This was the first year out of the last 7 that I didn't nearly die at least once. Defying logic I still have my right leg. Defying logic, my scuzzy grindblack metal band still exists. And, I get to look forward to 3 possible(2 for sure) new heavy metal projects coming my way. And up to this minute, I am loving this breakfast tylenol blast. And it's loving me right back.

Even The Board Doesn't Care...

Your birthday is listed dude. Happy birthday and merry ho hos -
I'm thinking this was the Avril invasion thread How long does *For Now* last anyway?

Enslaved - Below The Lights Darkthrone - Hate Them Zyklon - Aeon Naglfar - Sheol Opeth - Deliverance/Damnation Soilwork - Figure Number Five Goatwhore - Funeral Dirge For The Rotting Sun No particular order(and what I can remember getting that was released this year). I'll probably add Anathema's 'Natural Disaster' to that list once I get a proper listen in.

I only got Pantera and Skrape on that tour in Calgary. Morbid got hung up at the border if I remember rightly. Skrape was fucking abrasive(not in any good way) and trebley while being ignored to hell, and pantera just looked burned out. I wasn't very happy. That I won't be seeing this death metal holocaust of a show makes me a little unhappy aswell. Pierced From Within was my first 'brutal' death metal cd. It still remains my favourite death offering. All is not lost, I get Opeth and Moonspell 3 days before my birthday. Opeth owns me so I'm good.

LOA fucking sucks -
If you're saying it's gonna be moving to a pirate ship next, I will weep with joy.

I did exactly that last night. To stay with the thread: 23 and live with my mother and brother basically due to it being a mutually beneficial situation(this is after living out of any nest for years). I have severe enough injuries to my back and leg to make me feel ok about getting a little break on bills each month.

Aaaah! Where do I find those forum pics?

This is not a positive trend for TSM. -
1980 Dodge Mirada. That car had a fast as fuck 318 and an 8track player that blasted out the original Star Wars soundtrack. Minfucking the old folks with that tape is a memory I will cherish. Never seen the same model Mirada since then.

Tomato slices, salted. Ghetto Sammiches of all kinds. Current favorite is the high class ghetto fabulous Louisiana hot sauce, cesar salad dressing and balogna spectatular. Relish by the spoonful Not really a food thing, but a fun trick for any brave pill poppers out there: put about 9 tylenol in your mouth, and take a big swig of coca cola. Like a pop rock explosion, but with more fiz and no popping.

Mr. Piss is pissed...
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye replied to {''({o..o})''}'s topic in No Holds Barred
In the last two months I have been nearly hit while walking/driving probably a dozen times. In southern Alberta no less, where you would think motherfucks would at least know what to expect when november comes around... Motherfucks...the whole lot of them. The very thought of never hearing ABOBO's sweet siren song again caused me cold sweats and difficult breathing. -
<---- Underappreciated Heavy Metal poster of the year. <----- Avatar of the year.

Ditto Funny, I would call TSE and Serenades blah while Eternity is awesome and Judgement is the single high water mark against which all music of any integrity should be eternally measured. I truly believe it will never be topped..by anything. Damn you doom elistists.....

And I'm a whole 'nother cat altogether. No, for me, COB can never be a black metal band because they don't have that feeling. "The Feeling" being something that no one will ever be able to properly describe other than to say...you just know It's unscientific and biased but it is a quintessential truth. For me. Tangent: what most people don't understand is that the style of riffing in Black metal, even at it's most primal (eg: De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas by Mayhem) is still much harder to do than wanking out on some technical scaling madness like Laiho does. / Tangent I don't represent the typical purists, as you describe them. I decided a while ago that I'm not gonna play that game so I could still be ok to enjoy Cradle Of Filth cd's while still being a Black Metal Kid. I'm far too open minded to shut myself out of these 'grey area' bands. Now I'm going to go listen to "Towards Dead End" and thrash my room to hell. Back tonight with some comparisons maybe.
-
Technicality has never been a contention in black metal, neither has satanic lyrical subjects. Examples of this are Emperor and Enslaved(off the top of my head). Both highly technical from the start. I don't recall Varg Vikernes(Burzum) ever really dealing with anything satanic in his songs. And he is the focal point of accusations about being satanic. Alexi Laiho sure can carry a scream, but the guy from Mushroomhead can growl pretty low. Doesn't make them death metal. Children Of Bodom doesn't have the....feel. And I'm not trying to be confrontational...I'm a purist, not an elitist. EDIT: And hold on just a damn second Slayer. You listed your doom likings and stated Anathema, but noting it was only older Anathema you like? Tell me you cannot possibly think The Silent Enigma or Serenades is better than Eternity or Judgement? Please tell me?
-
I dislike Crowbar, but I was feeling the comparison. Children of Bodom isn't black metal. You piss off the purists with rubbish like that. I'll do some comparisons later.

two that spring to mind right now: Hypocrisy - Hypocrisy Destroys Wacken Cryptopsy - None So Live (I am feeling the new singer much more than the other guy)

This year also marked the incident where "The Rising Star" accused me of being a corpse humper due to what he had been told by the christian media outlets of Norway about the subgenre of Heavy Metal known as "Black" Metal. -
Anathema - Judgement (Again I'll say, the best cd ever recorded, bar none.) Emperor - Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk ( Best metal cd ever) Pantera - Power Metal (Super fun party metal anthems) Neurosis - Through Silver In Blood (will melt your body and skullfuck your soul...in all the right ways) Agalloch - The Mantle (if you're suicidal, this will either push you over the edge or lift all the pain away)

Buckshot > Mr Rogers > Pee Wee > Capt. Kangaroo Funnily enough, I'm going through a similar situation to what rawmvp is entertaining us with. Just not in such a retarded manner.
