  1. This is the most tragic BUMP of my life thus far. My 15 year old brother somehow obtained and hid 29 cans of Stella Artois and a bottle of vodka in his room. My father did not want a boy of such a vulnerable age to drink, so he gave them all to me. I drank about half of what I just listed, and it disproves my theory that I am impervious to hangovers entirely.
  2. If there was a 'Top Ten' thread then I wouldn't have had to be such a cancer on the blogging universe like this.
  3. 10. 'Treefingers' 09. 'In Limbo' 08. 'Optimistic' 07. 'Kid A' 06. 'The Morning Bell' 05. 'Everything in Its Right Place' 04. 'Motion Picture Soundtrack' 03. 'The National Anthem' 02. 'How to Disappear Completely' 01. 'Idioteque' Discuss.
  4. Retire the gimmick, squire.
  5. I have this free CD that I got with a newspaper: The Best of British Comedy (and Bill Hicks). This was obviously compiled by nationalists, so I think that it speaks for his comedic ability pretty well that a sketch of his was included. 'What Is Pornography?' indeed.
  6. I'm actually quite fond of weddings, but that's purely because the ones I have attended thus far have all been massive gatherings of the side of my family that I actually like.
  7. I'm still responding and yet I feel utterly futile for doing so.
  8. My original username here was Cyber Mark, you see.
  9. You're not JSYK at all. He would never stoop to this level of cyber-bullying. Edit: Cyber bullying?
  10. Between this and surviving multiple assassination attempts Castro is quite possibly the hardest man to have ever existed. Goodness gracious!
  11. You should go ahead with the concept for this to be a weekly happening, but relegate every post to this one thread. I'm sure it will be a rousing success and all, but given the activity levels of Music you could run the risk of over-saturating the folder with Tremendousness. I am interested in your thoughts on other albums in your collection, but I don't really care about Aerosmith at all.
  12. I'm not as well-versed in the work of David Foster Wallace as most of you are. I have sampled a scattered collection of his essays (no, not an actual printed collection) and once read the first 100 pages or so of Infinite Jest in Waterstones before realising how long I had been sat there for and becoming pretty ashamed of myself. Even so, I am very fond of his writing, whether it requires a nearby dictionary or not. R.I.P
  13. Today was a really poor day for me eating wise. I had (as they come to my mind): roast chicken, salt and vinegar crisps, a sausage, mashed potato, and some chocolate... which I virtually never eat. Yeah.
  14. Which was filled with nothing but discussion about comic books. In fact, genuine literature discussion was so sparse and unexpected that Czech had to create his 'Book Recommendations' thread in General Chat to avoid the all too likely scenario of nobody who noticed it caring about literature in the slightest.
  15. No. That's absolutely wrong. What is 'When You Were Young' if not a subpar rewrite of 'Born to Run'?
  16. I prefer 'Atom Heart Mother' to 'Echoes' on the whole in terms of their twenty plus minute pieces. Not that it is my intention to deter this thread via what is only its third post.
  17. http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2008/sep/1...oyd.member.dies This is terrible news. The holy triple-shot of The Dark Side of the Moon/Wish You Were Here/Animals would not have sounded the same without his involvement.
  18. The Beach Boys? Really? Everyone likes Pet Sounds at the least, so it isn't as if people who have (presumably) not ventured any further into their discography are going to scoff at you for enjoying any of their albums.
  19. Name some artists that you enjoy, silly. I'm sure we can get some Cheech appropriate discussion on the go.
  20. Attractive librarians are usually young and cute.
  21. For breakfast I ate crumpets, for lunch I consumed a foot-long tuna Sub with the normal fillings plus cucumbers and for tea I ate corn beef hash.
  22. You would appear to care about Blur to the extent that 'British people' care about Oasis. I really don't see the appeal. 'hth'?
  23. 'Nigger' is pretty much the least offensive anti black slur that there is, since it can be so easily mistaken for 'nigga', which has taken on an almost parodic quality in recent times. 'Coon' would be far more offensive. Hell, even 'darkie' would probably be more shocking, even though it is not actually a swear word.
  24. I drink tea in copious quantities. Coffee is absolutely vile.
  25. Oasis are benefactors of constantly being compared to Blur, whose musical output ranges from mildly catchy to wholly unassuming. (What's the Story?) Morning Glory aside, they're really not anything special.
