I wasn't paying much attention to the WWF in 1997 and early 1998, so I wasn't watching during the early days of DX. I began watching again after Wrestlemania XIV, and I always remembered the faction's name being spelled "D-Generation X." On Friday night, I went over to Cash Converters and picked up a shitload of old wrestling tapes on the cheap. One of them was the No Way Out show from February of 1998; as I watched the show, I noticed that DX was being referred to as "Degeneration X" in their Titantron video and their merchandise. When did the WWF replace the E with a hyphen in DX's name?

I can't believe that, of all the events for which I could've offered to pick up the tab, this is the one I picked. Horrible, horrible show (except Stevenson/Edwards... I liked that one).

I dunno if this deal is as good for Vancouver as they might think. Krajicek's a downgrade on Allen, and they really needed to get a blueliner for Bertuzzi.

The direction they're going in is pretty obvious to me. Since a referee did not count the pin, Raw doesn't recognize the title victory by Van Dam, and Cena gets the belt back; however, ECW does recognize it, and names RVD "ECW World champion."

Overall, I was entertained, but the whole show felt like it could've been better. Foley/Edge vs. Dreamer/Funk could've been crazier, Mysterio/Sabu and FBI/Crazy-Tajiri could've been spottier... I was just underwhelmed.

As great a city as Montreal is, it's got a big problem when it comes to racist citizens. Always has.

Flames win 3-2, and Phaneuf looks like he dodged a MAJOR bullet late in the third when Corey Perry tried to take out his knee. That's okay, though, because Calgary has an answer for any knee-first garbage that Anaheim tries, and his name is Marchment.

Montreal's playing awesome so far. Hopefully, they can keep it going at home, and get this done quick. The Flames need to show up and play their game. So far, they've half-assed the first two games of the series.

I can't believe that Joey Styles can continue to call Shane McMahon "the product of (Vince's) omnipotent semen" without cracking up.

I bought the DVD of UFC 45 today. Holy shit, was the Rizzo/Rodriguez fight ever horrible. Did either of those guys ever fight in the UFC again?

I love this show, mainly because it's the only reality show around where you're guaranteed to see whichever contestant you don't like get smacked in the mouth a couple of times.

The Blue Jays did something that no team has ever done before: come back to beat Randy Johnson after spotting the Big Unit a four-run lead. This drops Johnson's record in games in which he's had a four-run lead to work with to 145-1.

Styles: "You think that maybe Mr. McMahon's pronunciation of himself as a deity was just a bit too much for... well, you know?" Yes, Joey. Yes it was. It was a bit too much for me, as it offended my sensibilities and insulted my intelligence. As such, I have switched the channel to a basketball game, and it won't be going back.

... And the division is ours. Phaneuf's 20th of the year is the GWG, and Kipper gets his 10th shutout of the year.

The Flames are finally playing the way we all thought they could, and they're doing it at the right time. They've finally got all the lines clicking, an established first trio (Huselius - Langkow - Iginla), their defense is healthy, Kipper is stunning in the crease... and the thing is, most Flames fans will tell you that this isn't even the team's peak. They can be better than this, and hopefully they will continue to work towards that.

Pretty lacklustre episode tonight. I killed myself laughing at the restaurant's name, though.

I can make out "What" and "stinks", but that's as far as my French vocabulary goes. That's what it means. What Stinks Restaurant.

I was half paying attention...what was the restaurant's name? "Qu'est-ce qui pue Restaurant." A lot of people wouldn't get that, but I did. Yay me. Simpsons was good tonight, to my surprise. Perhaps the show can get out of the funk it's been in for the better part of a decade?
