I don't think they feel that way. Guys like Darnell Bing, Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush and Lendale White, who are the leaders of the team, have all been around for 3 years (and more in Leinart's case), they are "Veterans" by college standards at this point and they tasted defeat at Cal, so they know it's never going to be a cakewalk.

Leinart was 18/24 passing in each of USC's first two games. He wasn't quite as efficient against Oregon (23/39, which is still pretty damn good) but that was mostly because he started the game off a little rocky, as did USC's entire offense. He was 11-of-14 passing with 2 TD's in the second half though. That's pretty damn good, I don't know what you expect from him, 100% passing efficiency in every game? As far as the talent level, yes USC has great skill position talent, but what QB gets it done without great players around him? That's like putting down Peyton Manning for playing with Edgerrin James, Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison. People often overlook the fact that last year, Leinart was basically the only returning starter on the offense except for the Tight End. USC was replacing their entire O-Line, starting RB (Herschel Dennis) and starting WR's (Mike Williams and Keary Colbert), and he still won the Heisman.

I would have loved Street's Disciple if they cut it down to one CD, because there were some very good songs on there, but a lot of the beats were awful and there was just too much filler crap on there for a 2-disc. I like Lost Tapes more than Illmatic, I think lyrically Lost Tapes is just about on par with Illmatic, but the production is what puts it over the top. Every song on Lost Tapes is a classic to me, except maybe the bonus track "Fetus", I'm not really into that one. The Lost Tapes was really what Nastradamus or I Am should have been, but he went into that whole "Escobar" phase.

That's true. I love Lost, but it's a lot of science fiction type of stuff. Invasion is just straight up aliens/government conspiracy, I love it.

So has anyone been watching this show? It's very much like LOST (in fact doesn't one of the writers of Lost work on this show?), but it is still a very good show. What are your opinions of it?

Against Carolina he only got them 47 yards down the field and Vinateri did the rest. I don't know how many yards it was against the Rams but I know that until the last drive he was pretty crappy in the game. The Pats D forced 3 turnovers in that game and shut down Marshall Faulk, a very good performance against one of the most prolific offenses in NFL history. That's what kept them in the game. The late game drives are great but they aren't Montana or Elway-esque, I don't even remember the last time Brady actually led a game winning drive that ended in a TD. He just dinks and dunks down the field until they get close enough for Viniateri.

Well you're right, the defense didn't win that game for them, but I don't think Brady did either. I think it was just a simple fact of both defenses not playing well, leading to the offenses scoring TD's, but New England were just the ones who got the ball last. Although I guess I'd put that win on Vinateri if I had to.

The Pats offense is ok, but as someone said earlier, they win because of the defense. The defenses causes a ton of turnovers and puts the offense in a position to score points. Tom Brady is a great QB but he is overrated. Their defense wins the game for them most of the time. He's in a great situation because he can make mistakes and New England will still win because of the defense. When he's forced to win games for them (like in 2002) they don't do as well.

I can't believe there's no thread about this show yet. This is truely one of the best shows I've ever seen. Basically, the show is a look into the life of Danny Bonaduce, who is pretty much completely and totally fucked up in the head. He's out of rehab for like the 10th time and it shows the psychiatrist sessions that he and his wife are going to, trying to save their marriage. I think the show is only about 2 or 3 episodes in so far, but from the previews for the season it seems later on he falls of the wagon, goes nuts and attacks the camera crew, attempts suicide and then his wife leaves. There's already been an episode that dealt with him taking steroids. If you haven't seen this, you really need to. It comes on Sunday Nights on VH1.

To beat USC you have to score on every drive pretty much, and it has to be TD's, because when USC wants to they can pretty much get TD's at will, and if you blow a couple of offensive drives that could be all it takes.

It's possible, but I think they've been playing way above their heads. Then again, they could be the Chargers of last year. Maybe the Browns would take Leinart.

The Raiders won't have a low enough pick to get Leinart (L-E-I-N-A-R-T), but I could see Arizona taking him. Miami is a lot more likely destination for him however.

Rodney will come back for chump change though because as much of a dick he is on the field, he's overally grateful that the Pats gave him the chance when the rest of the league was ready to flush him down the toilet. And the Patriots will be fine. Every year it's "how will they win without..." and they still win. People need to just accept it, they find guys to plug the holes and the boat just ends up sailing better than ever before. I have no fucking clue HOW they do it, but they keep doing it. For all anyone knows, Eugene will just end up being better than Harrison. As for losing Light, offensive line actually looked better when he wasn't in. Plus, add that to the fact that, they aren't going to win Superbowls forever. I mean at some point, the run will end, they aren't just going to win it every year. This seems to be a perfect year for it to happen - losing 3 key defensive players, and Corey Dillon looking like he's breaking down.

You can't say they "survived" anything 3 games into the season, that's to be determined at the end of the year. Hard to feel sorry for a guy like Harrison though.
