And this: I don't wish injury on anyone, but I am NOT sad to see Mark Henry off my TV for the rest of the year. Anyone want to start taking guesses on how long it will take him to reinjure himself once he returns? Batista vs Kennedy make much sense on paper, and comes across as just what it is, thrown-together. I guess it's just a quick squash to reestablish Big Dave as a monster headed into Summerslam.

All of the ECW matches should be extreme rules... I'm all for that as well, but if only one match on each show will be contested under extreme rules, I feel its mandatory that the WORLD TITLE MATCH be the one.
-
Is it just me or has Taker lost a LOT of body mass? It's either that or Big Show is a lot bulkier than I thought he was. Taker looked like a stick in the ring tonight. I would also like to point out what a crock of shit it is that the EC MOTHERFUCKING W TITLE WAS DEFENDED IN A NON-EXTREME RULES MATCH!

Wrestlers with extreme heat and where and why it started?..
haws bah gawd replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
Don't forget HBK selling the Big Boot by falling to the ground, then bouncing up and running half-way across the ring, and then falling again like he was hit by the Clothesline from Hell. That match is a comedy classic. HBK speaking of Hogan's "lightning quickness" the following night on RAW was the icing on the cake. AFAIK, Savage was notorious for being paranoid of Liz when he wasn't in contact with her. I hear he would occasionally lock her up so that "she wouldn't cheat on him". -
I'm quite interested in a potential "Mordecai" vs Big Show match.

"This Fire Burns" by Killswitch Engage. GREAT song, but it's one of WWE's most overused. Orton used it for one episode of Smackdown, then I believe it was the theme for Backlash, now it's Punk's theme.

How long has it been since Undertaker has used the Last Ride for a finisher? That tale of the tape from earlier was a little shady.

Wonder if the infamous "Kryptonite Fog" (a.k.a. "We were too lazy to program a decent draw-distance into this game") will make a return?

That was Matt Morgan. He was a active member, got hurt and came back and instead of them letting do what he does best (cut promos), they gave him a stuttering gimmick. After that shockingly failed to get over, they canned him. I'm certain it wasn't Morgan. I'm referring to a contestant from the Smackdown-exclusive TE tryouts from '04. The contestants were put on a bench and asked to bench press some random amount of weights. There was one guy who looked like a bulkier Matt Capotelli that got on the bench, and tore his pec not too long after he started. Johnny Ace said he was so impressed with his look, that WWe would pay for him to have the muscle fixed, and offered him a dev. deal right there on the spot.
-
Remember the contestant from the most recent TE that tore his pec during the tryouts, but impressed Johnny Ace so much that he went ahead and gave him a developmental deal? Whatever happened to that guy?

Does Canada have to hold to street dates? Myself, and the rest of the staff at my store were threated with pretty much everything shy of castration of we so much as show a customer the cover art before Tuesday.

Family Guy - We get it. Peter is an idiot, Chris is borderlining on retarded, Stewie wants to kill Lois, everyone in the family hates Meg. The same jokes get run into the ground in nearly every episode. South Park - With the exception of ManBearPig, this past season has been without a doubt, the worst ever. The cartoon wars episode was awful, and the Towelie episode is easily the worst in the show's history. Matt and Trey seem to be letting their personal feuds and little jokes that only they find to be funny, control the show a bit too much. Power Rangers - Once they became "Turbo" the show took a severe plunge.

Does anyone else get tired of seeing Cena consistently get tap-out victories without working any of his submission's pressure points? You could argue that the Protoplex and FU damage the back enough for a submission, but as shown with Shelton Benjamin last week on RAW, Cena doesn't even try to make the STFU look convincing. All he did was bend Shelton's leg, and put his arms around his head. There was no pressure whatsoever on Shelton's body. It's almost like Cena realizes how "made" he is with the company and isn't even trying. It reminds me too much of that lame excuse for a Sharpshooter that The Rock used to use. If you go back and watch Summerslam 2002, when Brock is in the Sharpshooter, all The Rock is doing is holding his ankles together under his arm. Brock's body was completely straight across the ring mat, and had his legs bent at the knees.

That Sid video is great. I don't care what the IWC has to say, Sid was the fucking man, and one of the most underrated big men ever. He couldn't cut a promo for shit, but he had ring presence, and you have to love the one-handed chokeslam.

So, its official that Edge is playing the "Macho Man" to Cena's "Hogan". The only positive is that Cena hasn't as of yet, taken the World title from Edge, not once, but twice within a DAY of him winning it. Though I never wish injury to anyone, I am glad that this is apparently the end of Mark Henry. The worthless slug has been injured for about 80% of his contract length and has been collecting a healthy salary because of it. I was never able to buy into him as a monster. He finally got his heat back from Benoit after 2 years, and squashed Rey Mysterio and other nameless jobbers week in and week out for the majority of this year, but otherwise brought NOTHING to the table. I still laugh at the memories of the "Mark Henry is better than Shawn Michaels" thread.

Brock Lesnar stripped of IWGP Title
haws bah gawd replied to Cuban Linx's topic in General Wrestling
So, is it now safe to say that Brock has burned his bridges with nearly every major wrestling promotion? Whats next for the big lug? -
I got my shipment in at Gamestop today. I was only allowed to count them, then immediately reseal the shipping boxes and lock them away. My boss protects these things like theyre his own children.
-
IIRC, Rey tapped to Kurt Angle at Summerslam 2002.

At the Gamestop where I work, for the past couple of weeks especially, the prices for FFX and X-2 have skyrocketed. The price for X-2 has climbed over $8 in the past week alone, and X now costs more for a used copy than a new one. My store has a similar situation with Sims 2 for the Gamecube. For some reason, a new copy of the game at my store is $19.99 while a used one will set you back $34.99.

I agree that if the roles were reversed, and it was a black woman holding a white woman by the throat, hardly anyone would care, and those that did would be called ignorant (which is a word that is tossed around WAY too much these days). It's an advertisement. It's intention is to grab your attention, and it did it's job well. Get the fuck over it.

OAO ECW Week 4 on Sci-Fi, July 4th
haws bah gawd replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Test vs. Joe? Did Test even KNOW how to sell for Joe? That's a broomstick match for Joe if I've ever heard of one. Did... Oh, I'm not getting started. How was the match? The combination of wrestlers is so odd, I have a strange desire to hear more. -
I assume Petey Williams will be involved in the Team Canada match, but when's the last time he was done the Canadian Destroyer? It seems like forever. Has he been used any lately? I've missed about a month of TNA so I dont know if hes made any appearances or not.

Movies or Tv Shows with Great Training Sequences

Rocky 4 had those fucked up over-the-side-of-a-barn sit ups, and those lower body situps where Stallone was using his neck and shoulders to lift his entire lower body. Thats some hardcore shit. -
I liked the nWo shirts. Both the Hollywood and Wolfpack versions were so simple in design, yet so effective. Until I dropped a lot of weight, I would still occasionally wear my '97 Sting shirt. It had "STING" in a thick blue font in the middle of the shirt, with Sting standing in the middle with his arms spread. I still wear my HHH "iron cross" shirt every now and then.

Circuit City Game Clearance
haws bah gawd replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in Video Games
I'd go, but I know it won't be there. It's never anywhere it seems. Your right, the thing about the Winning Eleven's is that, very few copies are sent to retailers. As popular as it is and also as good (so I hear), very few copies are sent or re-sent to retailers. The Gamestop I work at has 2 or 3 copies of WE 6 and 8 I believe. They've been here for quite a while.
