I hate to be pedantic about the opening post, but Paranoid was released in 1970, not 1971, and the album's called The Songs of Leonard Cohen.

By comparison, I would eat virtually anything during my formative years - Hell, I was even known as the child who loved the taste of Brussel sprouts - and only became fussier throughout the course of being a teenager.

That does sound awfully familiar as well actually. I don't think that it's fair to say that I know nothing about hip-hop. I have listened to a lot more of it since "Ask Milky" was still happening. A Tribe Called Quest and The Wu Tang Clan in particular.

I used to love Prince when I was around the age of 14, but eventually I began to drift away from his discography. I certainly wouldn't pass on Radiohead to see him now.

Czech, myself and Kamala did pretty well this season in terms of concerts. I am anticipating that "Paranoid Android", "The Bends" and "How to Disappear Completely" shall be especially sublime in a live setting.

Time to dust quite a few off at once then: King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King (1969) "21st Century Schizoid Man" is probably the greatest song in the history of the world. As Agent previously alluded to, nothing else on the record quite measures up to it, but that's more indicative of the quality of the aforementioned song than anything else. I am also extremely fond of the acoustic tale of mythology that is the album's title track, and the completely enarmouringly experiment in how to make good music in a non conventional way "Moonchild". I love progressive rock, and this is one of my favourite albums from the genre. LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver (2007) It's somewhat by chance that I enjoy this record as much as I do, since there really isn't any precedent for me to be a fan of electronic music in my record collection, David Bowie's Berlin triology and Kid A aside. As such, it would be somewhat difficult for me to offer an elaborate description of the record's various songs, so I shall just point out that "Someone Great", "All My Friends" and "Sound of Silver" are my favourite songs on here instead. Radiohead - The Bends (1995) On the whole I prefer Ok Computer, but that's merely because it is a more consistent and varied release, and I believe that Radiohead can successfully cover a much wider variety of styles musically. The Bends is all about individual songs, and oh boy, what songs! "Planet Telex", the title track, "Fake Plastic Trees", "Just" and "My Iron Lung" are all amongst the best tracks that Greenwood and co have ever layed down. The one element of this album that really appeals to me is that of the guitar tone throughout. Words cannot quite do it justice, but Ed and Johnny acheived just about the catchiest guitar sound that I have ever heard on this release. Deltron - Deltron 3030 (2000) This was the result of the collaboration between English rapper Del tha Funkee Homosapien and perennial hip-hop producer Dan the Automator. There's a really loose almost free-style like quality to Del's various raps that I am a big fan of, and the production is fantastic throughout. Leonard Cohen - The Songs of Leonard Cohen. (1967) Cohen's debut album is particularly significant as he was not a musician by nature, but rather a poet. As such, there is a real lyricsism to The Songs of Leonard Cohen that cannot be found in the work of many other popular musicians (I do have albums featuring Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan and Lou Reed - three exceptions to the rule - on this list, but I digress). The Bible would appear to have been a particular obssession of Cohen's at the time of this album's recording, as references to it appear in virtually every song. In the hands of a lesser lyricsist this could have come across as pretentious, but the songs throughout are well written enough that it doesn't even register as a problem. All of the songs on the album are stripped down and acoustic, which gives the lyrics space to breathe. When Cohen would flesh his songs out more musically on later releases, it would generally lead to inferior songs.

I am not really a large scale pie eater, but due to the quality of various variations of pie such as apple and cherry I would have to rank it far above cake overall, which I am not in the slightest bit fond of.

It really is. It becomes awesome at the point where the lyrics shift in tone and you realise what he is actually talking about. Musically speaking it has to be one of his weaker singles though.
