read the book and this was the first movie that I went into under my new policy for anticipated movies of not reading anything about them ore watching trailers beforehand. And I must say that it improved the experience. Nolan is an amazing director and I think he will start getting a lot more appreciation in the future. But yeah, I don't really have much to say other than I really really liked it. And I agree, its good to see a movie that has the balls to come out and say "Hey, Edison's a dickhead." Are you kidding, the best part about Scarlett Johannson is that she's considered one of the sexiest actresses but she isn't anorexic looking.

Infinite Crisis Hardcore: major changes made
ZGangsta replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Literature
Hey was the Daily Star always around in the post-COIE Earth, or is this a new post-IC thing? http://www.newsarama.com/dcnew/Action/844/Action844_04.html -
I agree, more wrestling comics could only be a very good idea.

I know, the videos are like crack. I go to watch a couple and I just want to keep watching more of these fucktards get sweated out.

No dude, that was the VERY NEXT DAY. Fucked up. This show is classic though. It's disturbing, but really really funny at the same time. Chris Hansen is so awesome when he busts these guys. And I love the ones in Florida where the cops Strike Team the guys coming out of the houses because it's easy to get a concealed weapon permit in Florida. You can watch all the video on msnbc.com.

When the FUCK did Metal Ed return?

Neither of those videos are particularly great quality, check out the ones off of gunsnroses.com. They're all Appetite for Destruction songs (of course) but they're really high quality video. A lot of people seem to love "Better" but I'm not crazy about it. From the leaked Chinese Democracy tracks so far, I think "TWAT" and "Catcher in the Rye" are the much better tracks.

Well hey! Hey it's a start.

Everyone on the 'net loves to hate on GnR these days, and there was good reason to do so. Except for this year Axl's actually managed to stage a real comeback. The current band is rocking and doesn't look like a joke (like the 2002 version did), they're selling the fuck out of their shows (unlike 2002), and all of the video for the recent live shows I've seen have been amazing (again unlike 2002). AND it actually seems like Axl's changed his attitude, he's talking to the press and showing up to his concerts. Having said that, I haven't been super impressed with any of the new stuff I've heard. But for the first time in a long time I actually have some faith in Axl pulling this off. And there's still a market for GnR, the greatest hits that came out a couple years ago is still on the Billboard top 100 and has been for longer than any other album on there by a large margin (133 weeks). It's pushing quadruple platnum. However this is probably true. And so is this:

Ok then, time to stop visiting this thread until I see them all.

Yeah, cause I want to see one of the guitarists from Nickleback play Dime's stuff. As for today's metal bands, I think you're being a bit harsh, a lot of them can play. There's Lamb of God, Mastodon, Children of Bodom, Trivium, etc. Might not dig that sort of Metal (I'm not a huge fan) but a lot of them are pretty technically proficient. The whole drop-D, one finger power chord metal I associate with 90s nu-metal more than today's stuff. But it looks like someone needs to rock some Dragonforce.

How is it that I can get the whole season off the torrent sites now?

Hey! Hey you. 8 months ago called, it wants its 'making fun of the Wii's name' back. That's right, I went there.

Sure if you like a little junk in your..... (looks at camera).... yeah she's alright.

That story was completely pathetic. No, if it were Marvin, it would actually turn out to be a legitimate girl and she'd fly in to meet him, but he wouldn't show up at the airport because he'd be called into work to cover for someone.

And the thing is, there's absolutly no significant importance in Clark revealing his powers/origin to her anymore because like a million peope know about him and she's clearly seen enough wierd shit happen around him to know that SOMETHING's up. Clark reavealing himself to Lana is supposed to be the biggest moment in the pre-Superman mythology. And I know that they've far departed from the traditional story, but even in the context of the show they've been building up to that. The first 4 seasons of the show spent so much time building up to and foreshadowing that moment and now if he does tell her it wouldn't be all that significant. I think the best case would have been if she had actually died in the 100th episode, it would be a cool complete left-turn from what's 'supposed' to happen. Prett much I can't believe that this show's in its 6th season and she's still getting knocked out every time Clark needs to save her.

Creed gets like 1 scene per episode, yet manages to steal it with that 1 scene for me every time. I loved his scene in the second episode of this season where he asks Angella if he can get a check, and then she tells him they were for the buisness trip and walks away, so Creed sits down, starts eating Angella's food, and says to Meridith. "Andrea's the office bitch, you'll get used to her. I'm Creed by the way." and then shakes her hand as if they'd never met.

North Korea Agrees to end Nuke Program
ZGangsta replied to Prime Time Andrew Doyle's topic in Current Events
Direct military action was/is off the table regardless of the DPRK's nuclear capabilities. Within like an hour of military action against them, the North Koreans can bomb the fuck out of Seoul, Tokyo, and a hell of a lot of other South Korean and Japanese cities with conventional artillery and missiles. Probably loaded with chemical weapons, cause Kimmy has stated he's down with that before. The only way out of this is through long arduous diplomatic action. Oh and people objecting to the US (actually the whole international community) 'dictating whether other countries get nuclear weapons' in this case has a serious perspective problem. -
You want to be really mad, Laz? I ended up having an extra ticket to the show. A friend of mine no-showed, and since he didn't let me know that he was no-showing, I didn't have the chance to arrange for someone else to come instead. I ended up just miracle-ing it to some trashy looking blonde girl. The show was decent ... but they played the new album in it's entirety, so if you were hoping to see, well, most of the classics, you were gravely disappointed. Their set was: the whole new album, then Fear of the Dark, then Iron Maiden. (End of set.) Encore: Two Minutes to Midnight, Evil That Men Do, & then closing with Hallowed be Thy Name. They didn't even play Run to the Hills? What the? I mean, I like the new album, but if I went to a Maiden show and they didn't even play Run to the Hills, Number of the Beast, or anything off Brave New World, I'd be kinda dissapointed. At least you got Fear of the Dark and Hallowed.
