  1. There isn't much of a difference between Sosa and Burnitz at this point in their careers.
  2. Exactly, but you can't do that in the NBA, because of no minor leagues.
  3. It only works with a strong minor league system. Where would the A's be without their system? You can talk about all the moneyball shit you want but take away Hudson, Mulder and Zito and they weren't going anywhere.
  4. It's impossible to play "moneyball" in the NBA because teams don't have minor league systems like in Baseball where you can let a big name guy go because you have a young guy waiting in the wings. The Sonics season this year is a combination of things. You've got Rashard Lewis having a career year, young players like 2nd year guys Reggie Evans and Luke Ridnour stepping up and playing solid. You've got Ray Allen with his usual spectacular play. The only guy they really added of any significance was Danny Fortson. Now you combine that with the new NBA rules which strongly cater to run and gun style of teams like Seattle and Phoenix, and a little bit of "flukeyness" and there you go. This is not a much different roster than the one that went 40-42 last year. What's going to happen if/when Ray Allen is gone next year or even by this year's trade deadline like it seems he will be? Can't dig in the minor league system, and I highly doubt Flip Murray can match his production.

  6. Made a mistake in not signing with the Clips.. heh. I guarentee you the Lakers will win 3 more championships before the Clippers even appear in a Western Conference Championship series.
  7. Is it really going to have stuff about the SNL incident? From all the commercials I've seen for the new season they haven't shown anything about it, so I figured they're trying to sweep it under the rug.
  8. Spiderman 2 was the best flick of the year..screw all these "sophisticated" movies.
  9. I'll take the Cowboys.
  10. TO as a decoy won't work. I'm pretty sure Belichick knows if TO is out there, he's a decoy.
  11. The WWE has built this up perfectly IMO, Batista quietly rebelling more and more against HHH every week and getting people on his side. It's an excellent buildup to the Batista-HHH match at WM. But what about after that? Say Batista wins and is the World Champion.. is he still going to be as over? Part of me thinks he's getting all love from the crowds because he's going against Trips rather than anything else. I mean honestly, he's a bulked up Randy Orton in the sense that there is nothing really significant that sticks out about him. Basically he's just really big and dresses nice. Although he hasn't been shoved down our throats like Orton.
  12. It's odd that WWE would want to sever ties with The Rock like that, considering he's their big link to the mainstream media. I hope they find some way to get Sting at WM though.
  13. How could I forget. "Throw it down big man.. THROW IT DOOOOWNNN"
  14. "I DONT BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW!!!" during Kirk Gibson's HR in the '88 WS. Also during a Knicks-Lakers game a few years ago, Kobe Bryant had a really nice baseline dunk and Marv Albert goes.."OH MY.. KOBE BRYANT.. WITH NO REGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE!"
  15. On Wrestling Classics they are talking about a rumor that in the newest Observer it says The Rock and the WWE have agreed to part ways after his contract ends in March. I know he's basically gone now, but still him actually being totally and completely gone from the WWE would be very weird. This is all just a rumor though, does anyone here have the latest issue of the Observer, or know anyone who has it?
  16. It isn't the Hall of Stats, it's the Hall of Fame. Anyone who watched football in the 90's knows Irvin is a Hall of Famer. He was straight up dominant. One guy who I think might make it is Ted Washington. Very underrated beast at NT who greatly improved a defense wherever he went. Plus has a SB ring.
  17. Just a question.. are these films going to actually be released in theaters, or just like straight to WWE Home Video type of things?

    I love EA.

Dude, imagine Mel Kiper mock drafts on Madden Franchise. That's going to own so much.
  19. Sounds like a straight to Cinemax/Showtime movie.
  20. I was wondering what happened to him. Does he have a show anywhere now?
  21. I think it's fine. If you're paying money to go to the games, buying their jerseys, hats, posters, etc. You can say it, it's not really that big of a deal.
  22. I think probably 10% of the viewing audience actually knew who the tag team champions were, so a House Show change doesn't mean much.
  23. The Game is so fake. I can't stand that guy. Anyone remember when he was on Love Connection a few years ago with blonde hair and a tounge ring?
