The OAO NHL 2003-2004 Season Thread

Brian Gionta (Scott Niedermayer, Jay Pandolfo) Flames took out Florida 4-2. I really liked the effort I saw from them tonight, as they took the game to the Panthers for the entire 2nd and 3rd periods. And, of course, the higlight of my day... <------------------

    Baseball Mogul series

Get Baseball Mogul 2004. It's much deeper than 2003, if you like stats.

    Borderline Hall of Famers

Let me say this...if Dougie doesn't get into a Hall of Fame that includes Pat LaFontaine, there is something seriously wrong. I agree that Gilmour should be in the Hall, but not that Lafontaine shouldn't be. He had excellent numbers his whole career, even though it was plagued by injuries.

WWE News from the 1/05 Observer

What exactly do they base these lists on? Benoit is left off for Torrie, Sable, and Bradshaw? What about Trish, Lita, Orton taking a spot from Jericho on Raw? Well, from my viewpoint, they did the 8 top males and 2 top females per brand. That would explain Trish/Lita over Jericho and Torrie/Sable over Benoit. Still, I don't agree with leaving them off.

We all thought so. As usual, the refereeing was shoddy, but that's not the reason they sucked tonight. Iginla pissed away three breakaways, Ference missed a sure goal right after Clark's marker, and they weren't hitting at all. They got physically dominated all night by the 'Nucks, and I'm thinking they're afraid of getting injured, considering sick bay is pretty much packed right now in Calgary.
  7. Somewhere out there, Gheyme is rejoicing. Either that, or he's the webmaster of that site.

    SomethingAwful looks at bad forums

Umm, I wouldn't go that far. I've been frequenting GovTeen since April, and believe me, some of those kids can surpass OJ Hart by leaps and bounds.

Woywitka. And the Flames continue to roll, despite INCREDIBLY shoddy refs trying to give the Jackets the game back. There is no way in hell that the Flames took 13 penalties, and 3 almost full 5-on-3s, without some kind of crap going on with the officiating. And while I'm on the subject, I would hate to be on the Jackets' powerplay and have to face Doug Maclean now. 17-9-2-3. I can live with that.

    Hockey Jersey Decision

Get the Flyers jersey, if only because my hatred of Bobby Clarke is easily eclipsed by my hatred for everything involving the Oilers.

Us American scum are watching the heritage games

Yeah. Punch to the face, right in front of the referee, no call. Also, Iginla gets cross-checked into Cloutier and takes 2 minutes for it. That was a laugh.

NHL Referees > Trout. If anyone watched the Flames/Canucks game, you know EXACTLY what I mean. Calgary got rooked AGAIN.

    "Homosexuality Should Be Outlawed"

Well, if this wasn't totally predictable. An Alliance MP went and put his foot in his mouth about an important issue right before a federal election. The Alliance makes me sick. Their views and policies would set the country back 35 years, their obvious anti-incumbency no matter what the issue is laughable, and they don't seem to have one member with an ounce of sense as to what to say or how to act in the public eye. If, once the Libs win Election 2004, the Alliance goes on another pro-West tirade on how the only reason the Libs keep winning is because they control Ontario and Quebec, I may just piss myself laughing. Here we have Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition, yet nobody in the party seems to know how to run the ship. Let's face it, the CA gets the majority of its votes in Alberta, which doesn't hold much water because all the voters know is what our über-right-wing, anti-East propagandist provincial government feeds them. This combination of the Alliance and Tories is just a last-ditch effort to salvage something out of the two parties before both officially go down the tubes. Canada, get ready for Liberal majorities for years to come.

    The Oil get Oates

I thought that Lowe offered him like 1.2 mil, and Comrie argued that players at his level were making over 4 and offered 2.3, but the Oilers' brass balked and Comrie decided to hold out.

    Who's on the injured list?

I just got an IV out of my arm last Friday after having it in for 6 weeks. It was there to fight an infection I had in my finger after I had surgery on it to fix the bone, which I broke/made worse in football.

    Manny Ramirez

Sorry, guys, but Vlad is staying in Montreal. The team's value would drop so drastically without him that MLB could not unload the Expos to any owners without posting a loss in the transaction.

    Loria pledges no fire sale

Thank God ol' Jeffy didn't want to move them, or else Mik here would have some dark days ahead, like the ones I've had since he bought the Expos. I said it before, I'll say it again. FUCK JEFFREY LORIA.
